DO NOT JOIN VASA. Upon arriving to use a free one-day trial pass (which was sent to me directly from VASA and valid through October 26), I was treated very disrespectfully by one of the staff members, Matt. From the beginning, his demeanor came across as dismissive and condescending. I explained that I had just moved back to Ogden after being away for over 10 years and wanted to see how the facility had changed since the remodel before deciding whether to join. I haven't been a member since high school .....I am now a college graduate with a masters that should tell you how old I am now trying out this gym over a decade later. Instead of being welcoming or helpful, I was told I was "cheating the system" for using a one-day trial at another VASA location a month earlier for a gym I was deciding between LAYTON VASA OR OGDEN VASA !!!!. I found this accusation extremely unprofessional--especially since I was upfront about my intentions, showed the valid trial pass, and was simply trying to see if the gym would be a good fit. The website and trial confirmation text included no mention of restrictions for former members or using a free trial pass to try out a different location when you're not a member of VASA . To make matters worse, the interaction became unnecessarily confrontational, and no alternative option (such as purchasing a day pass) was offered. This entire situation could have been handled respectfully and professionally, but it was not. If it's like this for using a free trial pass for a day, I can only imagine what it's like being a fully committed member and trying to cancel your pass! Good luck ! read more

This is a wonderful gym. It is extremely lively, there is a fantastic selection of fitness classes. There is a wonderful large hot tub, sauna and steam room. All of this fun is available to you for an extremely low monthly fee. I cannot recommend them highly enough! read more

Lockerooms are nasty. Rarely if ever have they undergone a deep clean or a renovation. Management is more concerned removing amenities that are included in lower membership tiers (Cardio Cinema, Racquetball courts) and replace them with "Boutique" offerings like the Red classes that cost more $$$$ per month. When asked management about this, they simply said oh well, we can remove amenties whenever. Tons of kids enter facility as well without ever scanning in. Members themselves are rude and never shower before going in pool, hotub, etc. Just an overall gross VASA especially compared to the one in Clinton. read more

I go here because it is close to home, but not because I love it. The remodel has been going on for over 6 months, and so most amenities are not available. My main complaint is that it is always filthy. And that applies to every area of the gym. I see employees standing around daily - how hard would it be to add a cleaning schedule to their plate? UNSANITARY! If you come here for any court sports, be prepared to be disgusted. I've been playing here for years. They NEVER clean the floors. The dried sweat and blood just keeps adding up, layer on layer. It's been over 1 year since they have wet-mopped these floors in the racquetball court. We've asked week after week for this to be done, to no avail. They say the janitors are supposed to do it regularly, but they don't. The same stains have been there for MONTHS! This causes a serious safety problem. Staph infections come from conditions like these. Also, the door latch to the racquetball court is broken. It just comes apart when you pull it - another dangerous problem. They also knocked down a large wall to open up a new space, but it's been a dusty construction site with hanging tarps for months, with no progress on the work. Are they out of money or something? Didn't like the gym I called to have it canceled and turns out they never canceled it, went 2 months without realizing it and when I called on it today they still charged me and extra $25 to cancel and didn't refund any of my other money for THEIR mistake. Such bull, terrible customer service, also they advertise tanning and many of the facilities don't have it, the gym is always overpacked as well. Hated my experience here such a waste of money. I wish they had more studio red classes in the morning. They only have the crack of dawn at 5:30 AM or late morning at 9 AM on the weekdays. What about the people who want to workout at normal hours like 6:30, 7 or 7:30 AM? Why doesn't this gym have more workout classes in the morning? The customer service is the worst I've ever ever dealt with. I've never been charged with so many hidden fees in my life. When you sign up they don't tell you that in order to cancel you'll have to pay your membership fee, any additional fees like guest privileges, even if you're canceling weeks before your next billing period. Also, of course the wonderful $25 cancellation fee on top of that. You're better off going to Planet Fitness where they actually take care of their members and aren't just trying to squeeze as much money out of you as possible. read more

EVERYTHING is broke here. Hot tub, sauna, steam room, look across the treadmill volley and about a third of them are broke. On a good note, I showered while a homeless dude was in the stall next to me. They are helping the community. Probably not what I am paying to have a membership here. I would give more stars except for two reasons, one being far more important than the other. I will preface this by saying that I have had a membership here for quite sometime out of convenience and also keep missing contract cut off -dealing with cancelling a membership is major pain in my neck. I also kept the membership for tanning- which I occasionally used in the winter to elevate my mood, as I have SADD and to get a base tan in spring. They have removed the tanning beds- I'm sure because they aren't that healthy- but I feel like what I do to my skin is my prerogative. They are adding red light therapy, that's cool I guess. Be cooler if that gave me a tan. But the NUMBER ONE reason for 2 stars- it's FILTHY. The bathrooms have grime from floor to wall, sinks haven't been cleaned in ages, the sink is separating from the wall due to splitting caulk. The fans are caked with dust and columns layered with dirt and grubby hand marks. Place is falling apart. Management may need an upgrade, additional training or a good reality check. Yoga class was good, but I felt disgusting by the time I left that place. It's really gone down hill since I had been there last. People are probably getting sick when they go or have some really tough immune systems. read more

