I became a member at Snap Fitness in Rita Ranch in February 2 years ago. I participate in Small Group Training Sessions 4 days a week. The coaches who facilitate these sessions are highly trained and very knowledgeable regarding becoming more fit. In addition, they share numerous ways to enhance nutritional intake. Jared, Andy, Luke and Cat, continue to encourage me in my fitness journey, during every session I attend! I look forward to coming each day. There aren't many gyms in the area. This is a good spot if you're looking for open gym workouts. I've never had a problem getting a rack for squats. It's a smaller gym but there's always clean equipment to use. read more

Clean gym with friendly and helpful staff. Only complaint I have is that it's small with a very aggressive class schedule. Naturally, classes are set up at the busiest times because that fits the majority of people's schedules. Which can make it hard to get to equipment or plates if you're trying to work out at the same time. Still, it's 24/7 so if you're not against changing your own schedule, it's a great place to work out at. Just not everyone wants to work out really late or 03:00 in the morning. read more

I have been attending Snap Fitness since February. Initially, I was still recovering from a total knee replacement I had gotten several months prior. Over these last many months, as a result of the knowledgeable and competent coaches, Shena, JD, Luke and Jared, I can say that my knee is fully healed. 24/7 gym that has all the equipment you need. Snap is busy during the early morning and mid afternoon. The atmosphere is friendly yet you can work out in peace. Squats racks are limited during class hours, but two are available. I've seen the facilitated work outs and they seem good. Overall a nice place and you can't beat the price. Tried to join this gym after touring several others, we walked in and stood at the front door for about 5 minutes before anybody noticed. Then we were greeted and told to wait at a table to sign some paperwork. We sat there for about 30 minutes until the same guy came back up to us and said that we could not join due to our status because they were only giving our key cards to premium members and to try again in a few days.. I work during all of there staffed hours so the 24 hour access I thought was a huge plus.. I was wrong the service is not good at all I would not recommend this place to anybody I know. Words cannot express fully how amazing the trainers at Snap Fitness East are. They are always welcoming and friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a 24/7 very basic gym, this will suit you. But For someone who lifts, there are many reasons I won't be renewing. There are not enough plates or free weights, and you have to borrow plates from other racks. I often couldn't even get enough weight on my bar bc they just didn't have enough plates. My biggest pet peeve is that they have a class every day and reserve all of the squat racks for a few hours in the morning and afternoon (the time most people want to use them). And they don't have a lot of the basic equipment such as power towers, hack squat, etc. Wish it was better because it's the only gym nearby. read more

I'm almost a plank owner here. I joined in 2009. I was just scrolling through the old reviews. I do not understand the scorching some reviewers have written about Manager Dave and staff. Yes, it's a small gym. If you want a smoothie bar, a pool, sauna, locker room with attendant.... Well not here. But they have everything you need for strength and cardio. Dave and staff have always been professional and friendly. The Houghton Road facility was the lone survivor of Duceys twice closures for the China Flu. That says something. read more

I have been attending this snap fitness for years, but never signed up for the 8 week fitness and nutrition program. I'm gonna tell you it was the best thing I ever did. I was at my wits end trying to figure out the proper meal plan and exercise program that works for me. Dave (Owner) and his crew, Cristina, JD and Jared were nothing but attentive and knowledgeable about the entire training program. They always were available to answer any and all questions you had whether about food choices or weekly motivational tips. I started ate 184 and lost 13 lbs and lost 5% body fat and gained 3lbs muscle all from following the program and doing the workout 2x week! Keto diet worked best for me, but they will tailor the plan to your lifestyle and allergies. Snap is a fantastic neighborhood gym! This is not an impersonal "big box" gym, you are greeted by name as you enter. The staff is helpful, knowledgable, and friendly, they have any kind of weight or cardio equipment you could want, and the small group training sessions are challenging, but can be personalized to accommodate any level of fitness. Frequently lacks sanitation resources, blaring music piped in is usually trashy rap, this apparently suits management standards.

Only reason I am giving this location a One-Star is because they signed me up for an additional membership without my permission and then signed the electronic confirmation form for me as well. Luckily my Credit Card hasn't been charged but this is super shady and unacceptable. Luckily Snap Fitness corporate doesn't take complaints about their franchises, nevertheless, it's unacceptable for a company to assume I am still in need of their service and then proceed to sign documentation with my personal information attached without my consent. Very unprofessional and I would not recommend anyone using this location as their go to gym, regardless of the location. read more

Wow, read all this reviews. I was a member of this gym when it first opened and can say 100 percent the bad reviews are all true. My son who was 17 and playing high school football and grunted when when squatting and pressing was asked to stop. The next day I was called by this Dave guy and told if my son did not stop grunting, he was going to pull his membership. When I told him go ahead, he said I needed to give 30 days written notice. When I went to the club to get a form or whatnot i was greeted by a female who said she was the assistant manager and said "There are no forms, just send to us in writing that you are submitting your 30 days notice. I then wrote my notice for my wife, son and myself, I paid actually for 60 days notice when only required 30. After the 60 days of notice to stop coming, I stopped paying. About 2 weeks later I received a call from "Dave". He was asking "Where were my gym dues?". I told him I spoke with his assistant manager 2.5 months earlier and followed her instructions to mail my notice of cancellation of month to month contract. I paid not 30 but 60 days of membership after submitting my request both in person and in writing. I was stalked on my cell, my wife's cell and my sons cell by this muscle head duche bag. It did not stop till I threatened leagal action for unfair debt collection practices. This guy called my cell 9 times in 1 day. People, look at the reviews. They are all woman and this muscle head kisses up to all of.them. stay clear, my son left and went to several other good gyms.. Any are better. Then settled for the gym at the UofA. read more
