It's a lovely place, clean as a whistle and the staff is courteous, pleasant and very helpful. I cannot recommend the place any more highly. I just went and put 60 dollars on my soaps and suds card go and wash my clothes when finished I noticed that one of the dryers didn't drain all the water and and towells were still saturated. I went to let manager know that it had not drained and the manager goes on to say wtf am I supposed to do and out it? For laundromat newbies like me: Look around before you choose a washer. I chose a 5-load washer and paid over $7 to use it. The smaller washers are in the back and range from $3 to $5. Also, if you use pods, put them inside with the clothes not in the detergent reservoir on top. Had to wash twice when it didn't work correctly. Initially, I was put off by the rechargeable card because I knew I'd end up leaving a balance on it, but it was honestly easier than using quarters. In the end, I paid $25 to wash two loads of laundry. Lots of waiting tables. read more

Washing machine is broken, oh no! Soaps-N-Suds was closest to home. The facility is clean and tidy, there were plenty of machines, almost all in working order. The washing machines cost between $2.79-$6.99 depending on what kind of machine you want to use. I went for the mid grade $4.99 model, not really sure what the quality or capacity difference is.... the giant dryer is $.79 to use. I had my little one with me, thankfully they had two big screen TVs with cartoons to entertain her, nice booth seats to sit in while waiting, and vending machines for snacks. You will have to exchange your cash (no coins) or credit card for a SNS card. Hopefully, I won't have to return. But, if I am in need of a laundromat in the future, I'll use this one for sure. read more

I've started going here recently for laundry and I wish I came here years ago. I usually get my clothes washed at washland. Upon my first visit here, I decided to make this my togo laundry mat spot. It's big and spacious, bench seats everywhere, folding table, Tv's. What sold me was their variety to washers which ranges from small loads (one basket) to medium (2-3 baskets) and large (4-6) baskets. If you don't like the spin washers there's plenty stand up ones near the bathrooms. Even their dryers come in different sizes and they actually work! This was my first time using a laundromat and mainly came because I had a king size comforter and loads of laundry from visitors that I wanted done all at once. It was a bit pricey considering I've dropped my king comforter off where I used to live and had it laundered for about $8. The place was very busy, but Peggy the attendant had it all the best control. She was super helpful explaining the machines and how it all worked. While getting our things out, one of the smaller comforters and sheet sets had been taken out of the dryer we were using! ALL of the clothes were left in, but these items were removed. Ugh. Hi can't say I was very thrilled. I went to Peggy and asked what happens when things disappear...she was quick to help and said it's never happened to her. We checked all the machines and then I was going to just chalk up losing $75 worth of bedding. As we were thinking how thus could have happened it occurred years us that a man had been folding very similar items earlier. I mentioned this to Peggy and she immediately knew who it was. A call to her manager was made and before we left the man came back with our things. He was doing laundry for a neighbor and mistakenly took ours...although left ALL the clothes. ??? I have a Washer and Dryer but I prefer to take my comforters to the Laundromat. This place is very clean. The washers come in many sizes all the way up to 45lb. The dryers get your clothes dry in minimal time and the cost is very reasonable. They have vending machines for snacks and big screen televisions for your viewing. That jerk Hurricane Matthew knocked out power for almost 48 hours this past weekend. That sucked for many reasons but one of the biggest was the fact we could not get any laundry done. It is beyond belief at how fast your dirty clothes pile up when your washing machine is nothing more than an oversized paperweight. I have not set foot in a laundromat in decades. That is how long ago college and first apartment living is for me. My memories are so vintage that I even showed up with a pocketful of quarters, thinking nothing had changed from the old coin operated machines of yore. To my surprise even laundromat technology has gone 21st century. Instead of quarters, you shove your credit card into an ATM like machine, charge the desired amount, and get another card with your "credit" spat out at you. Its kind of like gambling in Vegas in a way. You will never see that money again. Anyway, the machines are plentiful and work quickly. My load of laundry took just over 20 minutes and the big, industrial dryer took about ten minutes. After a quick folding session I was out of there in way less than an hour when I was expecting having to wait for an open machine for hours and hours. Can't complain about that. Why only four stars you ask? Because its a freaking laundromat! I'm not giving a fifth star to a place where people bring their dirty skivvies even though there was nothing wrong with the place. read more

