You can refill bother PROPANE AND NON ETHONOL GAS and even race fuel at SnohoCoOp and this Monroe has PROPANE only, but unbeatable prices. In fact, one case of stopping at Everett CoOp on river, to buy propane. The employee at EvCoOp told me, ' YOU HAVE FOUR TANKS, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FILL AT SNOHO OR MONROE COOP! My rating isn't necessarily for the feed store itself but rather for the rain-boots I purchased. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. I do not have large animals that require anything found within this store but it looked like a good selection was offered. I was in the market for a pair of Slogger rain-boots and was thrilled to find that this Co-Op stocked them. Sloggers are made in the USA and are comfortable enough to wear all day long. It's pretty far from where I live in Duvall but it's totally worth the drive. It's a great place and everyone that works there is super friendly and helpful. I get all my small-engine gasoline here because it is ethanol-free which is really important since ethanol gasoline absorbs moisture. Washington is VERY moist and that wreaks havoc on things like lawn mowers, chainsaw, weed-wackers, etc. read more

I am so frustrated right now, so I write this with the frustration fresh in my mind. That being said, I am extremely disappointed in the customer service of not one, but five different employees. We bought a Cream Legbar hen and rooster a few months ago from Monroe Co-Op. I purchase things from them at least once a month, sometimes trekking my way from Woodinville to Monroe on a weekly basis. We were told that we couldn't buy just the hen, but we were forced to buy the rooster as well as this breed is a rare breed. Great. Approximately $30 later (much more expensive than their normal chicks), we walked out the door. Three months later we find out that they are BOTH roosters. I tried to take them back today, and was told I could put them in the rooster pen (so they could sell them to someone else and profit off them), but no refunds would be accepted. I asked why, and they said the chickens are auto-sexed (the sales gal PICKED THEM OUT FOR US) and unfortunately, they can't guarantee the sexes. If you can't guarantee the sexes, then why are you selling the hen with the rooster? Horrible customer service. Horribly treated. They may have lost my business forever. #notacoop read more

This store had everything I needed for a wounded chicken. What I appreciated was their advice. I was dreading having to buy a whole bunch of recommendations items (from a chicken group), but they suggested just one item for now. So I'm a happy camper and as it turns out they were right! What they could improve is to let their employees know there's a Yelp 15% off "chicken supplies". They had no clue about this deal, do they needed do call their owner. In addition, there wasn't a clear definition of which products are included in this category. I would return for their extensive product availability. read more

I love supporting local businesses and I like that I can find everything I need from this place. However, with the exception of one lovely girl I've seen there dozens of times, the employees here make me want to run out the door! The girls at the counter consistently treat me like I am trying to sit at the wrong lunch table in a high school . And once in the back, I heard one of the loaders tell a young kid working there that he was "f***ing stupid". I told the kid not to listen to or tolerate that form of unprofessional communication. He looked so sad. So yeah, great place if you pretend no one is there. But c'mon Monroe Co-op! How hard can it be to make people feel welcome and to not stare at them with blank expressions? I am one of the new people in Monroe, meaning I own very little land. Therefore I shop here for dog food. They carry many brands and the prices arent too steep. I like this place because it is owned and operated by a small family. And in the spring time they always have a huge variety of baby chicks!! However, what I dont like about it is it is very dusty and I always want to wash my hands when I leave. Other then that, its a great store with really great people! read more

This store was recently bought by Snohomish co-op. It was our hope the pervious Owners would transfer their courteous customer service skills to the new staff. What happened to employees being required to say "Thank You" to customers as they conclude a transaction? Instead of appreciating customers with this polite phrase, the staff says: "here ya go" and "next". If management is reading this: PLEASE, insist, at the very least, your staff greets customers with a smile and a genuine "thank you" with eye contact after a transaction. It's basic retail 101 and should be required of your employees. read more

If you have been around the block with feed stores you'll find Monroe feed is the place to go. They have excellent pricing on feed, dry big bales of straw, super green hay, and they carry 80 pound feed bags. The guys who load it up are super nice, they go out of their way to make sure its packed safe and they don't rush. Compared to other feed stores I have been to *coughDayvillecough* the cashiers are nice here! And their store bird is hilarious, make sure to ask her to sing you a song! read more

