Coming from out of town, I called a few times to ask general questions and the staff were great over the phone. They were also great to deal with in person. The course scenery was beautiful and my family had a great time. Golf carts were nice, but course can be played with push carts or even walking it. Gopher holes were everywhere, but my kids loved seeing them "watching" us play. Overall, very satisfied and it was a great experience playing another destination golf course. read more

Fantastic spot to stay clean modern a has everything even a garage with remote. Fully stocked kitchen and full size laundry room with all the stuff. Upstairs balcony with bbq and a million dollar view. We stayed downstairs and my son and grandkids were upstairs. A wonderful gateway. Only 5 mins to town and 10 mins to the lakes! By the way two day of fishing for them and only my grandson caught fish. I will definitely come back in May when there's more snow on the ground only with my wife. read more

This place is one of my favorite golf courses anywhere. It is only 9 holes so I felt 4 stars was appropriate. I played here today, with a friend. It is groomed well , very clean. Water is probably at its peak so a couple of the lakes were up past their normal level, didn't effect play at all. The fairways are beautiful and can be challenging. Speaking of fairways, you'll want to stay on them, the roughs can be a challenge with longer grass. This is one of the most picturesque places to play. The views of the Sierra Mountains is incredible. The staff were very friendly. Seemed genuinely interested in how we found the coarse. read more

First of all, I cannot believe John S. from San Francisco writing a two star review about a place he played when he was 16. I can only assume he has no coordination and hates all golf courses - everywhere. It gave me a laugh. Now my review: You cannot go wrong with this course. The greens are kept in perfect conditions and the views are beyond spectacular as you look at the surrounding mountains. I have played here for years and have always found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly. Jack gives great lessons and Julian is the pro and runs the show - plus he is a great guy. Warning - the rough is rough. When your ball goes into the grass you have about a 10% chance of finding it so make sure you hit straight! Nice putting green, the driving range is a block away on Old Mammoth Road. They have snacks and been and wine. It is a great experience!! Oh, and John, the place uses reclaimed water so that is another thing you don't need to worry about. read more

This course has so much potential but not kept up and the greens are super slow. Also it can get windy. The staff were quite rude. Hey Bob, I know what "shotgun"is, please don't be so condescending, and thanks for serving someone who came after me first, and you don't need to tell me to go and eat something just because I had an hour before my t time. So this is going to be a biased review because in general I don't like golf courses. When they exist in desert climates, they waste massive amounts of water. Even when they're located in areas in which water isn't scarce, they often don't conform to the local landscape, and the groundskeepers kill gophers for having the audacity to live in their natural habitat. In general, the modern American golf course is a monument to selfishness, wastefulness, and the pseudo love of nature of our society as a whole. Back before I had thought about this stuff, I played a few nine-hole rounds here. The view from the golf course itself is breathtaking, and the course itself is maintained well and at least looks like it incorporates native flora. I'm also pretty impressed with myself because this was the first golf course on which I ever shot par on a legitimate-distance par-4 hole. (I was fifteen or sixteen at the time and didn't golf often.) Every time I golfed here, I came with my dad, who was even more of an amateur than I was at the time. We didn't fit in with the rest of this place's clientele. We weren't sporty enough; we didn't play fast enough (I like walking a course, so we didn't use golf carts); we weren't polo-shirty enough. So in general, the golf course itself is nice for a golf course. I can do without the attitude of the clubhouse people. I don't like the idea of golf courses in the first place. So why do I give it two stars instead of one? Well, first of all, it's just an absolutely beautiful golf course. And I appreciate the fact that they built it in a meadow, so they didn't have to cut down (too many) trees to build it. That's a far cry from the nearby Sierra Star, which is the result of an absolute *CENSORED BY YELP* of some beautiful natural pine forest. NOTE: I wrote the preceding review in 2008. It was fine for ten years, but apparently using a certain verb figuratively is suddenly "mak[ing] light . . . of sexual violence." I apologize, o mighty Yelp, for offending your poor, fragile sensibilities. It's not as if you remove all the reviews that make light of how certain living beings, including humans, are tortured or otherwise mistreated in the name of fashion, greed, or even appetizers. Played this course last summer with my friend while we were in the area for vacation, we both loved this course. The course itself was in great condition, really well kept tee boxes, greens, and fairways with some challenging rough and bunker. The greens here were incredibly fast, my home course has a slower green so that definitely took some getting used to lol. The views and scenery on this course is breathtaking, a few holes into our round we wished one of us would have had a camera so we could film some holes. Even the range, you are hitting your balls straight into the mountains, just something I'm not used to at all so I appreciated it that much more. The staff was great! Really helpful and genuine, from calling and asking questions and booking tee times to even when we played. When we played I can't even remember what month it was but we got an unreal deal. It was about $40 each with a cart and 18 holes. Such a beautiful fun course, welcoming staff, not crowded at all. Definitely will be playing here again this summer. read more

