So far, all of the staff and coaches are above and beyond courteous, knowledgeable, encouraging and willing to share knowledge to ALL levels. VASA Clinton used to feel like a member-friendly gym where I could just come in, work out, and enjoy being there. Unfortunately, their billing practices and member services have completely changed that experience for me. Every month, the app shows that I owe $0, making it look like my bill is paid or nothing is due. Then the next day, money is withdrawn from my account anyway. Because I'm relying on THEIR app for my account information, I'm not expecting the charge and then I can end up with additional fees. When I've tried to get a clear invoice showing what I owe and when, it has been unnecessarily difficult. I now spend what feels like an hour every month on the phone trying to sort out billing issues that shouldn't exist in the first place. The fees are also getting ridiculous. You can be charged for being six minutes late to a class, even though you're already paying an additional monthly fee for access to those services and that's IF you can even get into a class, because they're frequently full. It feels like VASA has become very quick to charge members fees while providing very little grace when their own app and billing system are confusing or inaccurate. If VASA is going to hold members to strict policies and charge fees at every opportunity, they should hold their own billing system and member services to the same standard. I used to really enjoy this gym. Now, instead of simply focusing on my workout, I'm regularly dealing with confusing charges, fees, and phone calls trying to figure out my account. Joined here about 3 weeks ago. I got injured running and it's getting cold, so I figured what the heck, why not get back in the gym to keep the demons away. Solid big box gym with a fair amount of equipment to choose from. They are missing some of my favorites, but no gym can be everything to everyone right? I haven't yet found a time that they aren't busy. I have tried morning and evenings, as well as the middle of the day, with no success. I like that they have a basketball court and I can shoot hoops for a cool down after my workouts. They have a lot of amenities that I haven't yet tried, but want to, including massage chairs (aqua-massage?). Staff is always really nice. read more

The maintenance here is bad. Some of the TV screens have been broken for almost 2 years. Also, the music they play is horrible. Sounds like they allowed some teenager to pick it garbage. They need to start thinking of the customer and not themselves. read more

Do not sign up for this gym. Go to any other gym. We signed our two boys up so they could work out for High school sports. My wife went into the gym to sign them up to make sure they would be good going by themselves. They are 14 and 15. My wife was told they could work out by themselves, even though the rules state under 18 must be accompanied. The two boys have been going to the gym religiously five days a week (Monday through Friday) for two months and then all of a sudden, they were not allowed to check-in. Wife asked for memberships to be cancelled and was told to go home and do it online. She goes home to cancel and there is a $25 cancellation fee, for each membership. Be honest and upfront with customers and this wouldn't have happened. read more

This VASA is beautiful inside and out... as it should be since it's brand new! The equipment is pretty standard to any other VASA. You'll have free weights, machines, plenty of cardio machines, a pool, racquetball courts, tanning beds/massage, basketball court, workout/aerobic classes, and a small functional training area. Downfall: everything is a little too crowded together. While they have a lot of equipment, it seems like a few too many machines were pushed into the space. Also, they only had 3 squat racks (opposed to the 4 at Layton), 1 decline bench (opposed to the 2 at Layton), 2-3 regular benches (opposed to 4 at Layton). I'm sure there are some other discrepancies as well, but this was just my observation after one visit. I'll be sticking to Layton just because of the distance from my home, but this is still a great facility. VASA is so cost effective, you really can't go wrong coming here. read more

This gym doesn't care about its members, the children at the front desk are rude and even yell at members. The gym is dirty, the bathrooms are disgusting, and there is a woman who works there that will tell you "lose one member gain ten members" her name is Sherri. The massage beds are always broken even though they are new and the workout equipment is old and worn out. I suggest going elsewhere for your workout needs. read more

The Comcast of gyms. Product is normally fine, but when it isn't the customer service is pretty bad. If it's not machines broken, it will be the hot tub being non-functioning. If you get lucky and those two things are in working order the workout cinema will have problems only corporate can fix. I'm sure they are trying, but ultimately the results speak for themselves. read more

A family member and I went to this Vasa today and not a single person was wearing a mask. It was very busy too. We are in the middle of a pandemic, public health safety should be one of the biggest concerns. This is a perfect example of why we are still in this stage of quarantine. Also, it seems as if the staff here is not very caring or helpful. You would expect to see them sanitizing, enforcing rules, and helping members, but they are doing nothing of the sort. I had to go home and go online in order to get my money back for my membership, because I will not put myself in that environment. Why couldn't they give me a refund while I was already there? It is sad to see so many careless people in one place. I don't think that there could be a good explanation as to why this location is still open. I will not be visiting the establishment until rules are enforced and followed, and I would not encourage you to visit either. read more

