Great Ambiance, the food is so-so. The servers were hard working and considerate-but understaffed.

Prices are reasonable for the quality and taste of the food presented. The chef is particular in sourcing high quality ingredients that when prepared has a unique taste. Some standouts: Seafood Chowder, Burrata cheese served with heirloom tomatoes and balsamic drizzle; petite filet mignon, and a wonderful gelato spumoni encased in a chocolate shell. I know the restaurant has had its ups and downs in recent months, but it is well recommended for a revisit or a first visit. Easily the best dining experience I have ever had in Northern NY.

The local owner is Heather and haven't seen her there in over a year! Bathrooms are freezing and have no heat, when it rains water comes up through the floor in women's restroom, multiple holes in the wall as well for OVER A YEAR NOW, apparently no one cares what the place looks like! Restrooms are usually out of soap and paper towels as well. At one time there was live music at least once a week, can't remember the last time there was music now. Nice outdoor area, never a bartender outside working! Rarely posts any specials or updates to Facebook page to draw people in. When there is a post, it's usually for the same day so no notice for people to be aware and come in. Another Owner is more concerned with his high end restaurant in A-Bay to be bothered to deal with this place. Attended a private party and food presentation was ridiculous, looked like a 5 yr old put everything together! Food came out on plain dinner plates rather than platters, it appeared they wanted to bring out as little food as possible so people would leave early. At the bar one evening and the bartender called last call at 8:30. When asked why she was closing with 11 people sitting there, she said, "I want to go to the Tiki!" Stopped in one last time this week and most of the staff have quit due to no accountability and support from owners. Don't waste your time, go next door to The Place or across the Twin Bridges to Hosmers or Shipwrecked! Guessing this placed will be closed by end of winter!

I decided it'd be cool after Toronto instead of going the same way back to go up east-northeast and come back into the US from the Thousands Islands Bridge to see something different. We arrived in Kingston at dinnertime hungry but unsure what to eat. I looked on Yelp after parking in downtown, but was still unsure. My girlfriend & I needed to use restroom and popped in a hotel. We asked the front desk recommendations. She recommended Dianne's very close walk. We ate outside. It was balmy for Kingston in early June with temps in the 70's F around 8 PM; their average high temp in early June is only upper 60's F (around 20 C). Our server was friendly. She said people are enjoying the first really warm evening of the season. We both got their fish n' chips. It's an Alaskan Pacific haddock as opposed to cod or others used. This is superior to other fish n' chips I've had. This is delicious. Fries were good too, but the fish was the real star and about the best fried fish I've had.

Since we're not locals in the area, we opted for the poutine then my daughter opted for the fish taco. Her food was actually good but rather a very small serving. Either that, or we're used to American-sized servings. The poutine we had was the seafood type since we figured out, they should have amazing seafood since we're near water. Flavor-wise, I think they needed more. The sauce that came with it did not seem to give justice to the dish. Nice location though. And service was good. Food, unfortunately, felt short of my expectations.
