I both love and hate lush. I love all the smell good products. My favorite are bubble bars (aka: bubble bath), bath bombs, solid shampoo bars and solid conditioner bars. Things I hate about lush: 1.) The price of things. Seriously, I just paid over $9 for one bath bomb. I want to spend hundreds of dollars on these products, but my state job doesn't pay enough for that. Obviously these are lux items and aren't a need but a want. And I want 'em! 2.) The worker bees are annoying AF! They try to have a conversation with me like they know me. We are in the South and people are friendly, but not that friendly. Please just ask if I need help and explain the items to me. Don't ask how my grandma is doing because you don't know me and the answer is dead. I might need a sign that says leave me alone. 3.) Oh and the "friendly" worker bee that wanted to be my new BFF, didn't even point me to the new products on the shelf. She didn't show me the new fresh face mask area. I LOVE this place. Kinda pricey, but it's very worth it in my opinion. I don't have very sensitive skin, but I am sensitive to some scents. That being said, I've never had a bad experience with any of the fragrances used here. I love that this store is the way it is - everyone is very nice and welcoming, and i love that there is more space than the previous little corner in Macy's. I do love how there is a bigger selection of inventory, and the fact that you can call ahead to check on specialty items like the new releases. Biggest issue for me is just parking nearby. But if you love great smelling items with ethical purposes, come check it out. I 100% recommend the Sleepy Twilight spray to knock yourself out! read more

This store has the best staff. I have been in a lot recently because my tween daughter and her friends have all decided Lush is the store. Although I'm still adjusting to paying as much as I do for my beauty products for my kid's soap, I do at least appreciate that they are made with quality ingredients and the company is environmentally aware. The staff has always been amazing and helpful offering to demo products, even if the girls are basically window shopping to get ideas for gifts later. I was very confused when I went to Macy's the other day on a quest for a holiday gift from LUSH. I arrived at where LUSH should've been and found.... something else. Upon inquiries (of which I was apparently the fifth person to ask that day), I found out LUSH had only leased that corner from Macy's and now had a new location at the Summit. Off I went. I got lost driving around the Summit for a bit before I finally spotted LUSH next to The Barn and went inside. I took a quick glance around this store, saw the sheer size (whoa! probably quadruple the space they had at Macy's and therefore, room for many more products) and the number of people, I zoomed in on the specific product I needed, talked briefly with a *gasp!* non-pushy saleswoman, ran to the checkout, and left. They threw a hand cream sample in the bag, too. I used to love LUSH but was eager to get in and out quickly. If someone gifts me something from LUSH, great!! That's wonderful!! However, I never linger and browse anymore because I know I cannot afford most of the stuff (luxury, "natural" bath and body items) and the longer I stay, the more the workers jump on me. Just not my thing anymore. I still love their deodorant, but otherwise I'm good. And I'll just come here to get gifts for other people. read more

I got a suggestion for a body scrub while checking out and even got a sample to take home which I am excited to try out. They label their samples so that you know what you've tried and what you liked which is helpful. I love browsing in the store and trying out their products. I like this location of Lush. I don't use a ton of Lush products, but I do love their bath bombs, so I'll stop into the store when shopping if there's one around. I've been to this location twice. The first time I had a bad experience, but then on my second visit I enjoyed the store and ended up purchasing a load of bath bombs. On my first visit to this location a store associate told us we had "one minute" the second we walked through the door. I get it, everywhere has a closing time. But, why were they still letting people into the store? Not to mention that by my watch we had more like 10 minutes before closing. We were so turned off by the store associate rudely telling us we only had "one minute" to shop that we turned immediately around and walked out. In my opinion they should lock the doors when they're closing, or have someone stand at, or even outside, the door and let people know they're closing. Either way, they shouldn't let people into the store and then basically yell at them. On my second visit I spent some time inside the store, just browsing products. Two different store associates asked if I needed help with anything during my shopping trip, which I politely declined, but it's nice to know that they're willing to help if you need it. An associate also did a couple of product demos while I was shopping, which I think is nice. I ended up purchasing 6-7 bath bombs during that trip, so it was a successful one. I don't live in Lexington, but I visit often. And I often find myself shopping at The Summit at Fritz Farm. So, I'm sure I'll find myself at this Lush location again. And I think it's a find place to shop for bath and personal care products. If you haven't been into a Lush store before, I definitely recommend checking this one out. This has become one of my favorite places. I've bought a coffee shampoo bar, American Dream conditioner, a bumble bees in shower lotion bar, a bath bomb, edible carrot cake lip scrub, body butter and Vanillary perfume. I have been 100% satisfied with everything I have bought. I have a list of things I want to try there. The best part is that everything is natural with essential oils, Shea butter etc. There are no hard chemicals and no testing on animals. When you go into the store, you can pretty much try anything before you buy it. In fact, the employees encourage it and will help you. Go in and check it out, you won't be disappointed. read more

