I would highly recommend this place! I went in for an eye exam and everyone was so nice and helpful. The doctor was knowledgeable about all of the eye problems I have been having, and got me in and out quickly. They gave me an amazing deal on glasses!! I have been putting off buying a new pair because glasses are usually so expensive, but they made the whole process quick, easy, and cheap. Having worn glasses for 30 years, finding a good optometrist is a must. So far, Dr So's office is my favorite. I've been in for glasses in the past, but most recently I've been in for pre and post lasik care so I've had to be in about 4 times in the span of 6 weeks and I can say with certainty that Dr So's group, especially his office staff, are incredible. Dr So and his colleague Dr Yip have both been great. They never seem like they're just rushing to the next appointment - they'll talk to you and make you feel comfortable and make sure you have all your options. In the case of Lasik, they make sure you thoroughly understand what you're getting into and are prepared for the necessary care. Everyone that works there seems to genuinely care about their patients. They're super-capable, and with all the questions I've thrown at them and weird requests I've made, I've never been able to stump anyone or make them pause for even a moment - they just know what to do. I first visited Dr. So February 2015 for worsening double vision. For the past 10 years I had been told by all previous optometrists that it was a condition I would have to live with. Dr.So was the first to do what I felt was the most thorough exams, and was the first to give me hope...surgery was available, and actually recommended for me at this point becauses corrective lenses wouldn't cut it anymore to help my strabismus or diplopia. I am grateful for that ray of hope. Through Kaiser I had a couple surgeries, the strabismus has been corrected. Visited Dr. So October 2015 for eye exam, and provided me with great advice. Rather than trying to sell me something, he recommended that I allow my eyes to heal more from surgery before spending money on a new prescription. This is the most caring office ever. From when you call to schedule your appointment, to checking in, to the actual visit with Dr. So. I highly recommend them. I am so pleased with them so much so that I am willing to drive from the High Desert, where I live, to visit this office. read more

I've been going to Dr so since 6th grade, I'm now in my 30s still doing my yearly visits. Their practically extended family. Dr so is very thorough in explaining what's happening to my eyes, he will instantly draw me a diagram to help me understand. And with frames and lenses they're customer satisfaction is 100% priority. Hmmm where to start???? So I decided to get my eyes checked since I constantly have red eyes and I look like freaking Satin. Lol I called the office on a Thursday and they were able to see me the following day which worked out great since I had the afternoon off from work. Once walking into the office I was immediately greeted by a guy name Philip. He was hilarious and kept the environment upbeat and relaxing. I forgot why I even went in since he was such a chatter box. There was no wait to see the doctor which was great!!!! They offered to take additional pictures of your retina for a thorough exam which only cost $20. Sadly it's not a covered benefit for me but I was in to get answered so I figured why not. Once I met Dr. So, I didn't even realize he was the doctor since he wasn't in a lab coat and he dressed in jeans and a black shirt. He was asked me questions about my medical history and my families medical history and then explained why he asked those questions. He wasn't rushing me when I asked him questions. He sat with me and really explained my eye condition to me. I had told him I had just seen my primary care doctor and my optometrist and they had told me not to worry about my red eyes, that it was probably just allergies. I told him I was using over the counter eye drops, Systane (which aren't cheap), and he explained why I had allergy symptoms. Dr. So said any eye drops with preservatives cause allergy symptoms like sneezing, runny nose and itchy eyes. He told me I didn't have allergies and to stop using those crap eye drops. He gave me preservative free eye drops and a steroid for the redness. He also mentioned I probably have an auto immune disorder rheumatoid arthritis because of my severe dry eyes. Dr. So put these special eye drops in my eye to determine if I had any damage and he explained that the dye would turn blue in the damage area. He was blown away to see my entire eye burn blue. He explained I needed routine care and to follow up in two weeks. He was shocked that my previous optometrist didn't catch it. He even explain that I'm building a callus over one of my eyes due to the dryness. He said if I didn't take care of it now the callus would grow. WTF!!! Who gets a callus on their eye lol. Well dr. So is the greatest! Such a sweet and kind doctor. He's saved my vision before it was too late! I'm so glad I decided to see a new optometrist.
