I'll start by saying the staff is very kind. However, the reason I'm leaving a negative review is because I quickly realized this gym wasn't the right fit for me after joining. Much of the equipment is old or malfunctioning, and it's nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone--phone lines are disconnected, and emails go unanswered. After I inquired about how to cancel my membership, I was unexpectedly charged $35 just hours later, as if they were trying to get every last dime before I left. Still no response. I tried calling again--still no working phone line. I ended up going in person to cancel, where I was asked to fill out a form. Despite this, I was charged $50 for the following month, even though I had canceled within the required timeframe. Since then, I've continued to be charged. I eventually had to contact my bank to stop the payments. I was able to reach Saundra Swain once, but I've had no luck getting in touch since. At this point, it seems that refunding the money they've been stealing from me is not a priority for them. Don't bother with this gym. read more

Been using this gym for three years now and found it to be well kept, clean, and friendly staff/gym members.

I live in the area and use this gym regularly. It has all the basic things you need for a good workout--there are two squat racks, a Smith machine, cables, free weight dumbbells up to 100 lbs, resistance machines, and cardio equipment. There's also a room for yoga classes. There are plenty of cubbies for you to put your stuff. There's also a weight scale and a BMI measuring scale. There are bathrooms with showers on site as well. If you want to avoid the crowds, I recommend avoiding 5-7pm on weekdays as well as late mornings on the weekends. Most of the time, I don't have any issues getting on the machine or equipment that I need! read more

This gym is really excellent for a number of reasons. First of all the lighting is great and there are nice big windows so you don't have that disgusting fluorescent submarine light and dim corners. Second of all it is a very large and well equipped room. You are not overwhelmed with endless rows of closely packed with machines and for those of us who are not gym junkies you definitely feel comfortable working out here. On the other hand there is definitely enough high intensity equipment here for the more experienced folks to get a real workout in. Lastly the owner (and management) here is incredibly professional and friendly and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. This gym is amazing! It has everything you need but it's never too crowded. This is a great gym for people who really like to workout and everyone is so helpful, even other members. The trainers are great, very knowledgeable and the drop in group classes are really good too. Given how affordable this gym is, I expected less but I'm happy I got more than I expected. I've had memberships at other gyms, some more expensive and some that were cheaper but this Snap Fitness location is my best gym experience. Highly recommend! read more

2 stars because they require membership cancelation in-person (during a pandemic) or by letter. It boggles my mind that in 2020 a company wont accept cancelation from a signed PDF if sent by email, but they will accept that PDF if it is printed, placed in an envelope, stamped, and carried all over the place. Otherwise, the gym is small and not particularly fancy, but is open 24hrs, is rarely crowded, and includes free covered parking. This was enough to make me happy prior to the pandemic. read more

I joined snap as my "extra" gym. (I know that's a bit extreme). For the price and the 24/7 availability it is more than I expected. The equipment is very new and clean and although I have never been during staffed hours everything is in it's place. My only wish is that they had a true squat rack and bench press but I understand they are working with limited space. read more

As I mentioned in my tip. This place is fantastic. I started coming here when it first opened and have been going back daily. They have great new cardio machines, weight machines, and an awesome fitness room with a ton of fitness workouts that stream to a projector. I just took the first Zumba class today. Lots of fun. Five stars for this location (new space with new equipment and great owners) combined with the fact that membership is good at all Snaps nationwide. I appreciate that the owners (Meg and Brett) are there regularly, take time to get to know you and say hello when we see one another there or elsewhere in the Sloop. Having this place literally one block away is super convenient and the membership cost is very reasonable. Highly recommended! I've lost 15 lbs. since July and am up to running 12 miles. Thank you Snap for making it easy for me to get in shape! @leslie m. - they rearranged the equipment and added a dedicated squat rack / bench press shortly after your review! Enjoy. I'll add that this Snap doesn't have a basketball court or pool nor offer a "full service" experience with saunas / laundry etc. I'm not saying this to be negative - just reporting the facts. There are showers and a decent-size room for classes, yoga, spinning, etc and there are lots of classes offered. There are also personal trainers available. I joined here, because of the great location in proximity to where I live. When it's cold out, (and I don't have a car) the last thing I need is another excuse to not get to the gym.. and "its too cold out" was not going to be one of them. This is a very nice place to train. It's very clean, and everyone appear to be respectful of other gym goers. The staff are all very friendly. There's an aerobic room, with a large movie type screen, and you can choose from a large variety of on demand fitness videos...sculpting, cardio, etc.. very unique and nice you can use on your own time, verses only being able to, if it were with an instructor and class... nice addition. The only piece of equipment that I do miss, when coming here, is a vertical leg raise which I like to use a lot. Whenever I have been here even during not staffed hours, it's always been super clean and well kept. I am not saying this place is bad, just my experience today, as a first time visitor. I signed up online through my health insurance company and went there with the temp ID I printed.I couldn't go in because I didn't have a card to swipe, which I was fine with, so I looked for staff 's help. Previous reviews said their staff were good, but there were no staff there (I came on a Saturday during the day). I called their phone# but it went straight to voice mail, and their voice mail didn't say anything about their staff hour. read more

