New to the area, I checked Yelp for recommendations for a salon near me. After reading comments I determined that Shelly, the owner, was best suited for me. At my first visit Shelly suggested a different cut than I have been wearing, but it sounded like what I had been considering AND was to be low maintenance. Shelly was right on! After two weeks of wearing the cut I scheduled the next one. I am grateful to find someone who understands curly hair so quickly. I take my first review back and it's entirety. They don't work with you and they don't listen to you. They don't give you the color you want and when you express your concerns with them they don't listen to you. They're absolutely horrible when it comes to telling you what you're going to be getting in the end with color and the owner obviously does Shortcuts when you are found to be unhappy. I came to them several times letting them know I was unhappy and each time I was let down. $160 for a horrible balayage treatment and now damaged hair. read more

I'm giving 'Snipz The Salon' an unsatisfactory rating of 1 STAR. I recently moved to the Wilmington area and typically I travel out every 3 months or so to my hairdresser in Norwalk. Basically because I don't trust anyone with my hair and it's so worth the drive. My sister is a mother of 2 small babies and has no time on her hands to really maintain her hair, so I thought I would treat her to a wash, cut and style. Since it was an unexpected visit, I did my research and saw good yelp reviews on Snipz. I called & spoke to Barbara who referred Elia to attend my sister's needs. I dropped my sister off & upon my return I see that my sister's hair looked the same except for the straightening and ruler cut hair job. I asked Elia if she layered her hair and she told me "yes, and that she cut 1 1/2" off, but that wasn't the case. Because I was attending to the babies while in the salon, I had to cut the conversation short. I paid $50 for the wash, cut and style which I felt was not a fair price for the poor job she did. Once we got home we both fully evaluated the hair cut and style, and to my dismay I was not a happy camper and neither was my sister. My sister and i have dry and course hair and when dried it's wavy and curly (which is fine), but the cut & style looks like someone literally grabbed a ruler and took a pair of household scissors and lined the cut straight across. Went another inch up and cut straight across again. Pretty much everything was uneven and definitely no WOW look. I called my hairdresser, explained what happened and asked if she could please take in my sister to fix the problem. Unfortunately, she was booked, but that a colleague of her is able to take my sister in. The new hairdresser name is Susanna, and she did an absolute wonderful job. There was actually hair on the floor, and a lot of waviness going on after drying and styling. It actually looked healthier and more manageable. I couldn't have thanked her enough. The next day, I contacted Snipz and asked to speak to the manager. Barbara said that the managers are out and won't be back till tomorrow. I did express my concerns to Barbara, but I was hoping to express my concerns in a civilized manner to the managers of how unhappy we are as customers. Hoping that we can resolve this issue, I feel that it is only fair that Snipz pay me for the extra expenses I had to pay to get my sister's hair corrected, but I never heard back. It's already been 2 days since i called which is why I'm writing this review. Obviously, they don't care about their customers complaints and is in it for the money. I for one, will not refer anyone to Snipz and recommend that if you do decide to have your hair done at Snipz, that you already know someone who works their. I'll take this as a lost, but will leave this post up indefinitely. read more

Absolutely fabulous experience. Totally relaxed me and I even fell asleep a few times which speaks volumes. Highly recommend! read more

She found time to fit me in to my last minute request for services and did a good job finding correct shade that would work with my multi colored hair that I had from doing it from home and using different colors and brands. Well, I didn't have a great time here. Apparently I was the stylist's last appointment at 4:30 on a Saturday. From the start I felt like the stylist wanted nothing to do with me and wanted to leave. She literally pulled my hair out of its ponytail immediately when I met with her (this was the first time ever seeing her btw) which just felt awkward. Then at the washing station she jerked my head around while shampooing and was very rough. Trying to tell her what I wanted and she seemed to have an attitude. I had a hard time feeling comfortable at all during this haircut. If you don't want to work past a certain time, maybe don't make any appointments after that? It sucked read more

I just went last night to meet Nicole Rivera here for the first time. I bounce around salons a lot because I haven't met someone I really had to stick with. I work with a gal who goes to her and her hair is always perfect. She suggested we do color and highlights (I wanted subtle) and got my dry hair into good shape. I really liked her and her personality. Not to mention her pricing, I was in and out of there for $75. Way less than I've ever paid but a much better service. Nicole was able to get me a last minute appointment for a Brazilian Blowout. She was prompt for our appt time, and worked quickly. The blowout turned out great and lasted just as long as she said it would (4 months). The price was a bit higher than other salons, but it was worth it for the proximity to my house and needing the service asap. read more
