His lack of communication was astounding and we couldn't understand why. The biggest reason for the low rating is that they tried to steal our deposit. We told him that we were moving out and there was no communication from him at all. We had to send a certified letter saying that we were leaving the premises. He was supposed to come by for an inspection but flaked on us at the last min. To top this all off after we left he did not return our deposit within the 21 days given. We called, left messages, emailed and no response. We cleaned the house and left it in the same condition as when we first rented it. My roommate had to get a lawyer to call him and after that, they finally returned it in full. (We left at Dec 1st and we got our deposit around Jan 15) I'm not sure what he was thinking like he actually thought he would get away with it. He thought he was slick and it almost blew up in his face. I'm not a disgruntled ex-tenant, just a guy who had is landlord try to keep his deposit. Not sure how he's still working when he pulls this BS

The packing crew was quick, courteous and seemed competent. But later after seeing how a different BackBreakers crew unloaded and packed things the next day, I decided I would not use them to move my things into a house a year later. Particularly unnerving was the unwrapped TV set on the floor 3 feet from the door, lamp shades on top of glass lamp shades without any padding in between. I had not traveled the distance to supervise the unpacking at storage. My error. July 2025 I hired a different company to move items from storage into a home, and they discovered that a leg of an irreplaceable antique desk have been broken when it was placed into storage. I will need to hire a woodworker to repair the desk leg. Also lamp shades in a box were glass to glass without any padding around them. Two leather recliners have long-lasting indentations them from nesting upside down. In a box clearky marked "pictures" was the cookware top I'd been looking for a month. One particularly expensive original piece of art in frame was not wrapped at all and the frame set leaning against a wall in storage. Totally unacceptable. I do not recommend this company.
