Cute store, dangerous for me to be in if someone doesn't take my wallet at the front door. Staff was friendly and they were switching out whole aisles for Easter cards. Plenty of cute stuffed toys and sweet treats to choose from and it's a perfect gift shop for you to find a little something for a coworker or friend! If you asked me 4 years ago I would have given this store a 4 out of 5. Today I'd give it a zero. There's several issues. First, the website is not very user friendly. I pay for Hallmark+ and there's rewards/coupons for a free card and instead of linking directly to the free card online you gotta hunt for the qualifying cards. Then if you order on the website it asks you to choose your main store, it shows you the store where you will pick up, and then once you hit send it sends it to another store. IF you don't notice it because you trusted the website and you try to pick up in the store of your choice the Covington employee will laugh at you. Cause that's super helpful. The Covington store has a really bad issue with customer service. The employees are in the habit of not even saying hi when you walk up to the counter. They just ask for your phone number. They disregard your app that reflects that you pay $80 a year for Hallmark+...and certain employees like Jazmine are just plain rude. Hallmark doesn't offer anything special. I'm sorry but it feels outdated. I used to love shopping in Hallmark but now I truly have to force myself to find something to spend my monthly $5 reward on. The only reason I keep Hallmark after today's experience is my autistic child loves to go pick a card each month and loves watching the Hallmark channel. Otherwise, I'd definitely cancel because no one deserves to be laughed at, disrespected and taken for granted, and to have their time wasted because the website sends your order to the wrong city. And no, I'm not driving 1.5 hours roundtrip in heavy traffic for a coffee cup. I just cancelled the order. read more

I came here a few months ago just to buy one card for someone because I was nearby, and they had a lot of cards on sale, marked down for cheap. Haven't seen a Hallmark store in years. Seemed like 90% of the store was kitsch and not much in greeting cards at all with the bins pretty sparse looking. I've seen much better cards at places like Papyrus and Paper Destiny. The clerk that offered to help me was kind and added a free gift box for a small gift that I also purchased. read more

This Hallmark store is freaky big and, if you're like me and you like gift shops and stationery stores, be prepared to spend a lot of time in here. A LOT. This place has SO much more than greeting cards. There now carry "Life is Good" merchandise (adorable shirts and hats and, yes, LIG greeting cards, too. So cute!), womens' scarves and bracelets and cute ring holders, picture frames, photo albums, stuffed animals, baby gifts, graduation gifts, Mothers' and Fathers' Day gifts, religious gifts (sculptures and plaques for Jesus and the like), and stuff for all other holidays (Valentines Day, St Paddy's Day, XMas and Hanukkah too). In fact, today when I visited, they had items from these past holidays, all on sale (fro 40-75% off). There were beautifully packaged VDay chocolates (and the boxes weren't screaming VDay, so one could gift them now for a hostess gift or bday or anniversary gift, etc), and boxed holiday cards and Easter-themed gifts, all for a steal. They also carried kids' toys and puzzles and some craft kits. There were some great Seahawks merchandise, too (which I love!) and Hawks XMas ornaments from years past, and you could pre-order Hawks ornaments for 2016 too (I was so tempted! I love my Richard Sherman!) Of course, they have aisles of cards, too. But here's where I was somewhat surprised: many of the cards were of an "adult humor" and some were downright risqué. Not what I typically expected from Hallmark. They definitely have changed with the times, and I think for the better. I laughed aloud at many cards and I'm sure anyone who may have heard me thought me batty. (Like I care!). Here's the main reason I'm giving this store a solid 5 stars: the guys who work here are pretty darn amazing. I was interested in purchasing, among other things, a baseball that was stitched with a heart on it. It was in the VDay section, discounted, and I thought it would make a nice anniversary gift for my hubby. There were only two of them. But one had a cracked case, and the other had defective stitching. They two guys working in the store took the time to open the taped-up cases and put the better ball in the intact case and re-tape it. It was quite the operation and they said they were happy to do this. Plus I was interested in a signature card but it was all sealed up and I couldn't see it clearly. They opened that up, too, for me to check out the card interior. These guys went above and beyond the call of duty to help me out and for that, I am so grateful. I am now a loyal fan of this store and plan to return for all future card and Hallmark gift purchases. read more

The staff is really, really friendly. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by two ladies, and one of them later told me she was the manager of the place. I came in here to shop for cards and gifts, and somewhat found what I was looking for. My friend, who I was getting a birthday present for, collects Jim Shore figurines, so wanted to get a figurine from here that would go with her collection. Unfortunately they don't have a large selection of Jim Shore figurines, so was unable to get one for her. But I was able to find some other items, including a limited edition Russell Wilson ornament! It seems like there are fewer and fewer Hallmark shops or other card shops. They appear to be a fading trend. People are buying Greeting cards at larger stores or making or designing them online. The store is good but it seems like their selection is much less nowadays and sometimes empty bins. My biggest gripe is not with the store but with Hallmark and other greeting card companies. It seems like the cards are not as good as they used to be. The writers are much worse. I could do better than most of them. It is difficult to find a card that exactly matches the recipient while in the past, I would find 5-6 that I had to choose from. They now seem too sappy, too simple or too stupid. One word or a simple sentence that any elementary school student could write or they make a very nice filly card with an inflated price. I also don't like that they push the Hallmark rewards card every time. It seems like all stores want your phone number and email. I don't want to give it to anyone unless I have to due to the fact that at home and work I am initiated with many unnecessary phone calls and emails especially someone selling something. A good air horn is an effective deterrent. read more

I am a fan of getting cards for special and random occasions. There is always a large selection, it's well stocked, and cards for any occasion. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about where different cards will be. There's also a lot of random gifts suitable for mom's or grandma's - sentimental type gifts. You can find a lot of clearance stuff too marked down low after the holidays - just a random fact! :) Good for a quick stop if you're nearby - everyone secretly loves getting a nice random card every now and then and don't forget to ask for your Hallmark sticker =) read more
