Food always good fast whether you eat in or take out the food is hot and good portions

So Good Restaurant offers both Chinese and Japanese dishes. Because I haven't had Chinese food for a while, I decided to order a few dishes. Overall I liked how most things tasted and how fast the service was. I also thought the inside was nicely decorated. Here's what I ordered: 1. Wonton Soup (small): This dish came with 6 pieces of wonton and broccoli in chicken broth. I thought the broth was way too salty and the wonton fillings were just ok. 2. Beef Chow Fun: I really enjoyed this dish because the flavours were on point and it wasn't salty. I would order this again. 3. Ma Po Tofu: The visual presentation of this dish was quite different from the picture in the menu. I thought the flavours were definitely toned down from the traditional ones I'm used to having. However, I still enjoyed it on top of my white rice and would recommend it. read more

This ship is going down. A few years ago it was my favourite place to eat out... best sushi and best Chinese in town and amazing service . Now it is garbage, the sushi is mediocre, Chinese food okay, but the service is the worst I have ever seen in my life. This is not based on one visit... it has progressively gotten worse over the last few years and now I say no, never again!!! I miss Jenny!! read more

The food is seriously delicious! If it hadn't been for the almost 2 hour wait (we were told it would be 45 mins to an hour) I would've given 5 stars. Last time we ordered it took over an hour and a half. Excellent food, way too long of a wait! read more

It's amazing how well an old McDonald's can be transformed and So Good is so much better than any fast-food hamburger I've had! One of my favourite things about this restaurant is their offering of both Chinese and Japanese food. While we have since moved away, we liked ordering take-out and also dined-in on a few occasions. Garbage service found hair in two dishes. When we told the manager he yelled at us. Worst dinning experience I've ever had.

I ordered a combo dinner for two and the beef and broccoli. Although I found the price to be a little more than the average place, I was very pleased with the food. I ordered it for delivery and the delivery guy was extremely pleasant, cheerful and in good spirits. I found the woman who took my order to also be very pleasant to deal with. I find that to be less and less common these days for both the person taking the order and the delivery person, so it was a nice refreshing change. Will definitely order from here again. read more

With 6 years of living in Japan, it would be fair to say that my criticism of Sushi is fairly severe. Take it from me, for value for money Sushi there are none better than SoGood in Prince George. The staff are friendly, the decor suitable and comfortable, and the presentation of the food very nice. Of course, the dishes are not 100% traditional and the seafood quality is what you would normally expect in PG, but overall Sogood is a good choice IMHO. read more

