Traveling for work, I stopped here for a bite to eat. Got the onion strings to begin. This heaping basket was more than I could eat and I munched on them throughout my meal. I wasn't especially hungry, so I ordered a club sandwich. This meaty sandwich was all I wanted and more, with chipotle mayo I found a bit watery and lacking in flavor for what I was expecting. This was a small thing, but if I were to have it again, I would swap mustard for the mayo. All in all, a good meal and a nice atmosphere. I would certainly visit again! read more

Stopped by here our first night in Fort Dodge since there was a lot of options on the menu. We waited a bit for service, but our waitress was running around serving a lot of tables so did not hold it against her. She was very nice. We started with onion straws. They were good, but wish a bit thicker to really taste the onion. They seemed about 70% batter 30% onion. I ordered the mushroom melt and it was good, but nothing memorable. It came with 2 types of cheeses which I loved. The fries were good. Not thick but not shoe string either. My dad got the shrimp basket with Cole slaw and fries. He liked the shrimp but the Cole slaw. We are from the south so weren't assuming midwesterners know how to make good Cole slaw (no offense) our food to a long time to come out. I did notice our waitress took our order after taking a 10 person table order so figured we would wait anyways. Overall pretty good experience. read more

Went for dinner tonight with my sister who raves about how great the food was at this place. The food was disappointing! First the Croutons on the salad were a piece of grilled bread that had no flavor- awful. We ordered the PBJ burger and it came with no burger and peanut butter in 1 side and 1 piece of bacon that was hard and over cooked. When the waitress was informed of the error, a frozen premade burger was brought to the table. The kitchen staff didn't even remake the sandwich. The other burger was a precooked frozen burger that was over cooked and dried out with hard as a rock bacon, the side was flavorless premade from a bucket coleslaw. The Mac and cheese was very good. I was expecting a fresh burger, especially that is what the photos on FB show. We will not return. Kudos to our new waitress who had to deal with an incompetent kitchen. read more

Started with great promise. Holly greeted me and had a beer and order in quick. Then went downhill. Took about 25 mins to get Mac and cheese. Bar was maybe half full and most drinking. Terrible food! If you like bar grease then eat it hear, I've gotten sick every time so there is plenty of grease in the food still when your eating it. Or it's burnt in grease. Also the salad isn't much of a salad because its all iceburg not much variety and won't get you full. And better yet, if you love evergreen snuff eat hear because the cook spits it in your food.
