I try something different each time I come here and it's always delicious. This time I had the enchiladas suizas and they were the best enchiladas I've had in years! The green enchilada sauce was so fresh that I could taste the tomatillos as if they were plucked right off the vine! The melted cheese had that cheese pull that social media influencers go crazy for, and the corn tortillas tasted soft and comforting. This food rivals that of Sol Agave and Red Iguana. The interior is really cool too. Dimmed lighting, dark brown wooden floors that give it a sophisticated air, ropes and wood crates and a custom-designed counter that definitely takes you oceanside. We were some of the first customers to arrive on a Saturday and our food took a while to make (30-45 minutes). But the flavors, fresh ingredients and happy service that made us feel like family, all made it worth the wait. read more

Umm Snapper is the best restaurant in south Utah county. I would put the two entrees we got above Sol Agave level. We got the Tacos de Pescado (fish tacos) and Enchiladas Suizas w/ Chicken. A+ on the tacos. A++ on the enchiladas. It's a level up from other restaurants in the area. It is slightly more expensive ($15-20 entrees). Worth it. Fresh, made from scratch. Excellent guacamole and salsas. Amazing sauce on the enchiladas. The inside of the restaurant is designed really cool. It has cool brick, lanterns, painted areas. Awesome Mexican vibe, nice plates etc. It's a higher end feel. Good place for a date night but still has families in there. Our server was great, other people kept checking with us and they were very nice and pleasant. The manger (owner?) came by and I talked to her for a few minutes and told her how good our food was. She was telling me about how every single thing is made from scratch. It really was good. I was pretty surprised that this place has been just sitting there on Main Street in Payson. Have visited twice for pick up service. The food is we've tried is excellent, although I'm not sure we've ever really found a full menu online via their website or through Yelp. The interior is quiet, cool, and nicely appointed. There are roughly fourteen double tables inside and several exterior tables on the sidewalk along an artificial stream that runs down Main Street. Rather new established & have eaten at other restaurants in this new revitalized main strip in Payson. They did a nice job creating the feel for this place & upon arrival there were 3 tables of people getting ahead of the 6 pm dinner rush. Initially they had one waitress & a bus boy working & was seated quickly. Made my choices kicking off with chips, salsa & Steak fajitas. In this restaurant you pay for chips / salsa ($5) & while they were ok, it took awhile to arrive, maybe less than 5 minutes before my dinner arrived thus essentially pushing them aside to bring home. The fajitas had a great presentation & the onions were Caramelized nicely but the steak needed more flavor / more spice & some of the strips were overcooked. The rice was plain, no flavor to speak off but lime helped, beans looked like the type that came out of a pork and beans can. The condiments were veggie mix that was good. Luckily I arrived early as larger groups were showing up and then additional waitresses appeared. Staff was very friendly and worked very hard but seemed to be understaffed, probably due to being a new business. Prices were on the higher end but there were a few items to choose from that weren't as expensive. The only recommendations I have are to include one round of complimentary chips and salsa and to move the sign from outside about no outside drinks to a less visible place inside (or get rid of it if it's not much of a problem). It kind of kills the welcoming vibe. That being said. This is a great new addition to Payson. The food has so much potential but just seemed to lack the freshness and flavor. The chips and salsa was not complimentary as is in most Mexican Restaurants. Half of the chips were stale the salsa tastes as if it was out of a jar lacked flavor. The carne asada plate was good it had the lost flavor. The tacos were small and the meat was not seasoned great. The fish tacos had a great presentation but were clearly frozen fish stick that were deep fried. The Hibiscus water was fantastic it had the right amount of sweet and tart. I would hope they work out some of the kinks over time but as it stands the food lacked true Mexican flavor and was extremely overpriced. read more

Tried Snapper for the first time tonight and we will definitely be back. The food was beautiful and flavorful. We had the Birra Tacos and the Enchiladas Suzias. Friends had fajitas and Augachiles and enjoyed those as well. The service was so friendly and attentive and the owner came out to thank us and make sure we were well taken care of. Ambiance was nice and owners seem nice. Food was just okay for me and they don't provide any chips and salsa which was odd for a Mexican restaurant. Especially notable because we had to wait over 30 mins. or more for our food. I've tried them a few times and every time there is some sort of issue where the run of out of avocados or limes or certain dishes or they close early. The professionalism and customer service could definitely use some improvement. We tried the fried fish and it was pretty doughy/thick and over-cooked and the shrimp tacos which were okay but not memorable.