Never been to a laundromat but part of bed bug treatment is taking all of your clothes and bedding and curtains to a laundromat and have them dried at high heat for 30 minutes... this spot was perfect! They have 45 pound dryers that run at high heat for 10 minute for $0.76. I took over 8 of them at once and did all my clothes! Also I didn't know if you could use credit cards here but you CAN! The attendants are very helpful. The machines are pricey but they have a machine that does 8 loads at once for 8.75. It washed for 23 mins. I washed 3 blankets and a few sheets. Terrific job. This was the first time I've been here (our washer/dryer is being installed) - the only downside is I wish the website would've stated you can only use their laundry card for services as I had already gone to the atm- got quarters and arrived ready to go. The big (not the huge one)cost $5.99 per load and the smaller running $4.99. We really couldn't decipher the cost of the dryer. All in all the employees really keep the place clean and organized. I love this place. I've moved closer to other laundry mats and I go out of my way to come here even though the prices have gone up since I've started coming here because of the staff!!! I absolutely love the girls that work there, they are friendly helpful, and that little one that works there will remember you and can talk to you about absolutely any subject. I'm always there late so I see them clean everything. Washers and dryers are cleaned out every night!!!! What I don't like... The people that work here in my opinion are underpaid. They don't even the benefit of washing their own laundry for free. Places where you make mini wage should offer a small benefit... Even when I worked for mc Donald's I got 5 dollars of food for free a shift. Greedy owner but seriously the customer service is incredible for a laundry mat!! I was originally going to give this place 4-stars but because there wifi is so damn great gonna have to bump it to 5. I came in around 7PM, to wash my bed sheets and pillow cases. Not that much people, pretty chill for the most part. On the way here from ODU, I was wondering how boring it was going to be to wait for my laundry to be done. BUT THANK GOD, the wifi was fast enough for me to play World of Warcraft. I was able to even finish a good portion of my homework. There's actually a lot of people that bring there laptops here too. Everyone is pretty much occupied doing something while they wait for their laundry. I'm not sure if they ever change the channel but Family Feud is always on everytime I'm here. A couple of years ago my washing machine took a crap. I came here one week while I was waiting for the repairman and realized this was the best place to do my college homework. From that moment on I kept coming here. It was awesome till a couple months ago. They lowered the limit you can lid on to your laundry card without triggering an ID check. Before it was 20(maybe 25). Went to Soap n Suds on 7629 on Granby St, in Norfolk Va @ 3:50 pm 11/26/2021. My clothes were not completely rinsed when I began taking my clothes out of the washer. I located the staff member and she was on her cellphone talking. When I said excuse me Miss. The look she gave me immediately showed she was the less bit encouraged to listen to my situation. She was crass and very rude. What di you want she said. I politely explained my situation and she was still holding her phone and told the other on line she told the other person she would have to call her back. I said openly to her: im sorry is it a problem that I am coming to you with a complaint about your washer. She snaps back, I don't know what you are talking about. I explained it again in a calm manner and still she made it seem like it was my fault for the reason the washer hadn't completely rinced. She said you are going to have to do some paperwork before I can do anything else. I had 4 pillows and clothes on the washer. I took the clothes out as she told me we could use a different machine but that it will have to go through another full wash, which I had no problem with. The pillows I thought might need to be done in a smaller washing machine so when I asked if possible for the inconvenience she allow the other small washer she said. I'm only going to do one. I told her of an incident I'd had previously with another Soap n Suds location and when It happened there they were so customer service oriented and helpful that they offered 4 small washers and helped me with the clothes. After the experience with the attendant, it showed me that If the president or CEO of Soap n Suds saw what transpired she might have been sent home to think about how customers feel and perhaps she could use her time more wisely attending to customers needs than snapping because she couldn't finish her conversation with her friend.