Meh! The golf is pretty good, several challenging holes and the greens are well-maintained. I was underwhelmed by the service. They don't seem that interested in you being there, some of the team actually gives the impression that you are an annoyance. I would go back but it's not my first choice for golf in Mammoth. read more

The course is beautiful, well maintained and gets a solid 4 stars. Julian, the manager (Irish accent), is the reason I will never return. We were 2nd off the tee playing 18 holes and our cart's battery began to die on the 12th tee. I called into the clubhouse to request another cart which was promptly delivered to us. The staff mentioned our replacement cart has just been used for a round but assured us it would be fine. Unfortunately, cart #2 completely died on the 15th tee. We tried putting into reverse and restarting three times, but to no avail. We decided to walk the remaining 3 holes. Calling into the clubhouse again, we told them we were abandoning the cart and walking. Julian drove another cart #3 out to us telling us that carts are stored outside in the dust and get jammed frequently. We reloaded our clubs into cart #3 and finished our round. I requested a cart rental refund from Julian noting that 2 carts malfunctioned within the same round. He said that carts dying happens because they are stored outside and that they don't refund rental fees. I noted again that 2 carts died, despite being charged overnight which is unacceptable. He refunded me the cart rental fee, but not before admonishing me (again) that he has "played a lot of golf and these things happen" and that next time he wouldn't give me a refund. I've also played a lot of golf and I've never had a cart break down on me, let alone 2 in the same round. If this is a normal occurrence in his course, as the manager, he should be doing something about it rather than charging customers $30 for a cart rental and then shrugging his shoulders when the carts break down. read more

You couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting for a golf course . Our group played at Snowcreek the last weekend of 2016 season. Cool , perfect weather for October. The course was in immaculate condition. Snowcreek has wide open fairways, with water on many holes and some of the fastest greens I've ever experienced . As a 9 hole golf course Snowcreek is long. The views are amazing. We originally planned to play the course once but enjoyed it so much we played another 9. Clubhouse area is small & nothing big , but it is a seasonal golf course. My only complaint would be the price. $65 bucks for 9 holes & cart is a bit pricey. Hopefully Snowcreek will add their other proposed 9 holes in the near future. read more

I may have a new favorite 9-hole course. Beautiful views on every hole. Course was in late summer shape, which is to say ,not great, Fairways were brown in some spots, but were pliable and playable. Greens were US open firm but held on really high shots. Not a standard course, rough was grown out in some spots and the greens were multi tier, with lots of undulations. But the main reason to play here are the fantastic High Sierra views. $33 is a little steep for 9 holes, but I'll play here every time I visit for sure....in the summer that is. read more

While, this place is pretty pricey ($45 for green fees and cart for only 9 holes) it is also one of the nicest courses I play on. I still go every time I am in Mammoth during the summer. The whole course is lush, green and beautiful. The 4th Hole runs along the back edge of the property and has an amazing view of the mountains to the south. Even on weekends it never seems to be too busy, so you should be able to play at a comfortable pace. It also has Tiger Tees for the kids. Worth it. read more

Although I've been coming to Mammoth for over 30 years...I will never play golf at Snow Creek again. The Manager (Julian, has an accent) interrupted our game of golf in the middle of hole two to tell us we we're interrupting other golfers (him who was playing golf while "working") Now I will say, we had five players and we're told to keep it as a twosome and a threesome, but there was no one behind us and we were trying to play as a family. We were also the only players on the course. Golf wonders why there's less people playing the game...there's your answer. It's delta bravo's like the Manager (Julian). read more

