And Nick with his 20,000 hours and 37 years of flying (20 years in Maui) was safe, professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and fun! I'm a retired Air Force pilot with 22 years of experience. While it was raining that day, the pilot only called beforehand to say we'd get wet walking from the car to the plane. He never mentioned that we would miss half of the advertised sights. After the flight, I requested a partial refund because we only received about half of the promised tour. The pilot then claimed he had warned us that weather would prevent us from seeing several locations, which simply isn't true. I understand that weather can affect flights, but customers should be clearly informed when major parts of the advertised experience won't be delivered. Poor communication and misleading expectations made this a frustrating experience.

She helped us get everything set up for a snorkeling day with our 5-year-old (which is not always easy). Took the time to properly fit all the gear, made sure our kid was comfortable and confident, and explained everything in a way that actually made us feel relaxed about it. No rushing, no pressure--just genuinely trying to make sure we had a great time. What impressed me most was how much she went above and beyond. She helped us organize pretty much the whole day--snorkeling, a submarine trip, even gave us great lunch and shopping recommendations. And this wasn't in a "salesy" way at all. In fact, some of the best tips she gave had nothing to do with buying anything from them. She also did exactly what she said she would--followed up, communicated clearly, and everything was on time and as promised. That kind of reliability is underrated, especially when you're on vacation with a kid. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does and wants people to have a great experience. I had multiple reservations/flights cancelled for BS reasons and then customer service was terrible every fricken time I called - no idea where the call center is, but it's crap too. The last time, they didn't even bother to process the refund I had called to request in the first place so I had to call back and burn another 30 minutes on the phone to do it all over again. Wasted more than 5 hours of my life between setting up flights with the transport of an animal between the islands and then having to request refunds because they would cancel the flights 24-36 hours in advance for one of a multitude of reasons which was different depending on who I talked to. First it was an "unscheduled maintenance", then it was "staffing", then it was "regular maintenance with no back up plane planned" and finally "weather related" and "unforeseen circumstances". And each and every time, the flights were cancelled more than 24 hours in advance...what in the actual FFF? Over and over again during the course of a week of flights, they'll happily sell you tickets on flights they just continually (planned to) cancel. STOP SELLING TICKETS if you can't actually supply the flights. Get your sh*t together or close up shop. Don't waste your time booking and just avoid the nightmare.

Skyline Haleakala Sunrise tour was one we will do on our own next time. Not because the tour was…read morebad, on the contrary, our tour guide, Billy, was incredible! As it turned out, the weather did not cooperate. It was about 50°, but with the 25-30mph winds, it felt more like 40°. The clouds were socked in one on top of the other, carrying with them some precipitation. Needless to say, the jackets that Skyline tour company provided were not only appreciated, they were an absolute must-have. There is no predicting the weather up there and you book your tour knowing there's no guarantee for a spectacular view. Though the view lacked luster, we still learned a lot about the mountain, the volcanic history, the plant life, and the Hawaiian culture as a whole. Billy also shared with us his knowledge for Pineapple 101. All and all, we had a great time but for the cost-reward risk benefit, we'll take our chances on our own next time. She made them feel excited and confident to put on their snorkel gear and get into the ocean. She set them up with a mask, fins, and a floater and shared with us the best place to see fish, and they did! I had already checked out The Snorkel Store website which is very informative and amazing. Signing up for the newsletter got us a discount, yay! Besides the snorkel gear we rented three Tommy Bahama beach chairs which are great because you can wear them down to the beach as a backpack. One less thing to carry. Before we left Lisa said, "Let me get you a bag of sand toys for you to enjoy after you're done snorkeling." This was so fantastic because grandchild #3 was in the car with Papa and the sand toys were an absolute hit.
