They stuck around even after FAO Schwarz left downtown. I think it became hard running a toy store in Downtown Seattle. High office vacancy, low foot traffic, Seattleites not having kids. This store may have been running off fumes after covid too. People who work in the area probably felt the same way when Elliott Bay Book Company moved out of Pioneer Square in 2010. I used to come here on my break. Then I changed jobs and it was harder to visit. It's sad to know this store closed and I wish all the employees the best.

They try to be fair and they pull up prices at the counter if you wanna try price matching or bargaining, and it's nice to be in a safe space with other neurodivergent people silently raking through piles of Lego :) Sold them a big Lego house and two old technic race cars for a good price and it was an overall pleasant experience! It didn't feel like they were trying to low ball for a better price, they pulled up what it's worth on eBay and said point blank "it's a couple hundred dollars" (because it was) and we saw the toy being sold on the shelf for a fair price a few weeks later. Completely happy with the exchange, happy to support a local small toy business. No complaints, and I love bringing friends and family visiting from out of town to this cozy little location. Helps that it is walking distance from the T&T that just opened in Factoria!

I went to visit Redmond for the weekend and I just so happened to come across this store at the Town Square plaza, in which they had a new restock of various Pokemon cards. There were quite a few people waiting outside for the store to open. Eventually, an employee unlocks the front door and comes out with a box filled with random numbers. Instead of just running in the store and buying everything, the employees have a number system. You pull a number out of a box and that is your place in line. The numbers range from 1-45 or so. Once in the shop, each person is only allowed to purchase one Pokemon pack, bundle, or ETB a day. If someone wanted more, then they'd have to come back the next day. That means you must choose your product wisely. I can't tell you enough how much I love that system. In a world full of scalpers, I totally respect this place for not allowing that sort of garbage happening in their shop. I would also like to praise them for their amazing prices. For the most part, they sell Pokemon cards at close to MSRP prices. It's a little over, but not by much. If you want a First Partner pack, it'll usually cost you $50, but I got mine at Uncle's for $25. That was such a great deal because I got my Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle set, and an SIR Mega Kangaskhan ex. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely come support this place.
