The only good thing about this place was the waitress who helped us she was 10/10. The food is not good. My bean and beef burrito was squishy and disgusting with no flavor and wayyyy to much cheese on top. The salsa was tolerable if you like tomato sauce with no spice. The restaurant is tiny and cramped and too hot and theres bugs. Its like a dive bar but not in a good way. We used to eat here twenty years ago when we lived in Springville. One of our fondest memories is that they would bring our three year old daughter her own plate of grated cheese. It was fun to return after all these years. They're still liberal with the cheese and inflation has definitely hit the prices. We finally made the drive out to La Casita in Springville after hearing about it from friends, and now we're just wondering why it took us so long. This place is one of those hidden gems you don't expect to find--nothing fancy, super casual, always busy--but the food and service are absolutely worth it. The first thing you'll notice is how huge the menu is. They've got everything: burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, seafood, breakfast plates, vegetarian options--you name it. It's the kind of place where you could come back over and over again and still not make a dent in the full selection. We tried a few different things, but the standouts for us were the chile relleno and the beef tacos. The chile relleno was perfectly cooked, stuffed with cheese, and covered in a sauce that's honestly one of the best we've had. It's rich without being heavy and adds so much to every bite. The beef tacos were simple but hit the spot. The meat was well seasoned, and the lettuce on top had this dressing that somehow tied everything together in the best way. Even though it was packed when we arrived, the service was fast and efficient. We didn't wait long to be seated or served, which is always appreciated when a place is clearly popular. It's not a place for ambiance or a long, quiet meal--it's loud, casual, and full of people who know what's good. If you're in Springville or anywhere nearby, La Casita is worth a visit. We now regularly make the 20-minute drive from Orem. The food is consistently good, the portions are generous, and it's the kind of spot that quickly becomes a go-to once you've tried it. After 12 years its time to update things. There's not much that needs changing. As the review has always said -- the restaurant almost never changes. This is the near perfect mix of hole in the wall and classic Americanized Mexican food. It's all comfort. I started coming here in 1978 or 1979 until 1985 when we moved away from Springville. I moved further North and come less often. Each time I come I wonder why I settle for the lesser places in my area. I only came once in the last few years when the place didn't seem as spot on as normal It's rare. Some reviews with only one bad experience should not color whether you should come or not. I've been a regular to semi regular for over 40 years and the place never changes. The last few years we get here monthly. I think that's a good thing. On my last trip I took my boy whose in his 40's. He has been coming here since he was a toddler and said it was the one place in the valley that's always been the same, or better, for his whole life. I agree. The nacho's are huge and tasty. The crab enchilada had to leave as they work to keep the price down. It's shrimp, now. The chile verde is my favorite. I don't know about the standard burritos and what not. I don't order them. They also make the best margarita in the valley. Despite the archaic liquor laws, they turn out something that tastes like it has Tequila in it and has traditional flavors. Bravo. read more

We had a good time at this location! We went when they were just opening and we were the first people to sit down so service was very quick and friendly. They had a little salsa bar that you could choose an array of different flavors from and add on to your dishes. The overall atmosphere was cool. Being tucked into a shipping container was a neat aspect and ewe enjoyed that they also had a little outdoor patio. heavy improvements are needed at this place. i'm sure it was pretty good or okay 20 years ago, but for bragging about being open for 40+ years........... not a good look food: 1/10 - 1 goes for the chips being warm & not stale. lots of refills. the salsa is pretty watery & weird. our plates of food were swimming in water somehow, LOL. Not juicy, not flavorful, literally just hot water coming from the middle of an enchilada, tamale, & chile releno. also, besides swimming in water, it was also swimming in cheese. I've been here a few times, so when a friend said we should meet out for dinner and offered this up as a choice I was like "oh yes"! But I forgot that getting into the parking is tricky. You either have to turn left against scary, busy traffic, or turn at the light and go behind the restaurant through the neighborhood so you can ultimately turn right into the parking lot. I thought I was being sneaky by trying if to go through the gas station, but the two parking lots don't match up so I had to turn around. I ordered tamales and they were delicious! But I forgot how spicy this place could be and I was already starting to hit my limit with the complementary salsa and chips but pushed through the yummy pain when it came to my entrée. Overall great beans and rice, flavor of meat and texture of the tamale! Our service was quick and easy and the restaurant full of charm! Definitely loved the sculptures out front. read more

Sooo much food!!!! My husband and I stopped in as we passed through town and it was a great choice! The salsa had huge chunks of tomato and onion and was absolutely delicious. I had the taquitos rancheros which were taquitos topped with sautéed onion, sour cream and guacamole and they were delicious. It came with rice and beans and the beans were so cheesy. My husband had the # 15 which was a chili relleno and enchilada with rice and beans. Both meals were great and the portions were huge. The waitress was wonderful and made sure our drinks didn't go empty. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area. read more

