Never been to a transfer station and I had a good number of cartons to be recycled. I drove in slowly, followed the instructions. Pulled up near the dumping pits for the cardboard materials. Couple of staffs working there, but we didn't need any help. We dumped it and out in 5 minutes. Never realized the transfer station was straight forward. Someone fed me some confusing information - glad that I tried it out!

    Pavement you dump onto

Even though there's no such thing as 'away' when 'throwing away', sometimes you just gotta get rid of things after exhausting all other options; things break, get peed on, rot, fail, etc. I only go here after I've exhausted all options like recycling, donation, sell/give away on CraigsList or OfferUp, reusing, repurposing. That said, this is a pretty well run operation. Pull in, wait for the light to pull in to the scale, pay the nice person, listen to directions. Dump. After the nice 'direction guy' helped me back in, I was a little surprised at the 3 foot lip one needs to heave everything over, and that its just a 'big bare pavement' youre throwing onto (not a subterranean cargo truck), where an enormous scraper comes along and plows everything to one side! I had one particularly heavy can that it was a real effort to get over the lip. Anyway, my full pickup of trash was $20 flat (up to 300lbs or so). Smells......like you'd expect. Masks required, except for employees apparently. Google maps took me down the wrong direction to get in; you cannot turn right off of Minuteman Drive, you need to come from the Airport Way direction.

What a DUMP! Is this a cool place or what?! Drove over to get rid of a nice rug. It was a shame cuz it was a pricey thing from the velvet roped off area of Bellevue. However, my dog didn't recognize this piece of privileged opulence and did more than a number on it. Maybe she did know. This place is drive through style. Paid 20 bucks at the entrance and wheeled around lane 2 towards the transfer building. They have you back up towards a wall guarding a gigantor pit. Big loaders and trucks keep the place tidy. Place didn't smell bad. Hmmm. Time for a covid test? Nah. Anyways, the drop took about 2 minutes. Backed the car in. Pulled out the rolled up rug and tossed it over the wall. No one even noticed the two feet sticking out from the end of the rug roll. JK. Got back in the car and used the prepaid lane for a quick getaway. I really wish I had something else that needs to be disposed of just so I can come back to this place. Perhaps the dog is spying something as I type.

The place is well labeled and the guy who was on shift there reached out to me and asked if I needed any help. I'd definitely recommend it!

Clean and well run. Recycling cardboard and most metals is free. Waste dumping is a charge by weight.

We called when the refrigerator at our rental house stopped working. I should have known something…read morewas up when he refused to take my credit card for the diagnostic call and said that they wouldn't do the diagnostic work unless I brought a check to the house. We jumped through that hoop and got a check to the house in time for the appointment. The man told us that the technician would arrive between 10:30am and 1:30pm so I could tell my tenant when she'd need to be home The tenant was there, but the tech never showed up. The tech nor the office called either my tenant or me to let us know of a delay. When I called around 2:45pm to ask what was going on, the man at the office acted put out that I would dare ask for the COMMON COURTESY to receive a call regarding the delay. He then accused me of demanding that the technician leave his current job to go to our diagnostic call. I did not do that. All I asked was for them to call us to let us know what was going on. Because I stood up for myself when he started acting rude, he told me that he was taking our house off the schedule. So now I sit on a Friday night in a lurch because this very rude and unprofessional "business" person can't handle a simple request for a phone call when there will be a delay. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR APPLIANCE SERVICE.

Last month I recycled more than 200lbs of clean stainless steel and they paid 0.17 a pound. There are better recycling place that pays more. update 2017-07-07 I got a phone call from Ryan, the owner?, of Pacific Iron today and instead of apologizing for maybe an honest mistake of their employee, he start screaming and yelling at me over the phone. 2017-07-08 In response to Ryan Comment. If you really want to make the record straight, why not list the events that I told you over the phone before you start yelling and screaming at me. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO DO THAT TO ANY HUMAN BEING unless that is what you are. I am sure the reason for you to being very upset and yelling is when I told you what I've witness during my visit at your place. Your first excuse at the beginning of conversation is that it must be a mistake by her as new employee that is still in training. But when I told you that it was not her who did the weighing and coding in the computer. I even told you that she actually separated the expensive materials and commented to me" its better for you", and I thank her for doing that. - she separated the monitor boards single layer from computer boards bin. - she separated the pure cooper wire from the cat5 cables bin. but when it went to the weighing scale, your other employee had put/mixed them back to the bin and CODED both the computer boards and low grade item in one. Same what he did with the copper wire mixing it back to low grade cables. IS THIS WHAT YOU CALL "HONEST BUSINESS". I call it cheating and stealing!! Your next defense was why I did not complain immediately when I was still there, sure I did. After the cashier hand me a very low payout, I asked him why those computer boards was paid 0.30cents a pound. The cashier then told me the same excuse you said to me over the phone " NO IDEA BECAUSE I DID NOT SEE YOUR MATERIALS" so I went back to your employee who weighted the items and ask him why he coded the computer boards to "low grade" instead of computer grade? he just shrugs his shoulder like he did not hear me. I also ask him why he coded the clean stainless steel as " contaminated"? but he give no explanation as if he does not speak english or so. And when I asked you why there is no itemize on ticket printout at the weighing scale for the recycler to see so we can verify what was the weight and items coding, you sound irritated and got pissed off. You also failed to mention on your " set the record straight" long explanation that I have been recycling with your company with the same computer boards, hard drives, wires etc since 2009. All of computer boards, small or large, has always been paid in "computer grade" between $3 to $1.7 a pound. AND INSTEAD OF offering an apology and correct the "MAYBE an honest mistake" you started to talk like your whole world is collapsing. Is that how you treat customers? Screaming and yelling at them over the phone? No respect to people that provide you food on your table and employee? Even after I told you over the phone and email to not waste more of our valuable time and move on, you seem to have a lot of time yelping and yet failed to apologize.
