This thrift store is better than goodwill. I'm a big thrifter and have been to 10+ thrift stores in the area. This place has a a solid collection on household items (a surprisingly nice pottery/ceramic collection). Shirts are ~$3-5 and pants are $5-10. I got a pair of Columbia waterproof snow pants for $6 and a black purse for $3. I know there's a bunch of comments about the manager, but I didn't interact with her. I like making donations of my good working stuff and not deal with shady people coming to my house to buy them. Here you can claim top dollar for your lightly used clothing and household goods. The people are gracious and very appreciative of what you bring them. I used to give to Goodwill but the attendants would purposely drop and break things. I took a working Apple computer to Goodwill store only to see it get THROWN into a bin and get smashed! The folks here at Sutter would never do that. Manager Debbie displayed rude behavior. While preparing donations in my car at 9:40 a.m., she took a picture of my vehicle, stating no parking was permitted and donations weren't accepted until 10 a.m. Basic courtesy would have been appreciated. My donation seemed unwelcome. The friendly front cashier listened to my concerns and Debbie came along asked me to leave the store. Ego before the cause I guess. read more

I was very offended!! There is/was a person, (Hispanic male probable 6' and a little heavy and my initial instincts are to say gentleman but that would give you the wrong impression) that at first smiled at me (seemed genuine but I guess I was wrong) as I was walking though the store. However, the next time he engaged me about 3 minutes later the said "pick something and buy it the store is closing" I checked the time and it was 5:20 pm so I asked, "what time do you close?" and he replied "now". Do they not screen their employees or volunteer's? Is payroll tight? Sad to say I have been going to this store for over 15 years, and I will not go back unless they tell me that he does not work there anymore, which would be my suggestion. The listed store hours state that they close at 5:30 and when I walked in initially at around 5:15p.m. and the lady at the register said that they will be closing in 5 minutes. Whoever manages this place needs to get a hold of things. My suggestion is that if you are going to close at 5:20 change you sign so it reflects it or at lease tell your customers so they know that you are not going to honor the stated hours rather than rudely and passive aggressively suggest that you should leave. I have been going here for years. Love this place! Lots of fun finds and polite staff. Flowers all the time donated from trader Joe's. Reading thru the reviews people need to realize, most of the staff are elderly volunteers or part time. They are always clear on when can or cannot accept donations. If they say they can't accept donations, there is good reason. So may e don't start unloading your car anyway . They shouldn't have to unload your car for you . They check EVERYONES iDs if they don't know you. Many of them recognize me and STILL CHECK my ID so please don't pull the race card. Their prices are so much better than goodwill. For many of the other reviewers conplaining, do better. Be better. read more

Cute little thrift store. Regarding COVID safety, they spray your hands upon entering, masks are required and they ask that you do not spend more than 20 minutes browsing. They had a huge amount of holiday items, lots of clothing, trinkets, and odds and ends. All the staff were really nice. Plenty of parking. Prices seemed slightly higher than other thrift stores but not over priced. read more

Manager is rude I specifically called to speak to someone who could tell me if they have incontinent bedliners so I asked to speak to the medical side she said we are all one I said well I'm looking for something specific she said I'm the manager ask me um ok perfect i asked for the liners she said oh I don't know I gotta lot of incontinent supplies But not sure that I have those but feel free to come loook for yourself ummm what? Thats why I wanted to speak to the health care side not the regular store side I live in Elk Grove so I don't wanna waste my gas to and from Roseville for something they may not have in stock or that we can't come to a price on before I come down to the store I want / need 20-40 packages the first time I came into the store. They were begging us to buy supplies from the healthcare side when we walked in because they are so overrun with the amount of supplies and space but apparently the manager was not in the mood to look or request, another clerk to look these liners aren't small this would have cleared a huge space for them and kept inventory moving and brought in some good money for the store I guess all keep looking read more

I would prefer to give it 4.5 stars. The prices are very reasonable and is truly a thrift store. The proceeds are for a worthy cause in which I support. I did not provide a total of 5 stars for the following reason: 1. The lead volunteers are no longer friendly 2. One particular lead volunteer made me wait 15 min to donate my items because I arrived 15 min early ( I totally understand since the volunteers have to prepare for the day). However, all of the volunteers that were assisting with accepting donations were ready and literally sitting down waiting for the clock to strike. That's not my idea of great customer service. I could take my donated items elsewhere and not have to wait nor encounter rude lead volunteers. 3. After waiting 15 minutes to drop off my donations I proceeded to go to the front of the store and pick out flowers. After I picked 3 bouquets (2 nice sized and the other had 5 flowers in it) and waited in line for almost 15 minutes, a lead volunteer came to the front of the store and told the cashier, flowers are limited to only 2. Now, if for any reason they felt they needed to limit it to 2 bunches for the day, they should have honored it for those who were out picking flowers and not those who had already taken the time to pick and stand in line for 15 min. 4. I have donated here for years (and purchased also). I attempted to use my donation discount post-it and the cashier told me she could not accept the donation discount on flowers. I have in the past but she couldn't tell me why or when the "policy" changed. It sounds like the rude lead volunteers are now picking and choosing their rules based upon the flavor of the day. read more

