Amazing service provide by the following staff: Chuck, Dana and Jose Marino. I communicated with them via phone and email and all were professional, patient with the situation where a financial application for a client I was helping somehow got missed by their team in email and lost in mail. They escalated to supervisor on their own and took responsibility and got customer concerns addressed immediately. What a pleasant team who works so well within their dept. kudos to them for all their hard work! read more

While assisting an older family member with the PUD utility bill, it was discovered that ANY late payment (no mater how small or temporal) results in a fee of $5.00! So, if the utility charges are small, say 25.00 a $5.00 'late fee' is disproportionately usurious. It may be even illegal! In addition, it also seems (after reviewing several yelp pages of different communities), PUD administration NEVER replies to reviewers or their concerns. Shame on PUD for their non-responsiveness! PUD is a public (the P in PUD) entity. And we are the public. We are owed explanations from the utility monopoly. read more

I made a terrible mistake and instead of paying SnoCoPUD $27.66, I accidentally paid $2,766.00 through my bank bill pay on line. I spent 2.5 hours on the phone in line to ask for help..when I finally reached a real person, she was unable to help me. I called PUD and reached Maurice, who solved my problem within 2 hours and had a check in the mail to me the next business day. Maurice is my hero! read more

Snohomish County PUD is simply lacking. I've been a customer for 10+ years at different households and each time service was lacking. In the greater Marysville area (my current residence) the lights flicker and power often goes down for a second or two. It has burned out several electronic devices and has forced me to invest in multiple battery systems to prevent expensive computers from dying. I find the frequent power outages (or power hiccups) very inconvenient and expensive. I can hear the same issues around my neighborhood when walking around the community, as all of the homes have 'chirping' fire alarms that go off when there is a fluctuation in power (it is somewhat comical.) On the billing side they seem to be completely incompetent. I've had power randomly shut-off with moving dates, a complete failure to communicate issues, and zero communication beforehand. They keep resetting my phone number on the account to a number I stopped using five years ago, but are very happy to re-instate service for a $120 same day connection fee. This is on top of the fact that instead of actually knocking on the door and getting a payment, the PUD employees sneak in and don't even ring the doorbell. On two instances I've literally been standing five feet from my front door when they walk up and then run off. Other utilities in the area happily communicate a missed payment and have the courtesy to knock on the door. Executive members such as General Manager Steve Klein need to rethink the simple failure to communicate with customers (and the community) using modern tools. In a day an age when e-mail, text, SMS, Twitter, Facebook, and *face to face* customer service options exist, it is shocking to see how they drain long term customers of $120 reconnection fees because of faulty service practices and antiquated customer management systems. Running an organization that services the community should entail interacting with the community and not avoiding bad billing/customer service issues that gouging the customer for a reconnect. I can only assume that the Snohomish County PUD drives a substantial amount of revenue at the end of the month on $120 reconnects and have simply come to conclude that these charges are a hidden cost of living in the area. read more

I have been a life long resident of Snohomish County. The response time to reported outages sucks. My first hint was when i was about 8-9 on Thanksgiving morning when my mother woke the whole family to bathe and leave our farm to go into marysville to my aunts so she could finish cooking the turkey she started at 3am and we lost power at 6am. according to PUD they couldn't trace the problem. On our way to get to hwy 9 we found the problem. a branch laying across the power lines burning. Seriously, this isn't rocket science folks, sometimes you just need to drive the roads... read more

I feel very fortunate that we have a public utility district. It empowers me to know that the infrastructure and technology belongs to us! Because we are serviced by a not-for-profit agency the focus can be on conservation rather than consumption. I am proud to live somewhere with enough foresight to have provided this for our community. read more

PUD sucks like no other businesses i have ever encountered. We've already been without power for 64 hours this year and counting. Tonight we are going on the third outage that we have had this year. If any other business performed like PUD they would go out of business. Must be nice to have monopoly. read more

I would take my business elsewhere if it weren't a monopoly! An employee who refused to identify herself tried to kick my dog, argued about leaving my property when I called her on it, then lied to her manager about the situation. The manager, Katie, wouldn't listen to what I had to say and informed me I cannot deny access to my property to this awful woman. My neighbors witnessed the entire incident, but because the employee stated " there was no dog present, but I heard one barking" they aren't even going to file a complaint against her. Snohomish PUD wants to charge $10 for a late fee even though I was out of state and tried to resolve this issue. Representatives were very insistent on charging this fee even though 5 calls were taken to convince PUD to resolve this matter (Late fees were charged on late balances even when issue was resolved). It created a lot of hard feeling but PUD will not reverse its policy...hence this complaint. We need to convince PUD that this is not good policy. Thanks. read more

These people are spawn of satan himself! They state they will help you figure out a "payment plan" if you can't pay the bill but then give an option that doesn't even resemble a payment agreement. For example: you must pay $250 today and $250 tomorrow. Does that look like a payment plan? All their customer service reps are rude and not helpful. I wish I had another option but these monopoly's force us to deal with low lifes like SNOHOMISH PUD. They threatened to turn my power off on a day when my mother was having an emergency surgery and I told them I would leave the hospital to come pay them but it would take me an hour to get there. I was able to get there within 45 minutes and they informed me that within the time it took me to get there they disconnected my power. These people are hateful heartless human beings. read more

I just called to set up our first account with this company and I've never been talked down to like that in my entire life. The "customer service rep" I spoke with was horrendously rude and seemed to be very annoyed at having to help a customer set up service. The tone she used was offensive, to say the least. I can almost understand her being so awful if I had been speaking to her in a rude way or if we were late on our bill, but we are a first time customer and I was definitely not speaking to her in such a tone. The customer service is arrogant, and they have no sense of customer empathy - reflects the fact that they are a public utility with no reason to retain customers. If I had an alternative, would use another service. The billing system is horrible, with no distinctions between real bills and reminders. Treats both as the same when the customer views them online. They called them "billing documents" and thus are a bill, but are reminders. In other-words, I made the mistake of trusting how they represent bills on line, and paid the same bill 2x. They treated me as if I did not know what I was doing. The manager's name was Viki. I recommend that they go through extensive training, and work closer with customers to help improve their online payment system. read more

This is a terrible company. In April of 2015 an employee of theirs was checking the meters on my house and my neighbors dog ran after him so he ran and jumped on my car scratching it in SEVERAL places. I tried contacting PUD for months to file a claim and couldn't get anyone to respond. After finally getting someone to get back to me the first person who was supposed to come and appraise the damage on my car never showed up. I finally got it appraised and after them continuously lowering the amount they were going to give me I signed off on an amount that will not even fix my car completely. I was told they were to send out my check within 2 weeks of signing the paperwork. It has now been a month and I have no check and they are now telling me they can't issue a check for at least another month because their only employee to issue checks is on vacation. This is by far the worst company I have ever had to deal with. I have tried for 7 months to get this figured out and they continue to put me through the ringer. They switched their bi-monthly billing to monthly billing and skyrocketed their rates, as if we wouldn't notice. Guess what? Everyone has noticed. Our bill this month for ONE month is over 600.00! It's normally around 300.00 this time of year for TWO months! It's all over fb, so I know there are numbers of people dissatisfied with them. Oh yeah, and it doesn't take much to make our power go out. A few drops of rain and here we are in the dark. A breeze higher than 5mph...here we go again. This is now one of the most hated local businesses. They're apparently leeches. We all need power, so now will look for other resources. Unfortunately one star is as low as I can go to rate them. They don't deserve that many. read more