We were greeted warmly when we arrived and treated to a tour of their products. It was exciting to see so many zero waste options available and to know that the products are all natural. So many of the products were beautifully crafted and will make absolutely gorgeous gifts. The products are a bit expensive but will last quite a long time, so the price may be worth it. We were concerned with the plastic tubs but were told that if we can return them to the store and they will reuse/recycle. And they have a program that allows you to bring back 5 tubs, I believe, for reuse/recycle and you will receive a free mask. They also have fabric available for zero waste gift wrapping, what a great idea! I love that they are so earth-conscious! read more

Lush, why must you be so expensive?! Rent in The Summit must be a few pretty pennies, so I'll try to be understanding about that. In the past, Lush locations were simply a small department in Macy's locations. It was there, in Fayette Mall Macy's that I fell for Lush. The day after Christmas, they had the then only sale of the year. I bought a bar of probably half of all of their natural bar soap options made with natural ingredients. Keep in mind, that was a few years ago, so they probably won't run that same sale here, but you get the point of how I fell. I've tried countless other bar soaps from local merchants, you know the ones that you find at festivals and markets? None of those compare to the ones at Lush. The bar soaps here are priced by the ounce, so be prepared to spend a bit more here, but you get what you pay for. They leave your skin smelling the same as the soap, even without using lotion afterward. Everything here has quirky names... one of the bath bombs was "Sex Bomb". Boom. One thing I've found about the bath bombs though, the scent doesn't last long. So, don't plan to stock up on those. I think a lot of the product here have shelf life dates. I think it's because of the natural ingredients in the products. In the back is a facial area. There was a group getting facials, well they said that they aren't supposed to call them facials, so it's just a way to try their facial masks. There is a line of masks that only have a shelf life of a few weeks and you have to store them in the refrigerator. So, think fruit based products that last about the same time as fruit does before it spoils. I tried the blueberry one. It left my skin recognizable soft, but I knew it would spoil before I would only end up using half of the container. So, I went with a different 10-minute mask with a longer shelf life and the sea salt scrub, making it out without breaking the bank. read more

This was my first time visiting Lush. I've always wanted to go but wasn't sure it was worth the prices. My kids have been using exorbitant amounts of shampoo lately, I'm talking 4 bottles in a month. I've read about the shampoo bar and wanted to see if that would help. Well they haven't tried it yet, but I am hooked. It lathers so effortlessly and smells beautiful. I got the Jason and the Afghan oil, with a light scent of rose. I've always hated the smell of rose, but this was somewhat faint. My hair was so clean, soft, and shiny, I did use my normal conditioner with it. I'm counting to see how many shampoos it will make with my hair, but considering our biolage shampoo bottles are the same price, it's definitely going to save us some money! read more

I went to Lush to shop for Christmas gifts. I have to give them 5 stars for one on one customer service. Very polite and helpful even though they were extremely busy. I do wish their gift wrap/bagging was a little nicer. A plain handled pink bag with no tissue just doesn't seem to suit the cost of the items. I know you can purchase already wrapped gift sets but I wanted other things to make my own set; Helpful hint to Corporate. I really loved the store and service though. Nice employees! read more

The store is cute, they have some interesting products, and I love the location in the Summit. Prices do seem overly high on many products, but the biggest turnoff for me is how incredibly pushy and overbearing the employees are!
