I can't express what a lovely experience we had in this adorable café. It is tucked away in a remote strip mall that looks like it's going out of business so it was an unlikely find. BUT LOOK FOR IT!! I would recommend you go there because the food is absolutely scrumptious and it is a gem. The owner says they are moving to a busier location in central Killeen soon, so that will make them more visible and get the reviews they really deserve. The food tasted like homemade, nothing artificial about it. My husband had some grilled chicken and some sweet potato mash and some asparagus that was also grilled. I had their delicious grilled salmon, sweet corn bread, asparagus, and brown rice. All of it was prepared as if you were at your grandma's house. The owner came out and spoke to I asked, asking questions. He said that they offer military discount, and they really take good care of their clients. The ginger tea was amazing. When we left we felt satisfied but not like we were not overstuffed and it was a nice experience compared to many of the chain restaurants that are all over the place in this part of Texas. If you are looking for a clean quiet and healthy option this is the place to go. They said they could gladly make it and with the best resource of vegan cheese places use, Daiya cheese. The TV show Restaurant Impossible was just out last week, and the place looks amazing! I never had the opportunity to go out before the renovation, but I am VERY pleased with the current state. The atmosphere is so light and fresh and the food is delicious. The biggest boon is how inclusive the menu is to a variety of dietary needs, which is SO needed in central Texas. I am vegan and my dad is gluten-free and we had no problems ordering! They also have organic, non-GMO, and paleo, and grass-fed options. I had the hummus and veggies, the black-bean burger with the cashew-caesar salad, and a slice of vegan pecan pie. Delicious! My dad also enjoyed his mediterranean-style pasta salad. Yesterday was my mother n laws birthday so I took her and my wife to So Natural for the first time. I had a wonderful Cesar salad with a in house dressing followed by a vegan lemon cheese cake made from nuts. My mother n law had the organic chicken with the sweet potato lash and spinach. We wanted to eat healthier tonight after several days of traveling and we stumbled upon So Natural and their really good reviews. Don't let the shopping center sway you. I had doubt when I saw the center but we went in and quickly decided that we had made a good choice. One of the owners was working tonight and invited us to the front counter to see the full menu. The four of us each chose something different - I got the jerk chicken special, my wife got a chicken breast with Mac and cheese, and our friends got a salmon meal and a vegetarian special. We all agreed that the meals were delicious. The cabbage was perfectly seasoned, Mac and cheese was obviously home made and the chicken was juicy and flavorful. I was in harker heights so I thought I'd check it out. I don't have tv so I didn't know about it when it was showcased. I only knew bc of the reviews. I was excited to try a local fresh place to eat. I know nothing of the before but the after is a very natural/organic feel to it. I liked all the green and the chalk menu writing. What was nice was the family own feel and good customer service. I went there at 7:30 and they close at 8. They made me feel like it was still ok to eat inside, which I appreciated. I got the jerk chicken and it was good but what made the dish was all the sides! The cauliflower was cooked perfectly. The tomatoes gave it a sweet taste. I'm not always a fan of quinoa but this was really good. It wasn't mushy or hard, just a perfect texture. I think what made it good was the chimichurry sauce. It wasn't overpowering but it added something to the whole dish that tied it together. It felt light and filling. I will go back to check out other dishes. I also loved that they have products sold at local groceries. There was a young boy sweeping the floor and it was really cute that he knew so much about their products. He was working and providing customer service and advertising their other locations that sold their products. I appreciate a kid who knows good business and the art of up sale. It was more like being invited as a guest in someone's home. They were warm and friendly. Open to any questions. And happy to serve us, like we were their favorite cousins come to visit. You can't get better than that. If, however, you are looking for a snobby, glassy eyed "I eat, smoke, and wear hemp. Therefore, I am way too cool to make eye contact with you or speak to you" (a real possibility when entering a vegan eatery in say, Olympia, WA). Then this is not the place for you. This is real food for real people. Food: Hubby and I had lunch. Just simple, basic, excellent sandwiches. His, chicken, mine, a burger...yes, we are carnivores....no apologies. Still, this doesn't provide much to review. All I can say is, the food was excellent, better than expected. Simple, clean, and filling. We were satisfied body and soul. The serving sizes are correct, single servings. If you are expecting to be super sized, then you will be disappointed. If you are accustomed to gorging yourself, you will think you got ripped off. However, if you understand that the average American is obese because they eat too damn much food all the time...just a fact, not a judgement...then you will appreciate that this restaurant does not tempt you to gorge yourself. SPECIAL NOTE: THE PALEO CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE GETS A 5 STAR RATING! Price: 2 years of Paleo eating for 2 adults averages $800 a month in groceries. You don't even have to do the math to know it's expensive, just go buy 1 organic zucchini at HEB. Yes, healthy, clean, real, organic, vegan food is expensive. Plus, we cave-persons don't get to eat grain, no pasta filling our plates at pennies a serving. So, to me a $28 meal for 2 that is pure, doesn't give me heartburn, no pesticides, no GMOs, super fresh, healthy, etc ., is not expensive...you had me at no cooking and cleaning, thank you. I just visited for the grand opening today and really enjoyed everything. There are gluten-free items, vegan items, southern items, meat items, and many other items on the menu. Almost everything is organic. There is something for everyone-salads, mac and cheese, meat loaf, pizza, and more. I tried the gluten-free pizza and can say it's the best I've had in the area. I also had the gluten-free butter cookie which was delicious. The owners were very friendly and eager to meet their community. They will also be adding even more to the menu as time goes on. I've been to So Natural a few times and I haven't been disappointed yet. My favorite thing to get is the grass-fed hamburger with sweet potato fries. The Greek pasta salad is also great. Although the service is a bit slow and the prices could been seen by some as a tad pricey, the staff are incredibly friendly and the food is so good that it's entirely worth the wait and cost. My only wish for this place is that they would expand their "market" to include more goods, but that has no bearing on the wonderful food and friendly staff. read more

Which for us was a great sign, we checked out the shelf area first and they had a great selection of a couple different organic items. Both were absolutely delicious. The ginger lemonade is also delicious, and I'm not a fan of ginger anything. It was sweet and harmonious blend of both ginger and lemonade. Freaking amazing! They really know their stuff here! Luvina and her daughter were working when I got here. I ordered a burger on Paleo almond bread and got a side of baked sweet potato fries. My dad ordered the daily special: meatloaf with cornbread, gluten free mac and cheese, and Paleo chili. Oh my gosh - I could have eaten that chili for two weeks straight. Everything was AMAZING. For dessert, we shared the chocolate vegan cheesecake- which was to die for, and the Paleo chocolate chip cookie- classic! Again, I could have had it again and again! Had lunch with a friend today. They had a small menu selection, I ordered the chicken sandwich with gluten free bread and baked fries and a drink this costed me $15 for myself alone. I couldn't imagine how expensive it would be bringing a whole family. Each item is sold separately instead of a combo like most places. so the prices really add up. When the final total came out I was shocked at how steeped the price was. Yikes! Also, the so called "market" portion of the place really didn't have much. my pantry has more stuff, it was kinda sad.
