Good time overall kayaking around mangroves and hanging out on raccoon island. You take a quick trip by boat to the kayaking spot out on the water (anchored platform), get a quick tutorial on how to operate the craft, then paddle around mangroves and hit two islands. Last island is home to raccoons who are pretty chill especially if you happen to have fruit or nuts. Staff were friendly and helpful going through the basics. As someone who had kayaked only a few times before, I didn't feel too challenged by the route. We also were running five minutes late, called in, and they were kind enough to hold the boat. Shout out Adam and Jose. Recommendations and tips: - If you're not a local, plan an extra half hour to get there due to bad Miami Beach traffic. - Wear bug spray and sunscreen. - Wear lighter clothing and sun protection (hat, sunglasses). We had a great time Snorkeling with So Flo and the whole team! You take a 15 minute boat out to another boat to pick up the kayaks in the middle of the bay. It was fun kayaking around the mangroves and I felt like a maze going all around. Then we kayaked across the bay to Raccoon Island where some of the group went around the island to look at the isolated population of raccoons, and we went snorkeling. We saw a couple of puffer fish, a dinner plate sized stingray, and a bunch of other smaller schools of fish. The water was clear even though it was a windy day and we had a solid 45 minutes to snorkel. Then we paddled back to the kayak point and took the peekaboo with the rest of the group back to the dock. Captain Matthew made sure that we got everywhere safely and the whole team including our Tour guides Adam and Sean were a lot of fun! read more

Absolutely amazing time bucket list experience!! Ashley, Adam and Chuck were our guides and made it so light hearted and cool! We started with an hour boat ride, saw bird island and learned a lot about the local birds here, then kayak'd through the mangroves! After my absolute FAVORITE part was the raccoon island. I had such a fun time on the boat tour. I enjoyed CJ and Drip's energy. They were a lot of fun and had great music! I loved the fun facts and eco facts about Miami. I think we had a good amount of time to do all the activities. Kayaking through the mangroves was really peaceful. There were lots of mosquitos unfortunately so remember to put on some bug spray before going in. Then we kayaked to raccoon island. I was a little afraid of them but they were polite little bandits. Had a wonderful tour with Sean, Tany, and Chuck to Raccoon Island through Biscayne Bay. Some highlights were: guided kayaking through a Mangrove forest, a walk on an island full of adorable and friendly raccoons, passing close by to a nature sanctuary island full of birds, and the pop hits playlist interspersed with info on the islands we were passing during the boat ride there and back. We booked through Fever and unfortunately had a terrible experience. * The morning of our reservation, we drove through a horrendous rainstorm and then got stuck in a traffic accident on I-95. I called the office repeatedly around 8:46 a.m. to confirm whether tours were still going out under unsafe weather conditions. No answer. * By the time anyone responded, it was only via text -- not a phone call. That was nearly an hour later. * We arrived not knowing if due to rain it was closed .. found the office closed, even though my husband went up to the door. No one was there. * Instead of being understanding about the storm and accident delay, they told us we'd have to reschedule at double the price. This is horrendous customer service. They showed no concern for safety, no accountability for lack of communication, and zero flexibility for circumstances completely out of our control. We booked a snorkeling trip with So Ali Adventures and showed up only 5 minutes late. The boat didn't wait or stop for us. The owner then charged us extra to rebook for the same day, promising we'd still be able to snorkel. After paying an additional $200, we were put on another boat - but there was no snorkeling gear on board. The crew told us the owner never notified them in time. We tried calling and messaging the owner repeatedly, but received no response. Overall, we paid extra, missed the activity we came for, and received zero communication or accountability. Misleading Tour & Poor Support for Beginners The advert implied a boat to the island with a choice of SUP or kayak. In reality, kayaking was the only way to reach Racoon Island. There was minimal instruction (5 mins for a mixed group) and no in-kayak support for beginners--just shouted directions from a guide paddling far ahead. My mum and I, both inexperienced kayakers, felt unsafe and ended up returning to the boat. To make matters worse, another group later got the choice of SUP, swimming, or kayaking--options we were never offered. We're confident swimmers and would have happily swum to the mangroves. The tour was not "for all abilities" as advertised, and the dismissive attitude of staff made it worse. Very disappointing. Choice of SUP or kayak Advert says: "...by kayak or stand-up paddleboard..." Potentially misleading because: * It reads as though you can choose your equipment. * You were only offered kayaking, even though SUP and swimming were available for other groups. * If kayaking is mandatory for some tours, that should be stated clearly (e.g., "This tour is by kayak only" or "SUP option available only on specific departures"). 2. Sequence of activities (kayak + boat) Advert says: "After kayaking, you will board our boat and set out to Sandspur Island aka Raccoon Island." Potentially misleading because: * This wording strongly suggests that kayaking is first (likely a short activity around mangroves), and then a boat ride takes you to the island. * In reality, kayaking was the method of getting to the island, and there was no post-kayak boat ride to the island for your group. 3. Racoon island itself is beautiful, however, I must offer some advice and disclaimers. There is a total of three portions of kayaking: adding up to about an hour of kayaking total. I am physically fit and a regular exerciser, however, this left even me exhausted and sore right away. It doesn't help that in between kayaking, the boat ride features a boat with absolutely no shade whatsoever. At times, it enters no wake zones, and this part was miserable hot with no shade and no breeze. It is a must to wear a hat, shorts and a top with water shoes, and bring sunscreen with you to reapply often, as well as lots of water and snacks. This pushed our bodies to the limit, and it was a tremendous physical effort and caloric output. read more