My family has been coming here for GENERATIONS! They are amazing workers and the food is fantastic!!!! They're very go go go but believe me your bowl of chips will always be full. I am currently pregnant and this is the only place I want to eat, it's so amazing!! Their salsa is the perfect mild and there chips are homemade, fresh, and warm and to DIE FOR!! Their guacamole is amazing but very mellow and not that chunky so if that's not for you maybe skip the guac. My one and only order always is the #32 two chicken enchiladas verde!! Their verde sauce is the best sauce I have ever had!! I've tried to recreate it and it just cannot be done!! Their Spanish rice is also AMAZING I skip the beans and go for extra rice and it's delicious!!! I've tried their chicken tacos too and they put this dressing on it and they're amazing too!! Just moved to Springville in March and I would drive by this place and want to try it. I finally tried it and it didn't disappoint. We really enjoyede the chips and salsa that they brought out. They have cheap daily lunch specials that include a drink! Most Mexican restaurants have lunch specials but never include the drink. So we loved how this place includes a drink. The service was great, but the food was pretty average. I got the chicken enchilada and I think it had just chicken inside rather than any cheese or enchilada sauce or anything else. It was fairly basic. The rice and beans and cheese were great and the price was great as well. You get tons of food, so there's no worry about leaving hungry. My wife and I split this meal and both of us were still full. Overall, good Mexican food but not great. I would probably still eat there again, but might try something different next time. read more

This place far exceeded my expectations. I will be honest that I generally don't feel like many places do Mexican well in utah so I didn't expect a lot. Which makes for a very pleasant surprise when it is so good. (But that also means no pictures because I didn't think it would be anything to write home about) I had a chili relleno with an enchilada, it was certainly the best chili relleno I have had in utah, but also one of the better ones I've had period. My husband had a shrimp enchilada which was delicious, lots of shrimp. My son had a chimichanga, I can't comment on it because he ate it so fast I didn't get to taste it, but he cleared his plate and was very happy. We were told they have been there for 44 years and from what we saw there is good reason. I would gladly eat here again and even go out of my way to do so. read more

This place is beloved by most of my friends. I think it's definitely some thing that is become somewhat of a tradition for Springville and Payson area. I love the greeting and this place is always busy. However, the food is never what I would call sensational or frankly even good. Since other places have come to the valley and stepped up the game this place no longer compares. However, due to the love and the tradition that my friends hold in this place, I believe people will continue to come back forever, the owners are very good people with very good hearts and deserve to be taken care of forever. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I have never in my life gone to a Mexican restaurant, asked for queso dip, and been handed a bowl of cold shredded cheese. Their food was not good. They use canned shredded chicken and mozzarella. We wanted to like the place, and tried it twice. Nice people and all, but the food is just mediocre. Standard menu and everything is covered with cheese. And by covered I mean buried. I scraped it off and got through the plate, which left a small mountain of shredded cheese on the side. The waitress asked if I wanted to take it home, and I replied "no, we have cheese there." I just can't eat here again. It's too bad, because the other sit-down Mexican place in Springville, Joe Bandito's, isn't any better (tried them once). La Casita is cute and the line out the door on weekend nights would have you thinking that you're in for a treat. Sadly, the food is okay at best. The only item that was flavorful was the chorizo. I've eaten here a few times, I've wanted to like La Casita since I live close by and tried several dishes, but always have been left wanting more flavor. If you're not familiar with Mexican food and you like Taco Bell then this restaurant is for you. If you are familiar with Mexican food pass on this for something else in the area. Back out at La Casita specifically for the Tacos and I was not disappointed. Now I hit this place last week and had to wait until today as I could only eat 2 of the 3 Taco's so the review had to wait. That said I was very impressed and these street tacos moved ahead of Texas but were still behind, yet very close to Miami! The main reason Miami stayed ahead was the spices, but not taking anything away from the spice flavor for this place. Ordered the chicken, pork and steak and every one stood in its own without adding sauce. Even the chicken sitting in the fridge and reheated met the standard. They have both Regular Tacos and Street Taco and after chips and two of the tacos, I was full! Loaded with meat, juicy, fresh and flavorful, slices of avocado and chopped onion. Overall, seemed to be a pretty average local Mexican food joint. I went after seeing some reviews of those I trusted. I must have ordered the wrong thing. Silly me. Didn't go with what they said. But I really wanted a chicken enchilada. Bad move. Really, the chicken was just dry and flavorless. I kind of started picking it out and eating the other stuff. If you order a different meat, you might be much happier. Other than that, food was just fine. Like I said, pretty average experience. Socks will remain on.