Julian and his crew make this one of the stars in summer activities in Mammoth Lakes. While there are only 9 holes, it can take a life time to get them all right. I have been playing this course for over 20 years and it just keeps getting better and better. the greens are fast and the fairways wide open and lush. I have to say that I absolutely love this course. The grass is so beautifully kept and I am so amazed of how well they can turn the course around into playable shape after the harsh snowy winters. I know that most people do not think of Mammoth as a non-winter destination, but I have to say that it does have the most amazing appeal in the summer and fall time. This course has beautiful views of the canyons and mountain ranges. It also is lined by the mansions of Snow Creek. I have to admit that this course is enjoyable and as relaxing as they come. I am going to play this course every time if go up to Mammoth when it is not snowing!!! read more

We played Snowcreek twice this week. Snowcreek has an incredible deal on Tuesdays that allows us to play as a twosome for the price of one round ($55). This has to be one of the best bargains in all of golf. Snow creek has the most amazing views ever. Seriously. It is ridiculous how great the views are from every hole. We love Sierra Star GC as well, but I don't think SS compares to Snowcreek with the vastness of the scenery. The staff here have been blasted in prior reviews, but we see no justification for the rants. We were treated exceptionally well by the crew here on both of our visits. My only gripe is the bunkers, which are quite, well, let's say, rocky. I eventually learned that chipping out of them with a 60 degree wedge was the prudent thing to do, My wife preferred to just not hit in them... read more

Staff for the most part is accommodating but not well managed. Just left there after a round with my kids. We enjoyed ourselves for the round and were relaxing by the practice green considering another 9 holes. I was sitting in a chair in the rough around the practice green watching my boys putt when I was rudely approached by the manager to move my chair to another location away from the green. I protested as that would completely alter our family experience as there was no place close that he deemed acceptable which would allow me to view my kids. Keep in mind that I had asked another staffer for permission to park a chair there with no issues. The manager insisted that the chair be moved, "It will kill my grass!" Really? For 20 minutes? He then proceeded to say that I was rude and that Snowcreek Golf Club would be better without me...again, really, from the manager? Isn't his job to ensure that the patrons are enjoying themselves and spending money. In 22 years as a member at a private country club, I have never been spoken to like that. Needless to say, I was pissed, and we left. The snack bar has no prepared or cooked food as there is no hot running water at the facility. A sandwich or burger at the turn would be a huge improvement for this place. I'm rating a 1 star in hopes to get a response from someone important from Snowcreek. We own in the Snowcreek association and are not planning on playing the golf course again until they get better management, or I get an apology. In the meantime, we'll not play up here or we will play Sierra Star Golf Course. A positive experience went negative as soon as this guy interacted with us. FYI: on the 4th of July, only two days ago, our club had a massive fireworks show on our range...members and their guests had chairs strewn all over the golf course holes and range. Everywhere but the greens. We also have a major golf tournament being held there in a week or so (US Women's Amateur Qualifier). Snowcreek, good management isn't that hard to find. read more

We have been coming to Mammoth in the summer for over a decade and during that time we have played golf at Snowcreek every time. This is consistently a highlight of our trip. The views are incredible and the staff is truly amazing. We have golfed at some very upscale golf courses but none has come close to the quality of the staff at Snowcreek - they are professional, courteous and friendly! We played on Tuesday and the marshall did an excellent job of keeping the play moving along. Yes, this is only a 9 hole course but being in the High Sierras means that conditions will guarantee a different playing experience on the "back nine". Water is in play on some of the holes - the 9th hole in particular - which makes for an interesting challenge at the end of the game. No matter how well or poorly you are playing, you will be rewarded by beautiful vistas on every turn. read more

Bottom line: rude and obnoxious staff. my friend and I wanted to play a fun round of golf, but the snotty staff left a terrible taste in my mouth. at the 6th hole I realized I had left my phone in the car and had an important phone call coming through. so like a normal human being I rushed back to get my phone which was parked by the clubhouse. we were heading back to the 6th hole, when we were stopped by clubhouse worker matt. he told us that we could not return to finish our round of golf because "we left the course" and "the course was simply too busy " this is absolute bs! there was absolutely nobody behind us and this was simply unreasonable. all the other reviews that stated that the clubhouse workers were rude were right!! to any Snowcreek management that reads this, the worker called matt is obnoxious, unreasonable and rude. to matt himself, screw you you're an unintelligent pig read more