I came here as a kid when it was Monroe Farm and Feed. As an adult I went to Del's for a while until they closed, I did not like TS, so started coming here again. This place has been great. They Always have what I need and on the rare occasion they are out of a feed I need they will always substitute another brand at the same price. A long time customer of Monroe Farm and Feed - and now Monroe Co-op. Service and a commitment to carrying quality products seems to have faded with the co-op takeover - and some selection too. With Farm & Feed, they would show me what I was looking for and carry it to the counter for me. With Co-Op, the place is cleaner and easier to get around but no one is around and the service is all but gone. The quality of hay is not the same either. Farm & Feed would sell poorer quality hay as feeder hay - recognizing lesser quality hay and selling it as such, fairly. Co-Op sells the hay off the books - regardless of the quality. New to the co-op so I look forward to seeing if and how I can actually influence change - as a customer and stakeholder. read more

We have been shopping here for over a year now. Everybody that we have dealt with at the store has always been kind and helpful. They were kind enough to spend litteraly hours educating me on electric fencing. They didn't even try to over-sell the equipment. We purchase our grains, fencing, etc from them. Sometimes they are a bit more expensive than competitors. Sometimes, they are less expensive. It just depends on the items and it does fluctuate. I've teased the owner a couple of times about the prices of a couple of items, and each time, he's dropped to a lower price. I really don't mind paying a bit more, if necessary when it comes to supporting a small family business. They stand behind what they sell. On one occasion, I purchased a single bail of hay to feed to our horses when I was out of hay. It was a nasty bail. Not even the cow would touch it. I mentioned it to them about a month later, the next time I was in. They immediately refunded me for the bail of hay. No questions asked. I didn't even want the money back. They insisted. It's that type of integrity and exceptional customer service that keeps us coming back. We will continue to purchase from Monroe Feed. read more

After moving out to Monroe approx 7 years ago from Duvall I quickly become a convert from that "other" feed store in town. At the "other" feed store I always felt awkward approaching the counter, having to interrupt the gals chit chatting behind the counter, the getting less then welcoming service. I can say I've never had that experience here. Everyone has been extremely helpful & knowledgable. We raise beef, pork, horses, chickens. It doesn't matter what type of project we are working on or ask advice about we are always treated with respect & they go above & beyond to assist our needs. Pros: friendly staff, good quantity of inventory & fair prices. Con: traffic getting in and out on hwy 2, some dustiness but this has greatly improved in the past year (the store is also connected to their warehouse which contributes to this). read more

VERY POOR SERVICE!!! Woman was totally rude. I'm cheerfully calling feed stores looking for organic grains, seeing if any have added them, I call every 6 months or so hoping they will add them, "Good morning, I'm looking for organic grains, can you tell me what you carry?" She gives a big sigh like that's so much trouble and in a rather hostile tone says, "why, what are you trying to feed?" HUH???? I say "all my animals, chickens, dairy goats, food producers, what' difference does it make what animals, what organics do you carry?" She hangs up on me! They've lost a good customer, willing to spend extra on organic feed and drive the extra miles to support a family store. I did wait awhile and call back, she was a little nicer and claimed it was "accidental disconnect" - yeah, right, what timing - and she still was asking "what are you trying to feed" in a hostile and not helpful way. read more

If you are looking for poultry-this is the place! They have 40 or 50 different varieties of chickens as well as multiple kinds of turkeys,ducks,geese,guinea fowl and pea fowl! They also stock every possible supply for raising poultery I read one of the reviews below that complains about not being happy with the customer service that was experienced during a phone call about organic feed. The last time I was there I was helped by a very attractive,knowledgeable,young woman. I mentioned the review to her, "That was me!!!!" she cried. I couldn't believe it.!! I live just out of town and have run the local boarding kennel serving all of Snohomish and King Counties for 25+ years. . I have been able to find anything I need at Monroe Farm and Feed during this time. The family run business has been dedicated to serving the community and I know people who come from Seattle for their poultry needs! I appreciate that this business has stayed here with the ups and downs of life and the economy and hope their legend lives on..... My suggestion to the reviewee of 7/10 is to call and ask for the owner or another sales person if you feel you did not get the service you were hoping for. Love this store, I don't know if I love the quirkyness (is that a word?) of the store itself or of the people that work/own it. I am a newbie at owning chickens. I go in there with a million questions and they are always so willing to help. When I buy my 50lb bags there is never a question about loading it into my car. The grouchy lady, barn cats, dusty wooden floors, the talking parrot, free coffee and candy, incubating eggs, chicks in the spring and summer...going here is an event for my three kids and I. I am saddened by the review written by LLB and felt compelled to respond. I first met "the woman" when she worked at another feed store several years ago. I, along with many other customers, followed her when she went to work for Monroe Feed. I have received excellent service. Last year I decided to get chickens, ducks and geese. The entire staff was helpful, pleasant and patient with my MANY questions. I am confused with LLB being angry when asked what type of animals she has. It does make a difference what kind, since you would not want to buy chicken feed for horses, etc., and the price may vary. Monroe Feed is family owned (imagine that, there are still a few of those around) and I hate to see one bad review hurt their business. It is unfortunate that people feel the need to write negative reviews but when the experience is positive, we do not take the time to let others know. read more

