They've got high-end makeup, jewelry, and accessories like Vera Bradley bags. Expensive, yes, but not crazy ridiculous depending on what you buy. I can't afford most of the things Merle Norman has, but if I want to splurge, I come here. My husband bought me a lovely charm bracelet for Christmas last year and occasionally we go to pick out another charm, usually around $12. The salespeople are friendly and patient, which makes the experience nice as well -- since you're probably spending a lot of time in here if you're going to spend a nice chunk of money. There aren't too many high-end stores in Georgetown, so this is pretty popular with the ladies in the area.

Since the products were packaged in cardboard boxes, I asked the sales associate if she could show me what a couple of the containers looked like. She happily opened two of the boxes so I could see them. As I was looking at another option, I started to open the box myself, and her attitude changed immediately. She told me that if I opened that box, they would have to throw it away. That really confused me because she had just opened multiple boxes moments earlier to help me compare the products. I couldn't understand why it was acceptable when she did it but not when I did. From that point on, the interaction felt very awkward, and she came across as short and rude. I understand there was a line and they were busy, but if helping customers choose a birthday gift slows down the checkout process, it might make more sense to display the birthday gifts somewhere other than the cash register. I love that Ulta offers choices, but the experience of selecting one shouldn't leave customers feeling like they're inconveniencing the staff. So this rating is based solely on the customer service interaction
