I knew it was going to be an adjustment since I haven't been to a gym in 9 or so years (remember lifetime fitness?). I was worried I wouldn't know how to use the equipment and I would just look silly! That wasn't the case (well maybe I still looked silly but no one cared!). Any questions I had were answered beyond expectation! The gym is very clean, up to date, the equipment is friendly to use, towels are provided (cold ones too, which are amazing after breaking a sweat!!). I used my free consultation with Justin and he was wonderful! He pushed me even when I wanted to tap out! I know it was totally worth it and having someone to push you when you want to quit definitely helps! I look forward to going again tomorrow!! The only downside is the tanning bed is slightly out of date, but in all honesty it's unlimited for only and extra $10 a month. It's still well worth it!

I had missed 2 months of my $15/month charge, which I understand is not ok. I had called the third month to updated the account information with the front desk in West Haven and they had assured me that my account was updated and active. 2 months later I get a call from an attorneys office and they are collecting the entire amount of the 3 year membership. They will not let me back pay the 4 months! That is only $60 and now I have to pay the entire 3 year contract or they will send this to the credit bureau!! I understand the importance of being on-time with payments. Sometime there are circumstances that take a minute to sort out. It seems to me that they need the money to stay in business instead of letting a member get their account up to date after a frustrating life event....really? $60 and you are getting attorneys involved. Sounds like they really value their members! DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE!!

Upon arriving to use a free one-day trial pass (which was sent to me directly…read morefrom VASA and valid through October 26), I was treated very disrespectfully by one of the staff members, Matt. From the beginning, his demeanor came across as dismissive and condescending. I explained that I had just moved back to Ogden after being away for over 10 years and wanted to see how the facility had changed since the remodel before deciding whether to join. I haven't been a member since high school .....I am now a college graduate with a masters that should tell you how old I am now trying out this gym over a decade later. Instead of being welcoming or helpful, I was told I was "cheating the system" for using a one-day trial at another VASA location a month earlier for a gym I was deciding between LAYTON VASA OR OGDEN VASA !!!!. I found this accusation extremely unprofessional--especially since I was upfront about my intentions, showed the valid trial pass, and was simply trying to see if the gym would be a good fit. The website and trial confirmation text included no mention of restrictions for former members or using a free trial pass to try out a different location when you're not a member of VASA . To make matters worse, the interaction became unnecessarily confrontational, and no alternative option (such as purchasing a day pass) was offered. This entire situation could have been handled respectfully and professionally, but it was not. If it's like this for using a free trial pass for a day, I can only imagine what it's like being a fully committed member and trying to cancel your pass! Good luck !
