I literally do not have enough Thank You's for Dr Kimberly Bolak and her staff. Truly. Never enough. I am in town visiting on vacation and cracked my molar in half, and had nothing but a razor sharp jagged tooth left. My friend called Snohomish Modern Dentistry because they are her dentist, and they had me in the chair in less than an hour! They numbed me up, which by the way, I didn't even feel the needle, and got to work prepping the tooth for the crown. They made the crown in-house, and I came back 48 hours later to have it placed. My original appointment took an hour and my crown placement took 15 minutes. This place is amazing! I highly recommend them and if you are visiting in Snohomish and have a dental emergency, this is the place to go! I also wanted to mention that they offered me a payment plan! Obviously I did not budget for a dental emergency on my vacation, and they were absolutely amazing, immediately offering me a payment plan with my first payment happening a month from now, not on site! I just finished getting a crown. The dentist and his assistant were a wonderful combination of competent and friendly.

The professionals at Snohomish Modern Dentistry spent the time to teach me how to care for my teeth properly. This included: using the best brush for my teeth, a charcoal brush; the correct floss length (Glide) , longer than what I had been using; recommending picks (Schaumburg) and giving me a special brush for my partial as well as a hard rubber tipped pick. In addition, I was advised that it was ok to wipe my teeth with a soft cloth when finished cleaning. Last but not least, the hygienist emphasized that it's just as important to spend the time to clean the back of your teeth as the front. Folks, I admit I got "religion" late, but with the help of the professionals at Snohomish Modern Dentistry, my teeth were saved. read more

I was really disappointed. First, during covid, having a 15 minute wait in an enclosed room made me wonder, but okay, things happen. The x-ray wasn't working correctly, but instead of stopping, she kept going taking useless x-rays. Then took an entire 2nd set. I didn't appreciate getting my head radiated to such a degree. She pinched my lip so badly during cleaning that it raised a blister. The person who was supposed to polish and floss, never did the flossing. One of these events might be excusable but all together for a new patient was exceptionally bad. read more

Horrible. Had crown remade twice due to it continuing to catch food. Finally got one on that fit and my ten year crown popped off while flossing. Went to a different dentist who advised Dr. Bolok had ground the original tooth too small and in a conical shape. As a result no crown will ever stay on. Have to have surgery to take bone from my jaw to make more space for a crow to fit. If this office does not pay for all of this I will have no other choice but to sue them. JCA read more

I'm giving 2 stars because the dentist was personable. I came in for a check up and cleaning. I needed a dentist that would take my insurance. First stop seeing the dentist. Then I was taken to an X-ray room where they took so many xrays I felt like I was glowing in the dark. They may think it's necessary but I don't think so. Then back to dentist. She did exam and measured gums but I was surprised that the dentist and not a hygienist did the cleaning. She had me hold the suction hose. Then a last girl came in and was to polish, paint on fluoride and floss. Not a good job at all. They wanted me to schedule to have a filling replaced and a 6 month check up but I was feeling so apprehensive that I said I would just call. I don't want to go back. I feel like SMD is too corporate and hires staff besides dentist that are very inexperienced. I think I would rather pay out of pocket and ask my old dentist to take me back! read more

Went to Snohomish Modern Dentistry for their grand opening and they were incredible. Friendly staff, great Doctor, and high tech facilities (you can even watch TV while getting work done). They were thorough and Dr. Sanaa made sure I understood what I needed and helped make a realistic treatment schedule that fit my needs. My care has been excellent. Each time I've visited, I've received hints to improve my hygiene. Modern dentistry perfectly describes this state-of-the-art, efficient dental practice. The cost of my crown has been very competitive, as was all my routine care. I know exactly what will be done and what that care will cost, before the care begins. Dr. Bolak does not up-sell services after starting care. Actually, she has helped me avoid care by telling me what I can do to help myself. That's very unusual in today's environment. I have been pretty happy with this practice. They absolutely have the newest and most modern technology. They also have oral surgeon's/perio dr's that visit the office regularly, so most items can be handled 100% in house (I got tired of having to run to 3 different specialists at 3 different locations for a single procedure with my last dentist). They are super flexible with scheduling. And most importantly, Brenda Paulson, the office manager, really makes sure that everything gets taken care of. Diagnosed with mild to advanced peridontal disease in November 2019. Deep cleaning and regular maintenance cleaning recommended every 3 months. On schedule with maintenance appointments, in March of 2020, I arrived promptly for my 8am appointment. The office was closed. I had never received a phone call or email that my appointment was cancelled. The following Monday I called with my complaint and to reschedule a maintenance cleaning. The front office clearly explained that cleanings were being postponed due to all of the SARS-CoV-2 concerns, but they were still seeing patients for more invasive procedures. English translation: "Your $100 cash visits scheduled 4 times annually are not worth our offices' time and neither is your diagnosis of mild advanced periodontal disease." They asked if I would be interested in receiving a call for rescheduling in AUGUST for the maintenance cleaning. I said, "yes." It's October 1st, no phone call or email correspondence. Oh wait, here's an email "Get $100 off Dentistry* from Snohomish Modern Dentistry. No patient care here, more so patient care-less. Sometimes it hurts to be honest. read more

I took my son to Snohomish Modern Dentistry on Wednesday. My son was very excited about the PlayStation in the lobby. The staff was very welcoming and offered me coffee or tea from the Keurig machine. After x-rays were taken Dr. Beguwala met with my son & I and took time to get to know us. I went to SMD with very high hopes. I called for an appointment for my $39.00 exam and cleaning. I made sure they were "In Network Providers" for my dental insurance. They assured me they were. I went back for my $39.00 exam as was immediately told I needed X-Rays. I needed an extraction, so I came back for another appointment. My tooth was extracted, and I made an appointment to come back to be fitted for partial dentures. Before I left, I was told my share, after insurance, was $1,700. which I paid that day. Before my next appointment I received first bill. I was shocked when I saw that I was charged over $600. for a bone graft that was never discussed with me. Oh, and those x-rays I needed at my $39.00 initial visit were $75.00. each. Still reeling from the unexpected charges, I saw that they were NOT an "In Network Provider" and the services I received would be covered at 25% instead of 50%. In addition to all of that, the $39.00 initial visit did not apply to me, because I have insurance. That was another bit of news. Because I paid $1,700, I went back to have my partial denture made. It was so poorly made, I took it back five times for adjustment, and refitting. On my last visit I left the partial there to be "re worked". When I went to get my teeth back, They refused to give them back to me because if the dispute over the "In Network"-"Not in Network" charges, plus the unreasonable and unauthorized charges that were not disclosed to me.Throughout this nightmare, Brenda continued to offer her help in resolving my problems. Meanwhile, they turned my bill over to a collection agency. They got my $1,700, my teeth and put a giant black mark on my otherwise excellent credit. I am happy to see that so many people had a good experience. Maybe they worked the bugs out after they fired Dr. Shah. I guess I should have waited until they learned how to honestly run a business. read more
