I struggle with this review. Pro: problem solved. Con: high cost. Also indicated evidence of a mouse problem yet did not say if they did anything about it... had to read about in the notes, which I would not have, had I not asked. So, yes They solved the problem with the power on my Winnebago, but thought what I was charged was excessive. Maybe I'm wrong but 2300$ in labor, where they called and were walked through the issue by tech. support seems high. Took 8 days to get back; no demerits there. With no parts replacement, can't help but feel I got soaked. I will probably sell the RV if these are the costs I am looking at paying. Since they did not replace the house batteries, and they are old, that will be another high cost in the near future. We were traveling through the area on a long road trip and had an issue with the main power cord hard-wired into our motorhome. They didn't have the pieces we needed in stock but they helped direct us to a place in town that did and told us to come to them for installation and that they would get it installed that day and get is back on the road. Within 5 minutes of pulling up they had our rig in the shop and they got us taken care of and back in the road. Bill, Richard and Gavin are A+++ and we highly appreciate them and recommend them. Snake River RV in Twin Falls ID quoted us $140.00 per hour to do repairs. And then charged us $280.00 per hour after they were done. While traveling on I-84 through Idaho on Saturday October 21st we encountered a freak wind storm with side winds of up to 70 mph. The winds caused serious roof damage to our 2002 Winnebago Journey. On Monday the 23rd we called Snake River RV and were told they could do the needed repairs that day and get us on our way. I'm a DIY guy and merely wanted the roof secure so we could drive the remaining 500 miles to Wenatchee where I would do a complete repair in my shop. Richard, an employee of Snake River RV quoted us $140.00 per hour to do the repairs and said they would involve 3 to 4 hours of work. A quick calculation resulted in me verbalizing that the total cost would then be around five to six hundred. None of the three Snake River employees present in the office contradicted the amount! Three hours later I received a call to say the work was done and that the owner, Bill Hart said to charge us $280.00 per hour. That would be a charge of $940.00 for caulking 25 ft of roofing and laying down another 25 feet of tape. Needless to say, I was furious. I called Bill for an explanation and he told me the rate increased because two people worked on the RV. It is important to note that it appeared to me that Richard was well aware that it would be him and another employee doing this work when he quoted us the $140 per hour rate. Richard has been employed there 14 months; you'd think he would know the shop rate! I just have to add; if had actually known the rate was going to be $280.00 per hour, I would have left and gone elsewhere. I was denied the ability to make that decision So, here we are, 500 miles from home, our temporary lodging is behind the closed doors of a shop and I feel we are being extorted at a rate of $140.00 per hour. We relinquished and paid the bill. I figured I would work it out with the bank later and in addition, do my best to warn other travelers to steer clear of this business. And also, not to be stupid like me... get it upfront in writing! read more

Don't trust them. We were deceived. We were quoted "our rate is $140 an hour" and was charged $280 an hour because they concealed their shop rate is per person per hour. Get a written quote up front. My husband and I were traveling on I-84 with our Winnebago motorhome when a freakish windstorm hit us sideways with 60 to 70 mph winds. The closest exit was to Twin Falls. As we exited the freeway our roof was damaged possibly from flying debris. My husband is a do-it-yourselfer and has 30 years of experience owning and maintaining RV's. He tried to come up with a fix but due to the 40o temperatures, he could not caulk the roof without the use of an enclosed garage. Through a web search we found Snake River RV Repair and Service and called the business number during business hours and there was only a recording. First red flag. We finally connected with the owner, Bill Hart. He had technician out on call and would send him by where. After 30 minutes pass the time he was to show up, I texted Bill again. Bill said there was a communication error. Red Flag #2. My husband told him the repair required caulking and we would drive to the shop. The web site is modern and professional. The shop consisted of one garage door and one man door with a small, almost temporary looking sign over the door. Assorted RV's were parked on gravel, no fencing around the lot. Red Flag #3. A woman, Amber, and a man, Richard, met us. Initially Amber's facial piercing and tattoos were what I first noticed, but her attitude concerned me the most. She stated "I am the roof expert" and began to tell Richard how to fix it. Amber stated that she wanted to rivet the fiberglass roof and Richard discussed placing an extra trim piece over the existing roof trim. Red Flag #4. My husband was not comfortable with either of their "fixes". He requested the roof be caulked as it was originally done by the manufacturer and taped for travel. He planned to complete the repair in our own garage, 500 miles away. They agreed to caulk and tape. Richard pointed out another motorhome awaiting repair with the same damage and indicated this would be a good way to figure out how to fix it, which indicated they were not familiar with repairing a Winnebago roof. Red Flag #5. While standing in the reception office my husband asked, "So how much is this going to cost us?" Richard said "Our rate is $140 an hour. We normally charge $115 but since this is a drive in, it's $140.00." My husband asked if there was any chance to negotiate the rate. My husband repeated the rate stating "So $140.00 an hour, at about 4 hours. Well, ok. That's do-able." This was said in front of the receptionist, Amber, Richard and me. My husband realized he had left his cell phone and when he returned to our motorhome, he found them putting the insulation for the edge of the roof in upside down. He had a short discussion with Amber until she turned it over and realized it was indeed upside down. Red Flag #6. 3 hours later, earlier than anticipated, Richard called to tell us our motorhome was done. Initially we felt relieved until he said, "Bill said we have to charge $280 an hour because two people worked on it." We were deceived. My husband called Bill, but he would not honor what was quoted. Our motorhome sat behind the garage door and we now have a bill to pay that is double what we were quoted. I was uncomfortable, again, in the Snake River RV shop when the receptionist took her pink smartphone and physically typed my credit card number into it. She now has my credit card number, expiration number and card verification code in her phone. I signed a digital screen on her smartphone and received NO credit card receipt. I can't imagine any reputable business who deals in large transactions not having a credit card processor. Another red flag against the professionalism of the Snake River RV Service and Repair. Be cautious in dealing with this little repair shop. Get a written quote up front. Or better yet, just go somewhere else. read more

What a great shop! We were traveling on a month long journey. They worked us in! So appreciate their prompt, courteous service!

It was within the first few days of a three week trip and our fridge, stuffed with yummy meals, in our new motorhome went out. Others said it would take up to a week to get a part-which meant our trip is trashed and our food ruined. These guys found the problem in less than an hour and had us back on the road. And their charges were very reasonable. I highly recommend them. Don't let their small operation fool you. They get the job done. read more
