TERRIBLE venue management under the guise of a beautiful space…read more In short, three months after signing with The Barn at Holly Farm we were told management would rather start a year of self-initiated renovations than honor their contract with us. Their decision not only affected us, but at least nine other couples who had booked weddings there too. For my fiancé and me, this left us with less than 7 months before the wedding date to find a new venue and re-plan our entire event. It took over a month for us to find a new space that could accommodate our wedding size indoors. To receive a full refund, we were expected to sign a document that stated we wouldn't make any comments which "may, directly or indirectly, disparage" The Barn at Holly Farm (obviously we did not accept those terms). It then took over a month to receive the funds for The Barn's breach of contract. I hope no other couple has to experience The Barn at Holly Farm's mismanagement and the nightmare experience they caused at least 10 couples in 2021!

My husband and I were married at the Barn at Holly Farm in May 2019 (I meant to leave a review…read moresooner but life quickly got in the way). We worked with Karmel as well as a flower vendor (Dirty Girl) and photographers (GSquared) whom Karmel recommended. Part of the reason we were drawn to this venue is because of the good works that they do with equine therapy and rescued farm animals. Our experience with the Barn was fantastic. We really hit it off with Karmel and she made planning the wedding fun and low stress. The vendors she recommended also did a great job and at the end of the day, are just good people. I feel like they all connected with us on a personal level. One fun perk this venue offered is for a small fee someone from the Barn takes guests out to meet some of the animals (chickens, goats, llamas, etc.) during the social hour before the reception. This was a lovely and charming way to start the celebration. I think that what we paid was fair for the service we received. The only snafu at the very end was having to pack our own stuff even though we paid extra for the clean-up service, but it was mostly just our personal belongings and it wasn't a big deal. There's always a little wedding drama - in this case our own guests, and the way that Karmel and vendors went about handling it to reduce the stress on us was beautifully done. They were respectful and discreet and we were incredibly grateful for their support. The space itself on the day of the wedding was absolutely stunning and everything was set up exactly as we had planned. It was a truly magical day and I'm so glad we chose the Barn to get married. I'd do it all over again. :)

I wanted to go horseback riding for my birthday. I found Stillwater Ranch by searching for trail…read morerides. I am so happy I did. This place was EXACTLY what I was looking for. The owners, Barbara and Dalton were so nice and down to earth, They are true animal lovers just like we are. They have over 20 horse, 3 dogs, 2 mules and they offer it all. This isn't your 1 hour trail ride up a dirt road and back. This ride is 3 to 4 hours long, through trees, down what looks like animal trails in the woods, you criss cross through the woods and clear cuts in the Skykomish River Valley then you head up mountain to this amazing lookout and have lunch. I rode a wonderful gelding named Bernie. Bernie's a Missouri Fox Trotter and he was super sweet. Chris rode Comet, she's a Tennessee Walker. Chris said she floated. You can see for miles up on "the rock". When you look down into the valley and see just how far you have ridden, you are amazed. Dalton said it is probably 5 miles. The lunch is amazing, it's from the Sultan Bakery and it is one of the best lunches I've had. Sitting up on the rock just me, Chris, and Dalton was so relaxing. We became instant friends. Stillwater Ranch offers a variety of rides that include river rafting, fishing, moonlight rides, overnight camping and much, much more. You can ride in all seasons - We are looking forward to a winter ride when the valley is covered in snow. They are even starting a wine dinner ride - woo hoo. The next time we need an equestrian fix, we will look to Stillwater Ranch to supply it.

Myself and 14 friends had an event to attend at noon last Sunday, so we decided to get breakfast…read morebeforehand. I called the Buzz Inn a few days before and gave them a "heads up" that we'd be there - although they don't take reservations. When we got there at 10:00 a.m., they had a table completely set up for us! After everyone got there we ordered our food and it was out so fast it was literally amazing. We were all asking "how'd they do that?" To top it off, breakfast was excellent. Is it the Four Seasons? No. Do you want a solid breakfast fast for a great price? This is the right place for it. She almost couln't eat her sandwich. I wish I hadn't eaten mine. A good rubin is piled with beef. This barely had a couple of slices on it and they looked like they came from a package at Safeway. We will never go back. It is just too bad. As I said, it used to be one of my favorite restaurants.

They've experienced love and growth in unmeasurable ways. I've watched her confidence grow, his gentleness expand and their appreciation for the equestrian world blossom. April makes horsemanship fun and exciting in a warm and safe environment. She keeps the kids engaged and excited while allowing them the opportunity to learn what the universe needs to teach them that day (patience, compassion, physical advancements). My kids started with vaulting and quickly learned to ride with balance and Grace. They love coming to this amazing property and just being present. We all leave the lesson feeling refreshed and happier than when we arrived, The Happy Path is addictive!

Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #103…read more This review is specifically for the BF Cafe & Bakery located inside the Edmonds Ranch 99. I wouldn't normally get boba here, but Ranch 99 was offering a $2 boba promotion at BF Cafe with $30 grocery purchase. I might as well try the place for just $2. Green Milk Tea ($2) - Strangely enough, the first flavor to emerge is the taste of coffee. I wonder if there is some contamination going on here. Perhaps the water dispenser they use for the tea is the same as the coffee. After the coffee taste, there's a bit of smokiness and bitterness. Finally, a layer that's like an unpleasant concentration of Chinese herbs. Like a mixture of wolfberry, jujube, and whatever else is in a Chinese herbal medicine concoction. It's not a pleasant taste and reminds me of what my parents used to treat me with when sick as a child. I didn't adjust the sweetness, but it's surprisingly not very sweet. Probably 25% sweetness compared to most boba shops. The boba is not made in house and is preportioned in plastic packs, like in premade boba kits. The texture is decent, perhaps a bit leathery and firm in chew, but decent bounce levels. Since they only use a single pack of boba for a 22 ounce drink, there's not nearly enough (typically a single pack is for a powdered 11 ounce drink). Milk Tea Rating: 1.5/5 Boba Rating: 3/5 So yeah, the drinks served here aren't the best. I haven't bought any pastries or bread from BF Cafe, but I'm sure they are better.
