Most charming bookstore on the Eastside. If you're looking for a local Shop Around the Corner (You've Got Mail), this is the spot for you. It's full of charm and whimsy. Staff are attentive and helpful when needed.

Came by looking for my favorite journal. Boo. Not to be found. They carried a wonderful spiral bound journal that made it possible to write wrote and write! Easygoing page turning. The journal section was moved and different. Still a bunch of really cute journal choices but not my favorite and expensive. Doesn't change the fact that this book store is absolutely charming. So many knick knacks and special items for purchase. From socks, journals, cards, and more. And of course! Books. A clean pleasant place to meander and relax. Friendly people who love their job. I overheard some Mercer Island tea while searching for my journal. Apparently, Michelle Obamas Mom used to live on the island and or go to school on the Island. Anyways, if you love books come here!! SYOY.

What an adorable local, indie bookstore. I had a few minutes before a work meeting on Mercer Island, so I stopped by Island Books to browse. What I found was an adorable bookstore with cute nooks and crannies to sit in and read - with some added merch thrown in. The whole vibe of this bookstore was just so welcoming; I truly wish I had hours to browse.

I might reveal my age by saying this but this bookstore reminded me the movie " you've Got Mail" where the owner of a little bookstore and her grandmother were surviving and fighting this new huge book-super store like Barnes and noble. This store is magical with lots of character, you can tell they've put their hearts and souls organizing and decorating it. What I loved the most were these sticky notes posted on certain covers with recommendations of those books. What a thoughtful idea for potential new readers!!! Books are organized by subject (dah! Like any other bookstore) BUT, here's the big difference, each area has its own space and ambience (for example the FOOD BOOKS area includes items for the kitchen available to purchase.) Definitely, the biggest area is the Children's book. They have ALL of them, new ones, old ones, for toddlers, new readers, famous characters, believe me.. ALL of them. Plus they also sell toys. Heaven for kids!!!! This is the perfect shop for holidays, you can find presents for everyone: books, calendars, toys, cards, kitchen items!! SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PLACE!! Nicely done Mercer island, nicely done

I love coming to this book store. Yes, it's a bit pricey... but it's also quality. This little gem provides a wide variety of resources and support. I have been here a few times and understand the importance of small business. If you need to get a meaningful gift for someone this place has you covered. Are you traveling? Do you have children? This is such a great location to find things you don't see everyday. #ThankYouThursday

Nice eclectic selection, friendly and helpful staff. I always find something I want to read here. A hidden gem on Mercer Island.

This is a shop dedicated to the Washington artisans making awesome, unique goods. This place is…read moregreat for gifts and souvenirs (and much more reasonably priced than the airport kiosks who jack up the price since they know you're a captive audience) from art to food to blankets and tchotchkes. They had samples of tea and coffee to try before committing to an entire bag which is pretty considerate. One of the workers was very helpful in explaining their coffee selection and how it was roasted. Yes, some items still have a mark up, but you're paying for the convenience of all the stuff being in one place. They can't exactly draw you in with a loss leader. I bought some Fran's Gray and Smoked Salt Caramels and I've been slowly enjoying them since!

MADE IN WASHINGTON @ BELLEVUE…read more Made in Washington is located inside Bellevue Square, and mall parking is free in any of the garages. I'd recommend parking under Macy's or H&M. There's usually plenty of parking, but on weekends it can get very busy, so you may have to circle a bit. This was my first time visiting Made in Washington, and it's a great stop if it's your first time in Seattle and you want to check out locally made products. As soon as you walk in, there's a lot of chocolate, along with kitchen décor, lotions, and soaps. Some items are on the pricier side, but there are also more affordable options. My mom and I found a lotion for about $14 that smelled amazing. They also offer plenty of samples, which I really liked. Overall, the value is pretty decent, you'll find some things you love and some you may pass on. The only downside was the customer service. No one greeted or acknowledged us, and it felt like most of the staff stayed behind the register. Despite that, I still had a great experience and would recommend stopping by if you're looking for gifts or products that are made in Washington.