The experience was awesome, we loved kayaking the mangroves and feeding the cute raccoons. We love raccoons so this was special to us. Adam our guide was fun. Our beef is with SoFlo's organization of their boat and tour schedules. They had us waiting in the water by the pontoon for around 30 to an hour when we could've been kayaking or feeding the raccoons for longer. This was a fun time but I'd recommend doing your own kayak rental and running your own show. Or roll the dice on getting rushed and jammed up at the boats at the end. read more

Such a fun tour! 2.5 hours on the water exploring mangroves and a little island with raccoons that were super friendly and happy to be fed with watermelon. This was one of the WORST tours I have experienced! Be aware that your belongings are NOT safe when left on the boat while you kayak to the island. Also, be aware that you will be on your own once you arrive on the island to find the raccoons with no direction or help. You may not see any at all! We only saw one raccoon. So disappointing. The island is full of broken glass and rocks, so please wear shoes!! Once you arrive at the island, you will have approximately 15-20 minutes to locate any raccoons. It is very rushed and not worth the money. Our tour guide was not involved and seemed to be in a hurry the entire time. We experienced high winds, making it extremely difficult to kayak. When we mentioned the high winds and why the tour wasn't cancelled, all he said was, " Sorry, my boss is always trying to make a buck!! Avoid this tour at all costs! read more

This was so fun our guide Chichi was so so sweet and knowledgeable as well as the owners of the company who joined us as well. We first kayaked through the serene mangroves and then headed over to raccoon island. We parked our kayaks on the busy beach front on the island and he showed us where the raccoons typically hang out. We loved this experience in Miami. Being on the water, surrounded by nature and our friends is what we needed. We saw tree crabs, dolphins, a yellow crown night heron, an osprey, and raccoons. We swam in front of the island for about half an hour, a perfect opportunity to cool down and admire the fish around us. The equipment was in good shape and easy to use. I had a single kayak with was the right move for me, stable and fast. Tosh, our guide, was the bomb, he is knowledgeable, fun and friendly. I never write bad reviews but this was the worst kayak experience I have ever had. I booked the kayak adventure a week before we came to Miami. When I booked I specifically asked about kayaking to the Racoon island, they assured me we would go there. They did say we might not see dolphins and manatees which I understood they could not guarantee that. I specifically wanted to go to Racoon Island. The day before our kayak trip I got a text to come to another location. When we arrived I was informed by some young girl that seeing animals was not guaranteed but we still would go to island. After we got in the water our kayak guide explained we would not be going to Racoon Island due to the current, he later said the island was at a different location, not even near where we were. We kayaked to 3 island,s, one to see birds, other 2 islands to see fossils, yes I said fossils, so basically did not see no animals. I would not recommended this place to no one, they did not communicate what was occurring, they did not offer money back, pretty much looked at me, my husband and brother, like sorry for your bad luck. read more