This is my first experience with any gym, and it has been positive. The desk staff is always courteous and helpful, and the place offers every sort of exercise opportunity, whether machines, weights, racquetball and basketball courts, swimming pool, guided classes, and more. I can't comment on membership pricing and so forth, because mine is totally free through SilverSneakers. I received a free initial consultation with a trainer, who set forth a program I've been following, and though I did not pay for ongoing coaching, she is still willing to answer questions. Her boss even gave me some guided instruction three months into my membership. The only things that could use some addressing are the temp, which should be cooler, unless they're wanting members to get their sweat on, and the terrible music, which I'm not sure even qualifies as music! However, all things considered, the place is an overall thumbs-up. read more

Gyms are a huge "you get what you pay for" kinda place. I have been from gyms ranging from $10 a month to $160 a month. Vasa does a good job trying to put a large variety of branches on the gym tree. The pros of that is you can do whatever your heart desire whether it be from free weights to TRX to swimming laps to spin cinemas. A downfall of a large variety is the size of the individual areas will be smaller. Being a fan of the free weight section, it frustrates me seeing wasted space on unused areas like Huge TRX setups or overly large grass turf areas, which rarely have more then 1 person on it. However I understand the structure that Vasa is aiming for so I deal with it. If I wanted to go to just big iron and plate dropping gym and pay more I could, but Vasa does just fine for now. Plus for 10-20 a month for multiple locations, I won't complain at all. read more

Had a really great experience here the other night, was given a tour by Evelyn and she was so helpful and answered all my questions and helped me understand everything. Ended up going for a fitness membership and she stayed and helped me figure out my app and how to set it up. Very friendly staff, I will definitely be visiting again soon! : ) read more

Best gym I have joined. I have tons of great things to say about the place. Very clean , plenty of equipment and helpful staff. I love little details like a swim suit dryer so my suit isn't soaked in my bag, a green turf area, plenty of massage chairs and I love they have rowing machines. (Not always at the gyms I previously went to.) The app has your pass which is awesome to not need to add something to my keyring. They give points out for going and you can earn prizes. Most info you need is easily found on the app. Probably my only negative experience here was from My first visit. I was offered on the spot a free personal training session from a trainer who had free time. This particular gal seemed more interested in showing off what she knew and what she could get me to do instead of learning about where I am at and making sure she knew my health issues before she had me do anything that could hurt me. I was not impressed by her overly sales tactic session she called a "training session". (Having said that, I know this does not mean all trainers there are like this. I have since learned about and from a few others there that I would love to train with one day) Kids child care: very clean. Great open spaces. I did cancel this option as I often change when I am going depending on what my families schedules are. You have to make an appointment to bring your kids in. If they are full you have to choose a diff. Time. This felt like it was more of a headache to get to the gym with kids so I just opt not to bring them now. Thought it was great they have a whiteboard on the bathroom door to write the name of which kid is in there so they always know where each child is at all times. Loved that little detail from the few times we did use the child care. Hot tub is not as hot as others I have been in. Very quickly feels like warm bath water. But is clean and I still look forward to relaxing in it. Locker rooms/shower stalls very clean. I have enjoyed using these on busy days and love how well they keep this area nice. read more

This gym is not a gym. Yes it's physically a gym, but the people who run/work here do not understand what a gym is or should be. First off, 0500 is too late to open. Just go 24 hour. A great example is today! 0520 and the gym STILL isn't open and there are about 40 people standing around outside waiting... not sure when it opened but that's when I left. So. Fucking. Frustrating. I could get into the equipment, but it's functional. The only good thing is its location. I'm done venting. Get better Vasa, get better. read more

My wife was doing personal training. Because life happens, the trainer had to cancel a couple of appointments, and so did we. We agreed with him that we would make those sessions up. My wife ended up becoming pregnant towards the end of the contract and she told the trainer that she would not be able to renew the contract after it was over but still wanted to make up the sessions missed. The trainer said that was fine and we shouldn't have any more charges after the original length of the contract was up. Fast forward, and we have been charged for two more weeks after our contract was up and were told that we never canceled our renewal, which were never told we would have to. This gym has now taken $300 over two weeks without authorization and so far has refused to do anything about it. Do yourself a favor and avoid doing business with them. We are still trying to get this resolved with the trainer and lead, but I feel like we've been scammed. read more