I used to go here for my senior horse feed, now I go up the road and its 5 bucks cheaper! Not only that but the customer service here is really bad. Here's what happened in my last visit. There where two customer lines at the check-outs. Low and behold the people in front of me where intent on chatting with the sales girl about chickens, showing her cell phone picts ect, and the line was not moving ( I had waited in this line, for two customers worth from the "other" cash register line) So I moved to the other line, and was behind one customer. Now it was finally my turn, I started in telling the young man about my senior horse feed needs and he was in the process of looking up my last order to see what I had bought previously. The cashier girl from the chicken line was done talking to her chicken friends and came over to my cashier, telling him to do something else and she would take over. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!, you do not interrupt a sales transaction, that is NOT the way to treat your customers, he was 1 min. away of completing what I had waited to do. Not only did I stand in HER line for 15 min, and got nowhere, but now she is interrupting my transaction, that will now cause it to take even longer to accomplish. I said to her, " are you kidding me?!!, your sending my cashier away?", " she smiled and said yes. That is when I told both of them that you never interrupt a sales transaction, it is rude to the customer. They both looked at me as if I had 3 heads and she was still smiling as I turned and left, taking my money with me. This might not register to some, but you could look at it this way, I was a guaranteed 1,000.00 bill in yearly income for that store, who walked out, due to appalling customer service, never to return. This store is a terrible place to drive in and out of because of the heavy road/traffic, there are cheaper prices just up the road with adults who value their customers time. I left having wasted 20 min. of my day standing in line only to leave in frustration. By the way there where other teenagers hanging out behind the counter, doing nothing, was it a "bring your friend to work day"? certainly a good way to ruin a business. read more

I have been raising laying hens for about 4 1/2 years, when we started I was a complete novice. The owners and employees have always been very courteous and cheerful. They have answered what I felt were probably dumb questions with a laugh and good cheer. The prices are fair and when they have to increase them, they let you know why. I have purchases one or two chicks at a time to help a broody hen. They don't require you to buy 6 like some places do and their service is very good. read more

Fact in point is; they will go out of their way to ensure that they keep your business. Too many feed dealers act like you are nothing special to them, just another dime and dollar. Not so with Monroe Farm and Feed! They offer a wide selection of dog/cat products, horse and cattle items, multiple different grains and feeds from companies out there (and if they don't have it, they will see if they can get it in for you either that week or the following-depending on the amount ordered), plus; they have tractors and additions, fencing, feed/watering items...and in the spring~live plants, starters and oh yes...baby chicks and ducklings!! It may not be a brand new store, but the rustic look fits them quite well. After all, it's a feed store, and they will bend over backwards to make you happy and meet your requests. I'm staring an urban rooftop garden, and we drove from Seattle to Monroe to pick up hog panels for a trellis. The price was reasonable, and the staff was very helpful. They helped me cut the panel in half so that it would fit in my car and even helped load it in. At other store, I've gotten eye rolls and no offers of help. read more

We have been doing business with the Monroe Farm and Feed store for 16 years; it is always a pleasure dealing with the family that owns the store. Primarily, we are concerned with goat, horse and poultry products and it is rare that they do not have what we are looking for from good quality hay to more unusual wormers. When they don't carry something, they always go the extra length by trying to find what it is we need and bringing it into the store.
