I woke up the next day (18 hours later and no pain meds since I left around 730 pm) and my whole leg and foot were completely numb- so I went back around 730 am. She came in (I was in so much pain and in tears). She asked questions and pretty much instantly started moving and manipulating my leg. While I cried. She then proceeded to say " I'm just tying to figure out why this is hurting you so bad. I tore my ACL 6 weeks ago and had surgery a week ago. It didn't hurt this bad at all." While I'm just crying. As she is checking " no bruising no swelling". Asked if I drove myself. I said yes. Her response " aw poor thing" she then said "whatever's going on- you're not going to need surgery" fast forward to today. My entire leg is covered in bruises and is so swollen. Orthopedic doctor said it's probably my ACL or maybe a torn tendon or broken bone on the left. I've never felt so dismissed and mistreated.

To be…read morehonest, I really wasn't looking forward to this visit because last year, it was such a huge confusing process, especially since it was new patient visit. Check in process has improved but not sure if it's because we are returning patient visit. You go to the front desk, check in at a computer and take a pager with you. Then they page you to a desk and do all the paper work there. After that, you sit down and wait to be called in to exam. They check vitals and then you proceed to exam room. Then you go from exam to xrays, then back to exam room for consult. We did not have to wait long after checking in or waiting in exam room to be seen, or wait long for X-rays, everything was pretty quick today so I was very happy about that. Shriners I believe requires a referral to be seen. Parents need to be on top of scheduling Shriners appointments and not procrastinate with scheduling these visits, you schedule these appointments well out in advance. It is important for families to ensure they come here on time because there are families who travel a lot further away to be seen. Depending the date of the visit, if there's a holiday, like Valentines, Shriners had a ton of toys and goodie bags to give to children from generous donors. I wasn't expecting this since we are outpatient visit. My kids were very happy with the goodies they got. Last time we were there, there were tons of free snacks at the lobby. It is a very kid friendly environment and the staff truly seem to enjoy working with children. They expect good commitment from volunteers too. I remember visiting Shriners years ago as a kid with my parents to make a visit to another family whose daughter flew in from Argentina to get orthopedic surgery at Shriners SLC. This family didn't really know anyone in Utah so through some networking, my parents (also from Arg) found out and we went to go visit them. We discovered they didn't have to pay for her surgery and stay. Children are taken care of here. Definitely consider making a donation to Shriners.

When it comes to medical offices that work with you to code procedures in order to make things go smoothly with your insurance and to keep your out of pocket low, they're among the worst I've worked with. They charge crazy high amounts in the first place, which are drastically adjusted by the insurance company (If you don't have insurance at all, beware!). I went in to address some sleep issues, and when asked how I wanted to handle the visit, I requested they do a full annual physical with blood work to determine what might be causing it. They ordered blood work and because they don't have a lab in-house, I had to schedule a return appointment. When I received the bill for the first visit, it wasn't coded as an annual physical. They billed it as something completely different, and between that and the blood work they ordered (some of which wasn't covered as part of an annual physical - which I'm OK with), my out of pocket ended up being far more than expected. When returning for the follow up appointment on my blood work, I discussed this with their office manager. I was told that they don't treat the initial and the follow up visits as one physical appointment, and that I had to pay for the first one as a normal outpatient visit since things were discussed in the visit that didn't pertain to an annual physical (make note - don't ask them to discuss any of your concerns, or you'll be billed for the mention of anything outside of the scope of an annual physical - and they won't tell you what those are until after you are billed). I was assured by that same office manager though, that the follow up visit would be billed as a physical and therefore would be fully covered by my insurance. We'll, turns out they billed the insurance company, for the second visit, not only for a physical, but also for an outpatient/office visit even though it was one visit. This after I was assured it would be billed as the physical only and fully covered. It felt not only opportunistic, but frankly, completely dishonest. They offered to cover half of the adjusted expense of this after making me fill out a "financial Consideration form" (as though this was about me not being able to afford it vs them admitting that they did anything wrong). In the end it seems that this office is more concerned about milking more money out of their patients than they are about building long-term relationships with them. I've worked with many offices over the years that are very good and fair about handling stuff like this. The two office visits to address essentially a requested physical and write a couple of prescriptions, were billed at around $1500. This is with no further treatment other than writing the prescriptions. That's practically what an ER would charge if I were to go there for similar reasons. Needless to say, I'm done with these guys.

The front desk staff was very kind. However we visited…read moretwice in 4 days, due to my teen daughter's condition worsening. She saw the same provider both times. A Streep test and a urine test was done on our second visit when we shared that her urine was an orange color. Blood was found in her urine and the provider prescribed Motrin. A antibiotic prescription was given "if she did not get better in a few days". I ended up taking her to the Intermountain ER a few days later where she was diagnosed with Mono. She was severely dehydrated after vomiting for 3 days, she was given an IV, medication for the nausea, and a complete treatment plan. Due to this being a virus, antibiotics are not part of her treatment. She was also instructed to rest for several day to reduce the risk of a ruptured spleen and told to contact her Primary Care doctor to follow up on care. I do not feel that the provided at Revere Health listened or worked to find out what was truly wrong with my daughter, and put her in more risk. I do not plan on visiting this clinic again.

She gave me options and explained all the pros and cons to those options. She made it clear it is my choice in what I choose, but she help me feel comfortable with my decision. This was the only doctor that talked to me about going through my stomach to fuse my L5-S1. This was amazing. I have seen others with this same operation, but going through the back. Those recoveries take so long. I didn't want that and I would have put this off, but I am grateful I didn't. 5 weeks after surgery I am throwing a baseball again. Yes I still have some small surgery pains, and have to watch what I am doing. The surgery was awesome, and doctor Edwards was way better then every surgeon I have ever used. I have referred multiple people to them since.
