As a former patient, I mean this whole heartedly, STAY AWAY FROM THIS FACILITY. This was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. You will be harassed and you will be publicly /group-home humiliated. They will call you from different numbers, even personal phones from different staff trying to get you back, this places is like herpes. You will be coaxed into this environment, seemingly it's a beautiful house.. until reality kicks in, you're going to be sedated with drugs from the moment you walk in, so good luck on this wild ride. You will be dosed with medications from some floozy doctor you meet with on an FACETIME call with no more than a 2 minute consultation, and administered controlled substances by employees, NOT medial staff, EMPLOYEES THAT COOK YOU DINNER and clean your toilets. Not to mention, you will be confined to a house, with extremely minimal physical activity, unhealthy meals... which the staff help themselves to first and don't have any sort of food allergies/restrictions, they'll forget! Don't fret they give you free unlimited cigarettes though! The amount of humiliation James, the director instills on patients, and the ex-cons and homeless people who are staffed there, is disgusting. Staff are extremely inappropriate and blur the lines of sexual misconduct. He preys on those who are mentally weak and physically pumped with lethal doses of a cocktail of drugs, and makes them fearful of him! He does not take the consideration of the patient into the best interest, the safety of another person or animals into consideration AT ALL. He will take any sort of level headed communication ie; your family or your case manager.. away from you. They advertise themselves as a pet friendly facility, I was forced to lock my cat in a cage for 30 days, and share my room with another individual who brought 2 cats, even after I had arrived FIRST and I specified this would be an issue. This individual was so unwell they were not able to care for them, and this suddenly became MY RESPONSIBILITY as to tend to feral cats for weeks who would fight with my ONE, she would let them shit and leave rotting food out, and I.. who am also there to get better am being put in this situation, and with no room switch, OR ABILITY TO SWITCH PROGRAMS. James' solution, "they'll fight.. they're cats". I PAID $100,000.00 TO BE MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY TORTURED WHILE DOSED 16 DIFFERENT lethal MEDICATIONS ? 3 cats in a 12x12 room where my animal was being ABUSED? The hot water would run out, so often you took cold showers. I was forced to take medical supervision over the patient I was sharing a room with instead of the facility taking her to the EMERGENCY ROOM for her inability to stay coherent or having an actual licensed nurse even within in the facility!! This meant, sleeping on the bed someone threw up on, defecated all over the bathroom you share, urinate themselves. THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL! THEY HAVE BETTER REFORM IN ACTUAL PRISON. They will allow you maybe 1 supervised phone call a week to your family for less than 10 minutes, you will be stripped of all your belongings, and freedoms, and you might even find heroin in the room you're assigned to. You will have zero access to technology besides the tv networks they allow, and by the limited fresh air you can experience, have fun watching tv for 30 days straight. You will have no ability to go outside alone. This is simultaneous to house arrest. Sober Partners is a TOXIC INHUMANE facility to try and become a better person or clean at all. Staff will share pictures of them drinking alcohol!! They also send you right out the door with a giant goodie bag of prescriptions, that you have to figure out how to ween off of... oh but your "30 day program" will be stretched out for however long James sees fit or you will be considered leaving against medical advice, ALL a scam to get more and more from your insurance, and then they will tell and charge you outrageous bills after your "fully covered treatment" promised by two staff members, Maria and Patrick. Don't worry they will harass you too!. Do justice and seek true medical attention, with REAL PSYCHIATRISTS, DOCTORS AND RNS. read more

This treatment facility is unethical. I was recently laid off. They think nothing about lying to the clients. I saw this on a daily basis. They practically force clients to stay. They use as much of their insurance as possible and send them on their way. They do not include the client in the process of discharge. The director of the program is an extreme micro manager. I knew after a week of working there I had made a mistake. They also have a case manager who has been there a while who is shady. He too lies to the clients. Had it not been for this center I have no idea where my son would be today. This place literally saved his life. The staff is amazing and they take such pride in what they do and they strive to give you the best care that they can. It's a shame that some reviews, especially those which are blatantly untrue, are even allowed to be posted. I have worked in a number of treatment centers, and am familiar with almost all facets of the industry. I know how most facilities operate, I know specific corners that are cut by 9 out of 10 providers, and i know that nearly all owners get to a point where the financial viability comes before patient care. Scott, the owner of sober partners, is not one of those people. He runs a by the book operation and he actually follows the strict California laws concerning client placement with extreme vigilance. I know first hand very few owners abide by or follow these laws. I recently was able to see first hand and assess sober partners operation, and the previous reviewer is flat out speaking untruth. First, the facilities are most certainly licensed. A quick check of the California department of health list for licensed facilities will show the mens and women's residential and detox facilities are individually licensed, as well as the outpatient facility. Sober living houses, which Scott is gracious enough to provide, are not licensed by law in the state of California. Most facilities will run someone through detox, get as many residential days as possible, and kick the client to the curb. Sober partners provides them with every level of care, including sober living when they are at the outpatient level. He doesn't make concessions like allowing couples to room together, which can be a good selling point, but has been consistently shown to be detrimental to recovery. I don't know if the one negative review was another rehab, or just an individual with a personal vendetta, but the information they stated is simply not true. if i could give this place less then one star i would. they have BED BUGS, so i'd run in another direction, the nurses were nice and considerate but one staff member in particular, James, was very unhelpful and disrespectful. going as far as to say untruthful things about my boyfriend. he was rude and had a very unmannered tone to his voice. i would not recommend this place to anyone, the mental health team put together was insignificant and if anything was more harmful. my boyfriend then left to find a cleaner, superbly managed, NOT bed bug ridden SLE (sober living environment). if you're considering going here i'd think again, look for better help id suggest a treatment center with more mental health advocacy, more structure, and screens on the windows so the mosquitos can't get in??? Sober Partners is a wonderful place for treatment. I got sober and learned the tools for continued success in recovery from these great people. Accomodatoons are pretty damn nice and 3 catered meals a day. We even got some input as to menu. The groups are great from yoga, sound bowls, and 12 step program learning. Can't say enough good about the place and people. They really care and want to help. I can't wait to go visit and thank these people!!! The staff here are great. read more