The owner or manager of this establishment should probably go over what a debit or credit card is to their older employees or just how a transaction works in general. It's 2022 for you guys to be checking IDS FOR A 5 dollar transaction is absolutely insane. Not sure if you're picking and choosing whose IDS you check for whatever purchase but you're definitely giving off the "I'm racist vibe" do better, get educated, and stop harassing people for their ID. Love this place! Most items are priced well, organized. Store isn't huge so selection is limited, but it's to be expected. I love that they help Sutter Hospice services. I bought a lot of cheap Christmas decorations there for 2018. Great for holiday decor! They have some nice kitchen sets, but they are pricey (for me) but not bad for the quality. read more

I love supporting hospice! I have been shopping here for 20 years. Great place for clothes, nic nacs, kids stuff. The staff are all retired volunteers and very friendly. They have men's, women's and kids clothing, toys, games, books and furniture. It is not that large but they are very organized. The lady that does the books can help you find specific books, just ask her if you want help and she is always happy to. Sign up for their emails and they will notify you of store specials and happenings that they have often. Great thrift store, I hope they never go away! read more

This is a nice little store with a great cause. The store is full of friendly volunteers. The clothing is displayed by size and is easy to look through. They have a $2 rack of all types of clothing. I actually found a couple pair of capris that fit perfectly. There are no stains or rips in their clothes as they have been checked and steamed before being placed on the floor. There's also a rack of new clothes with tags still attached. Prices are very reasonable for all- men's, women's and children's clothing. Often, they have a good selection of shoes and purses. I love the book section and if you want a magazine or two, they are only 25 cents. I found two that I like to read and they were only one issue back. There's also a lot of miscellaneous and holiday stuff depending on the season. I once found an exact Christmas ornament of one I had broken which made me extremely happy! Then there's the flowers and plants outside. I've increased my succulent and herb garden just from their selection. You can stop in here once a week and find new things each time. Today, my 70 year old grandmother took some items to this place to be donated and the 6 male workers that were outside and are supposed to be available to help people unload their donations, just stood and watched and did not offer her any help. She struggled with a large box and still none of them helped her. Also, before that, another worker came up to her while she was getting ready to unload her donations and rudely said to her that they aren't taking any clothes right now. My grandmother didn't have any clothes but other donations and asked where she should put those items but the woman ignored her and walked away. This is terrible that people that are there to help people donate items to a good cause would behave so shamefully. read more

The selection is decent. Organization of store is remarkable. My rating is because of staff. Man posted at door to direct customers due to COVID regulations tried to spray me with something saying it was mandatory to enter their store. I kindly informed him that there is no such regulation and I would appreciate it if he kept his unknown substance away from me. The next issue I had was the counter staff, and ohh my what an experience with them. An elderly woman rang up my purchases (2 things) and did so with so much distaste in her body language, I couldn't get my self out of there fast enough (nope, don't need a bag thanks, I will carry them out). Last Sunday afternoon I was just strolling around my little city of Roseville, thinking I knew all the ins and outs of the place, I noticed back in the corner of the Big Lots shopping center on Harding a sign that said those magic words THRIFT SHOP. I made an immediate left hand turn into the parking lot, parked up front and with my heart beat quickening ran inside to do some treasure hunting. I knew what I was looking for and I found it before I even entered the store. I had been looking for a nice basket for storage. Low and behold, right there on a display in front of the store was the perfect basket for me and it was, get this, only 2 bucks!! SCORE!! This little place was just that, little, however it was full of fun treasures at really, really good prices. They had a nice selection of dishes and mugs, knick knacks, books, home decor, clothing and even some fabric and crafting items. The ladies that work here in this store are super sweet and helpful, service is awesome!! Bottom line: If you are out and about in Roseville looking to do some treasure hunting and support an amazing cause, check out the Roseville Hospice Thrift Store. Not everyone donates their used junk merely for the write off. Some donate because they believe in the cause and want to be helpful, some because the thought of watching their junk turn into ripped up trash gives them anxiety, which I'm sure sounds ridiculous to some, but it really is a "thing". If you're donating your junk to this thrift store, be sure that you're only doing it for the write off, and understand that you'll be met with some serious attitude while you unload your donation. Look. Sorting through junk sucks after a while. I'm sure it sucks even harder when you're volunteering to do it day in and day out, but these people make you feel like you're personally responsible for telling their child that Santa Claus isn't real when you show up with a donation. Perhaps they should move on to happier ways to spend their time away from home. Personally, I like to donate to be helpful, mixed in with a just a smattering of anxiety. I prefer an indifferent reaction, because I know that that's as good as it gets anywhere else.. So I go anywhere else. read more

I think this is the best "everything" thrift store in the Roseville area. While there are better shops that cater to something specific (like furniture, clothes, or books) this one has more of a broad selection of random stuff. It's also nice and big so there are lots of things to see. Their prices are fair. Some things are a little high, some things are just right. I also like that it seems much cleaner and well organized than say, somewhere like Goodwill. You don't find too many stacks of stuff here; most of it is laid out nicely. read more

We just left this thrift store after browsing for about an hour we had a few items we wanted to purchase. The store was clean and organized and as I was browsing I thought to myself I would be back for sure. Until we went to pay and the lady at the register saw we were using a pre paid Visa gift card. It was a card we received from family for Christmas. She gave us a hard time that it doesn't have our name on it. Seriously. It says pre paid Visa gift card on the card! She then calls someone to double check. I thought the person would be able to explain to her what it was but to my shock that person also didn't understand what a pre paid Visa gift card was. We were told NO we can't usea pre paid Visa gift card. For an $11 purchase!! It's 2020, FYI. I suggest someone else who works here explains what a prepaid Visa gift card to all the people who work the register so this store doesn't have to loose any more business over something so idiotic.