Has anyone noticed fortune cookies have stopped the practice of revealing your destiny in favor of being just oddly instructive? "Finish what you started." Ummm...okay...so I guess that means I better finish this review. Or maybe it just refers to the cookie...either way that fortune is somewhat of a softball. My past experiences with So Good have been mixed, with one bad episode Oreo'd between a pair of pleasant ones. It wasn't a good start to this day, marred by my own mistake of forgetting my wallet, discovering the fact two feet from the restaurant's doors. So Good remains one of the better looking Japanese restaurants, disregarding its outer shell when it used to be a McDonalds. It manages to blend its Chinese and Japanese styles into something you'd expect to be confusing but isn't. In defense of previous praise, I've only ordered sushi from So Good, having never attempted its Chinese. And it still has its sushi bar, a fact I admired at a distance from my table. So Good is also one of the few places in town openly serving sushi in novelty boats. Seriously, if you want to host a large-scale party in a Japanese restaurant, So Good would be your best, if probably only, choice. I mean, come on...boats. I ordered the combo C, listed at a modest $15.95, and with that you get eleven pieces, eleven tiny pieces. I know, I've been ranting about how annoyed I've been at the oversized cuts of fish at places like Tokyo and Wasabi. So Good apparently moved in the opposite direction. So am I going to complain? Is So Good doing this to make a point? Am I wrong to want smaller cuts? Are we alone in the universe? When cows laugh, does milk come out of there noise? Some mysteries remain unsolved, but not all. Smaller cuts are better. I would rather have more pieces and enjoy a variety than attempt to unhinge my jaw attempting to swallow an oversized salmon nigiri. The maki were a good size, and the variety of nigiri was admirable, although in truth, the avocado was cheap alternative to tuna. The dynamite roll was incredible. I ended up ordering an additional cone for good measure, and it ended up being one of the best cones I've ever had. Some chefs just cram rice and then top it like a Nestle drumstick...a cold, delicious, and crunchy Nestle... I hate my diet. Yes, the pieces were small, and the value was dubious compared to others in town, but unlike the others, I actually enjoyed my meal. I was tempted to ask the chef over and compliment them on their quality. I would even hasten to say that So Good might have gotten actually better since last time I was here. Was this luck? I'm going to have to review this place yet again to make sure this was not an anomaly. I means it's not perfect. For some bizarre reason, the booth seats are not connected to their back and neither are connected to the wall, so on more than one occasion, I thought I was to tumble out of my chair. As I was enjoying my meal, I found another surprise, a Chinese special on a card sitting by my table...and it was IN Chinese. Beef brisket hot pot and lamb hot pot. Dare I fear my assumptions of the Chinese food was wrong as well? Will I have to return and attempt that as well? What the hell is going on here? I should be hating this place. It looks like the So Good just got into the lead as the best Sushi place in town. Last point, my meal concluded with that aforementioned and oddly oppressive fortune cookie. Now, some of you may expect me to snicker about its presence, except that in truth, it totally fits. The Mandarin in Iron Man 3 challenged the assumption that the fortune cookie was a Chinese invention when it was in fact American. He is wrong...he is also fictional, so I'll just blame Shane Black, the writer. In fact, it's Japanese, invented by immigrants after World War II. You could still accuse it of being technically American, but let's just accept that its placement at the end of a Sushi meal in a Canadian restaurant is totally fitting. And now you know ...because knowledge is power. For the first time reviewing Japanese restaurants, I'm increasing my score. Heaping portion of good Chinese. Chop suey very garlicky watch out if you need to see customers after. Staff very friendly and helpful.

First impression; not sure how Mcdonalds can be changed into a nice restaurant, but hey lets give it a go. We were introduced to the place by friends, and we were very impressed with the service and the food was fabulous. It was the first time that I tried Tofu and actually enjoyed it. I recommend you give their's a try! I loved the assortment of Japanese and Chinese cuisine, as I love Japanese and my husband is not a fan. It is a place that we will definitely revisit again, as I can now enjoy Japanese cuisine with my husband. read more

This is a pretty good sushi place I would put it in the top three for Prince George next to wasabi and sushi star. It has a clean atmosphere and polite staff with decent prices. read more

The Chinese food options in PG are wide. Many places, all with roughly the same selection. But, with So Good, there is a difference. The food actually tastes FRESH! I repeat. FRESH! Like it is actually cooked rather than the box-to-fryer-to-plate system loved by many other restaurants. Fresh veggies that are cooked rather than a paste-like substance that is in a vegetable shape is a bonus above the standard chinese food in the city. The menu is large, but that is good in this restaurant, as they cook it good, no matter what you choose. This place cooks it very reasonably fast, even when it is wall to wall people. I am referring to both the Japanese menu and the Chinese food menu when I say fresh and good. Even with take-out or delivery, they make it gooooooood. Fresh, delivered to your home sushi and Chinese food. Wins. Every. Time. Don't believe me? Check who the winner of the 1978 Super Bowl was. Go ahead. I'll wait. You seen it? That's right. Delivery from So Good won that Super Bowl. Oscar nomination for best picture in 1998? Here's a hint: it rhymes with "So" and "Good" and they deliver. What did Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, and the rest of the crew eat while filming 'Breaking Bad?" Only food from So Good. Don't believe me? Watch the Emmy acceptance speeches.
