We been using this cleaners for over 20 years they did a good job when they're still next to Farm Fresh on route 17. Since they moved, things have not been the same. I brought in 3 pair of pants that I pinned myself like I've done for the past 20 years. When I got them back, one was not altered where I pinned it. Brought it back and one of the young Assistants (HIGH ON POWER) informed me that if they didn't pin it then I am out of luck. I told her I always pin my clothes myself like always and she stated did anybody tell you that we have to pin the pants. I stated NO and asked her what it is matter. This is the only cleaners I've ever been to, like ever. So keep that in mind as I rave. They're great. Open early, close late. They even linger a few and let you in after hours if you look like you rushed after work and you really need that dress for tomorrow. They were even able to dry clean my decorative Ralph Lauren pillow. They took it apart and sewed it back together. I thought that was kinda cool.) They might be expensive; I'm not sure. If your dress has any detail on it, they call it "fancy" and charge you a little extra for its care. But these are your clothes that you think enough of to have professionally cleaned. I think the service at the Churchland Cleaners has always been really good and I've been going there for many years (disclaimer: I haven't been in a while because I live in Norfolk now, but my family stills goes here). This is a family owned business and the same people are working almost every time I go inside, which I like because they get to know you and what you need to have done. Today is Wednesday, June 26, 2019. I went to Churchland to pickup my laundry and dry cleaning, paid for heavy starch treatment in on my shorts but after examining the shorts once I was at vehicle, I discovered my shorts had no starch in them at all. I contacted the store manager (Jimmy), face to face he told me that I didn't understand the machine setting and that I was causing a problem. I told him that I paid for heavy starch treatment and that was not do done, he told me NOT TO COME BACK. Nothing short of a great experience. I came to town to surprise a friend I haven't seen in 6 years. Not only did they have my 3 items done within 4 hours, but Mr. Lee offered to watch my bags when I went to go get a haircut, washed a pair of shoes that I had (and they don't do shoes). Wonderful service! I took my diaper bag to be cleaned - inside and out, and picked up a spotless and clean diaper bag. I spilt a meal replacement shake inside and the outside of the diaper bag had a lot of scuff marks. When I picked up my diaper bag it was like I picked up a brand new bag! After visiting two other seamstresses, I went to Churchland Cleaners in a last ditch effort to get my wedding dress fitted. The other seamstresses told me there was nothing they could do, but the staff at Churchland Cleaners offered to give it a try, and now my dress fits perfectly. I have never been one to write reviews about places, but I had to remark on the kindness of the staff and the wonderful job they did fixing my dress. The stitching was far more professional than the professional seamstress who had first fixed it, and they were so willing to work with me to make it perfect. I have been a customer of Churchland Cleaners for over 15 years and have received excellent service, up until today. I spoke to the woman behind the counter about repairing a large zippered dog bed (emptied without padding) and requested a quote on who much the tailor would charge to sew the hole my dog created. The tailor was busy and I was told to drop it off and someone would call me with the quote. I was very clear that I wanted the quote prior to any repair. I checked my phone messages at the end of the day and a woman from Churchland Cleaners left a message that was not clear. I returned the call, explained why I was calling and the woman said that the tailor had already fixed the bed and the cost was $25. BAD BUSINESS. I did not authorize the repair. When I went to the business the women at the counter understood the problem but the tailor was nasty to me when he was at fault for repairing prior to authorization. I told him that I would only pay him the cost of a new bed which was $14. I paid it when I should have just walked out with giving them a cent. Shame on the women who failed to make it clear to the tailor that I only wanted an estimate. It's sad to have seen the two women who work the counter hiding in the back. read more

Warning! If you value your clothing do not use this cleaners. Twice, this cleaners damaged my clothing. They ripped my shirt and tried to say it was because the material was thin. The first time, they ripped by silk scarf. They made not attempt to offer anything for ripping my shirt but tried to tell me I shouldn't buy shirts with that material!
