I discovered this mobile hot dog cart business on Facebook a month or so ago. I love a good hot…read moredog and I love a local business, so I knew I had to chase them down and try one for myself. The menu is simple but highly creative. You can build your own hot dog with a variety of toppings (classics, like ketchup or mustard, are free; premium, like peppers and onions or pineapple relish, are .75 cents) or you can order one of the chef's specialty dogs. By default, the dogs are enormous, savory, and all beef, but you can change to a sausage dog for an upcharge if that's more your flavor. Specialty dogs run between $7-$8, depending on the number and type of toppings. Each one is named after an iconic or well traveled road in Huntsville, which is a great tie-in to their name and theme. You can buy chips on the side, but we all found the dogs to be a more than ample lunchtime meal, and worth the price. My parents and I had the 431 (pineapple relish, bacon bits, peppers and onions), the South Parkway (a tricked out chili cheese), and the Monte Sano (brown mustard, kraut, pickle relish, bacon bits). Each one was delish, piled high with toppings, and made fresh to order. It's obvious the owner is thoughtful and particular about the toppings. The bacon bits were real, freshly chopped, crispy and fatty bacon -- not the kind you buy in a package at the store. Astoundingly, the buns held up to all the goodies piled on top. If you're too intimated to eat with your hands, forks and a multitude of napkins are at your disposal. The owner was there slinging dogs himself and we had a good time chatting with him. He and his wife run the operation by themselves, and it's nice to see and interact directly with the people who benefit from your business. He was very nice and did an excellent job preparing our food and telling us about his product. You can reliably find their weekly schedule posted on Facebook. They're often at Parkway Scrubs for lunch and also appear at local breweries and events for dinner, but don't take my word for it -- find their page and hunt down this cool little cart.

We even considered just letting it go, but since we were in the area, we reluctantly decided to give it another try. I'm glad we did. This time we decided to try the burgers. We both had the Swiss mushroom burger. A soft, brioche bun, large, juicy burger and so many mushrooms that they were falling off of the bun. Greasy is an understatement but absolutely delicious is not. THIS was a good burger. The accompanying steak fries were kind of a letdown but the sweet potato fries rocked. We ordered the kids cheeseburger for our 4 year old grandson. The burger looked great but we made the mistake of giving him fries before he ate his burger. How embarrassing to make such a rookie mistake! We couldn't finish what we had but we also weren't going to miss the house made cheesecake with lavender syrup. This bit of deliciousness was a perfect addition to our evening binge of season finales. I am so very glad that we tried Southern Wagyu again. Our next visit will probably be for their monthly dinner club. Can't wait!!

The steak & ham are to die for and their macaroni was perfect. The pick up process and ordering was simple with very caring staff assisting packing it up for us into the car. We will be back on a more regular basis in the future as this has quickly become one of our favorite spots. Picture attached of the Easter spread (don't ever skip their bread pudding- yum!!)