This is by far the best deal in the city when it comes to gyms. I've been a member for just over a year now and have nothing but good things to say about this place. The equipment is all brand new, the facilities are always clean and the owners and personal trainers are very friendly. The gym is never crowded, even on peak hours. I called Snap Fitness to come in and take a tour of the facility and sign up for a 30 day trial pass. The gym is secured well, as I had to be buzzed into the gym upon arrival. The facility was nice and clean, weights were re-racked (my biggest pet peeve), and everything was well organized. The bathroom and shower area was nice and clean as well. After my visit I was supposed to complete a free fitness assessment with one of the female trainers. I was informed that she was actually unavailable and the General Manager Who was a male would be completing my assessment. I will say, I was a little discouraged because I was expecting a female trainer, as I have never trained with a male. Let me tell you, I am so glad I was able to do my assessment with the trainer Daniel. Daniel was extremely professional, polite and knowledgeable! He took his time and explained everything we were doing and corrected my form as needed. He answered all questions, as I had a lot to ask! This was one of the most pleasant experiences I've had with a trainer. I can tell if I chose to train with him he will indeed help me reach my desired goals. I highly recommend this gym, especially if you're looking for an all access 24 hour SAFE AND CLEAN facility! Way to go Snap Fitness and Daniel, you guys rock! read more

I've been a member now for almost 2 years. This gym is perfect for a person that hates to be bothered by salespeople, trainers trying to sell you packages, and other nonsense that you find in the big corporate gyms. It's open 24 hours with your electronic card and you also get 2 hour free parking in the building's garage. Just the right amount of equipment and TVs and not often that crowded, and it's clean. In fact, I've never had to wait for anything. It's kind of a do it yourself place, but I love that. And the bonus is a 24 hour Subway right underneath! read more

Cleanest gym I've been to. Theren the manager is great and keeps the club pristine at all times. I suggested to the owner to add a mirror behind the squat rack and they put one up a week later! The smith machine is usually not working. They got rid of some equipment like the cable cross over to put in a smaller one which was a dumb idea. I used the new smaller one just as soon as it was installed and it was assembled wrong. This used to be a decent gym now it sucks. read more

TL;DR Gym itself is great however the staff is very deceptive and will keep charging you monthly even after you gave the mandatory 1 month cancellation notice. UPDATE: They charged me again after I wrote this review for $40.60!!!!! Right after I wrote this review and posted it they charged me again for $40.60! I have never seen a business treat their customers like this. I want to give this 4 or 5 stars because the gym itself is great but I can't because the staff is deceptive. When I first signed up the guy I was talking to made it a big deal to tell me there are no "hidden fees" or anything like that... unfortunately for me this was not true at all. The first month I paid $35 which was the rate I was told so I was happy. The next month I was charged $44.95. I searched through my email and found a discrete message from snap fitness informing me they changed my base rate to $44.95. I received this email AFTER they changed the rate to $44.95. I was pretty upset they pulled a fast one on me so I went in to cancel my member ship. You have to give a months notice before you cancel your membership which was not really a big deal to me. I canceled my membership on January 29th which meant I would have to pay for February which I was fine with. I asked the guy 2 times to make sure I would NOT be charged in March and he assured me I would not. Now I am sitting here looking at my bank statement with a $44.95 charge for Snap Fitness.... read more
