My child attends daycare here for 3 years and she really loves it there. Everyone is so friendly and nice, she loves her teachers. I love the curriculum they have for the different age groups. I love this daycare center! Both of my boys have flourished here and their teachers truly love and nurture them. My second son is a covid baby and is very hesitant around other people, but he is happy here and loves his teachers. My older son has been attending for over two years now and he has had amazing teachers and loves going to school. The director and assistant director are wonderful and caring. Worst/most unprofessional staff we have encountered while having moved around and had different daycares; and by staff I mean mainly management (the director and assistant) are very dismissive if you express concern and ask questions; they have such great "don't-care attitude" when oh say your child comes home with various serious injuries and bruises (within a period of 10 days) and you dare to inquire about the incidents. The favorite answer is "I dont know/Im not sure/I wasnt here/the teacher is not here--and of course, there is no follow up whatsoever. I am writing this now after transitioning my daughter to another daycare and running into other parents that have had the same issues with this specific location. It was pure neglect on the staffs part and unprofessionalism to say the least. read more

Not impressed. We sent our kids here for six weeks, but pulled them out for a few reasons: - My older kid got kicked in the face, which was communicated verbally to us (they said they suspended the other kid) but this was never formally documented. I asked for a follow up call from the teacher to get more information and never got one. - My younger kid has eczema managed by lotion. He has attended two other daycares over the last two years without an issue, but had near constant flareups in the time he was here. Uncertain if it was environmental or application-related. Either way, they gave us notice at pickup one day that he wasn't welcome back without a doctor's note. With no time left in the day to even try to call around to make arrangements, that is very hard to adjust around. - Poor communication, just a few examples: Picture day was communicated as "Tuesday or Wednesday" but only one of them was ultimately shot on Thursday... and the promised purchase/preview link never sent. A reminder for a toddler water day we weren't told about in person was sent out at 10:30p the previous night, which again leaves little time to scramble for appropriate supplies. My husband asked several times to be added to the email list and never was. My daughter was not there one day and I still got an online update telling me she ate "most" of her lunch. That being said, they get two stars for a few positives: + Their kindergarten "graduation" ceremony with caps/gowns was pretty adorable and definitely a highlight. + Online system allowed for auto-deduction of the weekly payments. + At signup they did indicate that the fifth week of enrollment is free. I understand there's adjustment to any new place and that we were only there for six weeks. The staff all seemed nice enough, but the overall experience just wasn't for us. read more

Our girls went to this school. Their teacher was a cold and unfriendly person. We spoke to other parents that had concerns about dropping off their kids. There were several instances where our children would come home injured and there was no explanation or report. Once the first management team abruptly left and a new management team was put in place - the new management team was clueless as to what was going on. They did not know how to manage or maintain relationships between the school/staff and the parents. Everything was disjointed. The straw that broke the camels back was when the my child, a four year old girl, was not permitted to use the bathroom. The teacher told her to "go ahead" as in urinate and soil your pants. She did because she couldn't hold it any longer. That same week we pulled the kids out of the school and we placed them in another Kindercare two miles away. This was several months ago and our child to this day has accidents during the day and wets the bed at night. She's almost five years old. We feel as though the actions of one irresponsible teacher has damaged our child. There's nothing more heartbreaking or anxiety ridden than dropping your children off at a childcare center and not knowing they are safe, loved and well taken care of. It takes just one teacher to make a difference in a child's life good or bad. We have removed our child from that school and that teacher several months ago but yet the actions of one teacher have scarred our child to this day. Potty issues for children this age create self esteem and self confidence issues. Those negative emotions manifest themselves in other negative behaviors. If you love your child, don't send them to this school. read more

Picked this place initially because of the proximity to our boys schools and transportation available to and from the schools. Prior to this we had a nanny for 6 years, so it was a significant adjustment for us. Older building and decor, classrooms a bit dated. But clean and well kept and they've done such a beautiful job of making it cheery with flowers. The staff couldn't be nicer. We love the Director Mr. Josh and AD Miss Bee. Our little guy's teacher Miss Marlene sometimes sends adorable pictures from his time in class. Our older guy is in Miss Megan's class before and after school and he's also adjusted well. We have been happy these past several months here and encourage you to take a tour. We've looked at probably every single freestanding daycare in the Herndon Reston area in the last 8 months. We have been pleasantly surprised with how well the kids have taken to the staff here. read more

Our daughter has been attending kindercare on soapstone since she was 4 months old, and since starting, she has blossomed into a social, well adjusted, bright baby. Due to her being born during a pandemic, we were concerned about the level of socialization about our daughter getting. We participated in a virtual tour which was facilitated by Ms. Bee and immediately felt comfortable and assured in our daughters safety. The facility is small, which is helpful to encourage a sense of community and family. Our daughter has been happy, safe and is hitting all of her milestones early! Kindercare has been amazing with their communication, and send daily pictures and videos of our daughter playing and interacting with others--which is very comforting to a first time mom. Ms. Bee and Ms. Jena are always there to greet us and communicate anything of note during the day. We love soapstone kindercare and recommend it to anyone looking! read more

I cannot day enough about this daycare. I adore it. My daughter is happy, healthy and thriving. When I chose a daycare I didn't base it on price - I based it on the quality of the new family there - the teachers and the directors. I looked at a lot of daycares to include Montessori, etc. and Soapstone Kinder cannot be beat even though no one can beat the price. Eula's primary teacher Miss Nicole is a gift to our family. Miss Jessica and Miss Sarah are also outstanding. Bee the Director made me feel at home from day one and she doesn't miss a thing. If you bring up a concern, it is immediately addressed. I can't say enough good things about this place! My child is in the infant class and I get so excited to see how much he is learning everyday! His wonderful teachers introduce him to new activities regularly and interact personally with every child. Teachers from other classes come in to see him too. I feel as though they love and care for him as much as I do! The director and assistant director are equally involved in his development and send me pictures almost daily which always bring a smile to my face! I know my child is safe and happy at this daycare! read more

So I have had my children here for almost 2 years! I thought the first director was okay (she wasn't here long) the second director I didn't care for and was about to take my children out! Then we got another director, and she works with the parents and knows all the children's names. Kelsey is on top of her game. She has made major improvements that were well past needed! If she hadn't of came to this center I was going to switch my children to another child care center out of the KinderCare family!!! read more

The best childcare providers in the area! There safe there cautious of the children of the best care or the children always have a good time. They learn different activities daily in order to develop a better grasp on education and self esteem and every time I go home with my children I know they had a great day. They provide a well balanced meals naptime for the younger children before and after school care and feel trips during the summer for older children. So if you're looking for a reasonable safe provider in the restaurant location this is the place to go to! read more