Been a member here for 2+years. The smell in the locker room is atrocious. On some days I can stand at one point on the floor, spin around, and observe five or six out of order signs. I know they must wait for a corporate maintenance person to show up, but this is just dumb. Send them! Some days the movie aerobic room doesn't have the screen turned on or the sound turned on or even a movie playing. It's like they just flip a switch and walk out and hope for the best. At least the employees aren't all just standing at the counter the entire time. The last few months have seen people actually going around to clean up the overflowing trash cans and refill the wipe containers. As bad as it was, I really miss planet fitness. read more

Let me tell ya...there are many days each month when I barely have the energy or motivation to get to thee gym. Some days are a better workout than others. I am LOVING the new process due to COVID because the gym is less crowded and I can get my workout in and go. It is cleaner than ever, too! That being said, those things would honestly matter a bit less if the employees were not so friendly. I am not saying they are all equal - they are not. Great customer service is expected and appreciated. Exceptional service should be noted and rewarded. I am always happy when ANTHONY is there. He treats me as though we have been friends forever. I've seen really appalling bathroom conditions here, hot tub and pool frequently shut down for who knows what. The gym is way overcrowded most of the time. The employees do not help when you need it. The drinking fountains- they show required maintenance needed and the lights on the filter status have been disabled for months. Who knows when the filter was changed last and when are they going to perform the scheduled maintenance?? read more

In my experience the equipment and staff at this location are fine. No special commendations or complaints. The problem is parking and accessibility. Depending on which direction you are coming from/going to, it is an absolute nightmare to get in or out of this VASA's parking lot. Especially around 6 pm. Additionally, this is a very busy parking lot and coming to this VASA ~5pm on a weekday often means you will be parking over by Shopko and hoofing it. I essentially have to subtract 15 minutes from my schedule every time I come to this location for getting into the parking lot, finding a spot, and getting out. Obviously none of this is the fault of the staff or this particular VASA location, but if you live close to another location it would be better to go there to avoid the hassles of parking, busyness, and getting in and out of the gym parking lot in a timely manner. read more

Don't do it!! This franchise is crooked. I thought I had cancelled my membership do to the pandemic. Months of not attending or being billed I randomly got charged an annual fee and membership fee. After waiting for half an hour for support (which is only available online) was bad. The tech talking to me leaves without any reasoning and I am to start over with Kamie Mulliner. Who also would not refund me the money I was robbed of. I understood that there must be a misunderstanding. I would unfortunately part with some of the money that was wrongfully taken. My girlfriend was on month to month and we moved. A different Vasa (Brickyard) started billing us and said they'd switch the account and make sure we weren't paying for two memberships. Turns out a collection agency just called and wanted $225 dollars for our "Ogden" membership. I explained the situation and they said they were just a collection agency and I could complain to Vasa, Vasa said I needed to call collection agency. Not a great experience and I feel ripped off. Be careful, billing seems to be a mess. I can't spend an afternoon sorting it out so I guess I just lose my money. Oh well live and learn but I won't be using this gym again ever. read more

There's a review on here from 2 years ago about appalling bathroom conditions and drinking fountain filters being bad. Looks like not much has changed. The men's showers are rarely cleaned and the bathrooms have definitely seen better days. The whole place just feels grungy. I joined at the Kaysville location and it's got me thinking adding 50 min to my morning commute may be worth it. Hope they clean this place up at some point. The potential is there. read more

Finally when you cancel they charge you out the butt they have a hidden fee if you're there for two months that they don't tell you about which cost $55 and they charge this annually and then if you leave before six months they charge you an additional $25 and if you're a day late on your payments they charge you another $25 very displeased will definitely never use a Vasa faculty again read more

I live in Riverton and get texts from this VASA everyday with no way to opt-out. I do not like that this business data mined my personal information. I never opted-in to receiving texts. I receive them at late hours in the night. This organization should be ashamed. This gym is utterly unable to keep SPA, steam room and sauna running all at the same time. One or the other or more, constantly broken, sometimes for months without any explanation. Currently the sauna was broken all week, the SPA is claimed to be "running" but the jets are so weak just as well sit under a garden hose. Pathetic, and these things never, never get fixed. They keep harassing me and trying to get me to sign up, and have never gave me a free trial, so if I can see if golds gym is better. Walking inside the first impression that hits me is this place is very open, spacious, and well lit. Just past the front door the staff, quite numerous, greeted and scanned my membership card for me. Every employee seemed real excited about their new location and it showed. I found the men's locker room to a bit small for the size of the gym. They desperately need more benches and with only 4 showers and one handicap stall, morning and even rushes will be interesting. On to the equipment...From free weights to machines everything is new. There's plenty of space between each item so no dodging and weaving needed going from marching to machine. I don't think there will be a shortage of treadmills with two areas dedicated to them. Love the range of TVs and specially the theater workout room, although the volume could be a bit louder to rise above the treadmill and breathing noises. Finally the parking is a bit chaotic and needs new striping and lane markers. Although this place has been only open for a few days, in fact they are still doing final touch ups around the place, I think Ogden has a great new place to work out thanks to VASA. read more