Staff is friendly, love how much there is available on the basic membership. The only complaint I have is how dirty the floors and machines are. Where I normally work out gets a lot of Sun, and it's easy to see that it never gets clean. I took some of the antibacterial wipes to the machine I normally use, and the first few wipes were blank and brown. I clean that machine regularly myself now. If the working staff aren't going to clean, please consider hiring a janitor, or let a regular get a free membership in exchange for cleaning every time they go. First off, I REALLY do like the spin classes! The instructors are great! Very friendly, very motivating, all have been good. What erks me is they are not oriented towards having family members attend with you! I purchased the friends/family/guest pass(whatever it's called), bought the get everything membership, asked all the right questions explaining what my needs were. No big deal, my 17 year old daughter has attended with me 7-8 times, now I'm told she needs her own membership because she is under 18. WTH? Obviously whoever signed me up didn't understand me, but how is a pass for visitors not acceptable but someone under legal age is required to have their own membership? Bringing a guest anyway is a total pain in the rear even if their age is over 18. I like the equipment, not liking the front office read more

Do not sign up! They tell you you will get a free personal trainer class and will call corporate to make sure your card is not ran. Which is a lie and they start charging you $80 every two weeks. And refuse to refund you. I loved the gym and the atmosphere but the sales managers are just there to hustle you. Their customer service also sucks. Save your money and go somewhere else read more

I'm honestly surprised to see all these negative reviews on here. I've been going to this gym for over a year and I've never had any issues. I signed up for personal training sessions about 3 months ago and everything was explained to me clearly and they haven't charged me any "extra fees" the staff is nice and friendly. Do not under any circumstances sign up for this gym. We signed up for a trainer with the understanding the $80 fee was paid at time of use. Turns out the $80 fee is taken out every two weeks along with your monthly dues wether you utilize the trainer or not. Then we were just charged a yearly fee which amounted to $154 for my wife and 74 for me. The person who signed us up indicated that we were receiving a promotion and the yearly fee was waved. VASA refuses to even negotiate in good faith to cancel our trainer membership. Do not go to this gym. The promise of $20 membership is BS. If I could have selected zero stars I would have. read more

3 months later, they can't figure why their payment is pending on my card yet they are happy to charge a late fee and harass me every time I walk in and call me multiple times a day yet do nothing to resolve the issue. Awesome facility, parking is great, the people that works here in Clinton are super nice. I'm taking classes and all the trainers are WONDERFUL, Charlene on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays is so kind and great exercises, Amy on Wednesday. She has so much energy and the music helps a lot. The only thing that they can improve is keep the pool a little more warm. I will like to know if you are going to keep warn the water, today Monday l went to the class at 10 and the water was COLD. Overall the gym experience here is great. I do love the classes and I love the required distancing during class because I love my space. However, VASA customer service overall is TERRIBLE! I have been trying for over a month to get my membership switched over to a corporate one through my husbands job. No one at the gym has any clue and so they can't help me I have called their help number multiple times and emailed every email that has been given to me. No one has emailed me back about it yet! This membership is one that allows me to go to multiple gyms in the area as long as they are on the list. I went to EOS and it took 15min to get a membership there. They were super helpful and KNEW what they were doing. EVERYONE I have talked to at Vasa has been clueless. Even the people on the phone couldn't help me and it took hours to get an opportunity to talk to someone. They ended up calling me back. The first time I called and asked to be called back and no one did. This is ridiculous! It shouldn't be this difficult! I am ready to just forget Vasa altogether! read more

Then I find out (through social media) that there are fees associated with cancelling. So, I contacted my bank, now they are trying to charge me for 3 more months. Disgusted. read more

I seriously have had so many problems with this Clinton fitness I was going to was for about four years in the last two years of it nothing but issues and matter fact they ended up giving me almost a year free because they were overcharging me well given the pandemic and everything and me being a high-risk I stopped going to the gym and worked out at home I ended up closing my account as well as they were going to charge me a yearly service fee even though I was going to close it and I told him absolutely not I ended up paying my monthly and paying the service fee now complete year later I'm in collections owing $100 First of all you can't close your account unless you pay them ahead of time they refuse to close it as well as I have my bank statements and a letter or an email from them telling me they were sorry about the closing it but it was closed ! Unless you want billing problems and to get charged for a different plan and over charged and in collections I suggest stay away from vasa they are HORRIBLE ..... read more
