Had to find somewhere to do laundry! Glad I found this place. Safe, clean, machines all worked great. The lady on duty was really nice. I NEVER thought I would have to post on here such a BAD review of this "historic" laundrymat just south of downtown Grove City OHIO - across from the skating rink and trailer park on Broadway. I have always been proud to give a referral to this little, old, business. But I can NO LONGER say that any more. 0 Stars - and I have actually been requested to NOT ever return to this business. Friday May 22nd I hobbled into to do a out $30 worth of laundry that I had piled up in the last six weeks due to being in the hospital with a mTBI and concussion plus other injuries. This was my first outing ALONE since being released from the hospital Monday. After struggling to get my laundry out of my vehicle, I used a laundry cart as a walker instead of taking my new rollerator walker in also. Carol noticed I wasn't doing well but she never broke off her conversation with whoever it was that she was bending their ear to ask if I was OK. Even though the night before I told her I wasn't doing well and would tell her all about when I saw her at the laundrymat to do my backlog of laundry. No problem, but after I got my things inside, she did look over and ask if I was doing Ok? I said No but I would talk to her after I went to the bathroom. No problem there either except I had to repeat myself 3 times so that she could "hear" me because I was "spent" already after just unloading car and getting things inside. Ok, so I went to the bathroom, as I was finishing in the bathroom (that doesn't even have a sink to wash up after doing your business) I saw at least 5 of varying sizes but all very active Roaches. I went out and quietly told her there were roaches in the bathroom. She acted like I shouldn't worry about it because, Dave, the owner, and her spray but they can't get them all. And they don't bother her anymore because she even has them at her apartment. I told her that I need to get my stuff outside and asked her if she had any extra ROACH spray to spray my stuff outside before putting it all back in my car. She acted like I was being hysterical and unreasonably making such a request. WOW! Needless to say I ended up asking GCPD to assist in getting my laundry out of there because I didn't/couldn't have enough energy left after all the arguing she was giving me. The only reason I've been coming here for 8 years is because it is literally the closest laundromat to where I live. No other reason. Unless you are extremely close by, don't bother coming here. And even then, consider going somewhere else. Carol is so incredibly rude. I have never seen a place employ such a rude person for so many years. I have seen and heard way too much from her. The fact that she still works here and doesn't seem to receive any repercussions for her behavior, tells me all I need to know about the owner too. The other employees aren't exactly great either, but nowhere near as rude as Carol. I get that people have bad days, especially in customer service positions, but this is beyond just having a bad day. It's just outright poor character. On top of the poor customer service, there are giant cockroaches. I've worked for various cleaning companies so I am well aware that all commercial buildings have bugs, often including cockroaches, but these are HUGE and just run all around the place. It's getting worse and they don't seem to care. The bathroom is small and doesn't have a sink... the sink is out between some of the washers. Gross. Put a sink in the bathroom. There is also no air conditioning and it gets very hot during the summer. They just prop the doors open and turn on fans, which is better than nothing, but it lets a bunch of flys in. It's so hot that I can't be bothered to come in during the day - only later once the sun has gone down and it's less crowded. I'm done with this place. I will pay more to go somewhere else even if it's a bit further. read more

This is a locally owned laundromat off of Broadway. It is in a convenient location right off of the main Street. The parking lot isn't well kept but, it is decent. There are only a few spots out front so, if you come on a busier day, you'd have to park in front of another business. There is a bar next door. It could definitely use professional cleaning. The floors, the inside of the washers, etc. I'm not sure if this is mold or detergent build up in the machines but- it sure is ugly. The machines wash well. The dryers look to be pretty new. I didn't dry here, though. This place has both a coin-op option and the use of a debit/credit card. They have a refillable laundromat card as well. However, I used to two units and since I swiped my card twice, $20 was held each time... so that's $40 tied up on less than $10 worth of washing. It's a little annoying. This is my second time coming so, I won't say that I won't come again but, I did try to find somewhere else first lol. I'd say come if you have to. read more

Update update.... Mira was nice enough to let me stay late again due to all the running around and trying to find cash and call the number that didn't work and try to wait on rebooting the machines that didn't work. She's the best. Two and a half hours later I have one load of laundry done. Update.... their credit card machines went down and they wouldn't credit anyone. Shit out of luck even if we had wet clothes that only needed drying. Had to go down the street to a gas station with an atm and pay a $2 fee to get a freakin $20 bill to get quarters. It's taken me more than 2hrs to do one load of laundry trying to find cash bc the card reader was supposed to be getting fixed by the time I messed around with the washer enough to find cash, after the "call this number for issues" phone number was disconnected and attendant wasn't on site. Freaking ridiculous. Mira was working and patiently waited for me to get my laundry out of the dryer even though I was about 10 minutes after closing to finish. I got off work with no time to do laundry and no uniforms and she was so awesome! Thank you again!! Definitely five stars for cleanliness and wonderful staff read more

Safe? Check. Clean? Check. Machines have change? CHECK! I got change for a $20 yesterday! Machines work? Check. I saw one out of service a week ago & it was fixed yesterday. Reasonable prices? Check. Extras: A little play space for the kiddos; a couple of vending machines; fans even though its never hot in there (even in THIS weather!); attendant on duty during the day and a phone number listed in case you need assistance when no attendant is there; AND a bar right next door. Not a fancy bar, but a bar nonetheless. I have been going 20 mins. one way, out of my way to use this laundromat because another one within a mile of my house is pathetic. If you have to go to a laundromat, Soap City is the place to go! read more

Be very careful using this laundry. They do not clean their machines, so a left-over crayon ruined a load of light clothes. No offer to try to remove the stains or pay for re-cleaning. It's truly "use at your own risk", and I don't recommend risking it. read more

I love this place! I was new to the area and found this place by doing a web search. I have use other laundry establishments before that I would best describe as a hole in the wall, but not Soap City. It is great. It's extremely clean and the staff goes above and beyond to assist you. When I walked in the woman behind the counter looked at me and said "your new here...let me give you at tour". We walked around the whole facility showing me the machines, telling what machines were best for different laundry needs. She explained all the services they provided as well as the rewards card.
