(Our main direction in every bar was to give us something we'd have a hard time finding back in the States.) That got us to a Duich Moss dram...heavily peated (just the way I like it) from Islay...a great choice for one of our last whiskeys in Scotland. If you like Scotch Whiskey, you can certainly get it any and everywhere in Scotland...but this place is a true Scotch lovers' destination...the selection is unrivaled, and you'll find yourself in a great, historic atmosphere to enjoy it. The fish didn't taste frozen. I wish there was more tartar sauce, but there were a variety of other sauces on the table. It also comes with a drink. There's TVs and sports memorabilia everywhere. Service: I always look for good conversation, attentiveness, kindness, and whether or not the server and or bartender was knowledgeable about what they're serving. If you're lucky enough to get in, you'll like it. It's cosy, it's warm, it's snug. But it is tiny. I mean, everyone inside could probably touch a wall, no matter where they sit. They have Belhaven on draft, and the pint I got was cold and tasty, and I got a warm welcome from the one barman on duty. The bar is so small, I'd imagine if they put two in, there's be collisions galore. I am possibly too large to fit behind the bar, and not in a FNAAAR FNAAAAR way. I would possibly get claustrophobia. Other than the size, and pretty snazzy lights hanging from the ceiling, there's not much that's unique about it. It is, at the end of the day, just a wee pub underneath The Chip.
