Not bad. I like that they have a variety of bases, and that we get to ask for flavor samples. I tried the green base and spirulina base. The spirulina base was a bit sweeter from the pineapple blended in. The green base tasted pretty plain compared to the spirulina. I ended up getting the green one though. The texture was like finely crushed ice. The fruits were all ripe and sweet, and the granola had a cinnamon apple taste. They layer the granola on the bottom of the cup, supposedly to prevent the acai from melting too quickly. I was so happy to find a SoBol near my home! It was very neat and really cutely decorated. I stopped by after my gym session and was super happy with the different bowl and smoothie options. You can also build your own bowl if you want something that's not on the menu. It was literally just opening for the day when I went so it was pretty quiet. The gentleman helping me was very friendly and got my order ready quickly. I opted for a large Pitaya bowl ($11.25), which was so good! The fruits were fresh and delicious, and the Pitaya was the perfect consistency. The bowl was packed so you definitely get the best bang for your buck. It left me feeling really re-energized and healthy after working out. I really needed a green juice during my trip to NY and found this place on Yelp. The SUPER GREEN SMOOTHIE mostly disappointed me. It was ultra sweet my pancreas cried a little. I am not sure if it was the amount OR brand of agave but it was way too much fructose. It was also not well blended and a bit too thick (not from ice). It set me back $8.50 or so and it took a solid 10 minutes to get the drink (Someone else's smoothie came first and they even order after me). Walking through a street fair in New Hyde Park during a hot weekend, we dropped into SoBol for a healthy refreshing drink and the A/C. SoBol is one of my favorite spots to get açaí from! They offer bowls (açaí, pitaya, green bowl which has spinach, sunshine which has mango, pineapple and banana) and smoothies. I enjoy getting their açaí bowls which are always made quick placed into a container with granola at the top and bottom. Then it's topped off with fresh fruits. I always feel refreshed after eating their bowls. They give a lot of granola and a good amount of fruit as well. I actually would prefer more açaí. They also offer additional toppings such as different fruits, PB/almond butter/cookie butter, chia seeds, hemp seeds, etc. for $2 extra per additional topping, which is kind of pricey since they don't add a lot either. I've also had instances where the frozen fruit in the açaí base wasn't fully blended, which isn't a big deal. I also enjoy their granola which has almonds and cashews (but you can request their nut free option as well). Overall, I do enjoy these açaí bowls. So many SoBols, so little time. Seriously, SoBols have been popping up all over the island. They're turning into Starbucks! (Okay, nothing can reach that level). But I do like the fact that there's some açaí available in so many spots, especially this New Hyde Park location. There's really nothing not to like about it....actually, maybe I love it. I do love the beachy ambiance with a real feeling of local island notes. It's small, but cozy and has some awesome lighting I can't help but to mention. Might I add the Sail Away nitro cold brew taps that scream tastiness? A bonus to the bowls. I love how friendly the employees (usually) are. I mean they're not always beaming with sunshine, but almost every experience has boded well to a positive human encounter. My most recent trip a week (or so) ago ended in a lovely exchange with the staff member who made sure I had everything I needed before I left. Memorable service for sure. And of course, I love the açaí bowls themselves. Yeah, it's true that you can get one of these fruit filled foods at plenty of other places, but I'm finding Sobol to be pretty consistent with their quality. The ingredients always seem ripe and fresh while their peanut butter is the key to make every açaí bowl extraordinary (well, except for those who have a nut allergy). Price-wise, things jive with just about any other açaí-selling spot so I can't say anything negative about the cost. Overall, I'll just say SoBol is a love of mine that I'm glad I can devour at a NHP storefront not too far from my abode. With proximity, ambiance, and bowls that are totally super (Super Bowl joke, for the day), you won't see me complaining about the abundance of SoBols. Awesome spot so close to home! Staff is really friendly, fast and efficient and the prices are actually not terrible but wish the containers were a bit wider. Their Açai base texturally felt like it was more thick frozen custard like than a frozen fruit slush, which I loved. Fruit on top was very fresh and the granola and honey were a nice touch as well. The kid size portion was the prefect size for me and the added flax seeds I paid for extra made it a filling meal. Between ordering our bowls and receiving them to go to literally 4 minutes. Not sure why some places charge such outrageous price for their goods!! Let's start with interior decor which is pretty especially the cool wall decor. Employees are very friendly and attentive. My biggest disappointment is the prices for their bowls. Great concept as it's healthy and best for breakfast or snack. Not sure about anyone else but I personally don't have $9.40 to spend everyday (well even if I did I still won't spend it everyday or even frequently). The bowls are served in 3 different sizes: kids, regular ($9.40), and super ($14). The original açaí bowls have two layers of granola, blended açaí, strawberries, banana, blueberries, sprinkles of coconut and honey. This was my first time trying the regular açaí bowl but I did regret the price as those items purchased in bulk doesn't cost as much. But worth trying once!! read more

I have been a Sobol customer for years, ordering 2-3 bowls a week. New Hyde park location is hands down THE WORST location I have ever been too. It is run by teens without any adult supervision. I tried called repeatedly to speak to the manager about the refund that I was assured had been issued, but never showed up on my card. The manager is NEVER there, doesn't return the phone calls and teens are rude and the last one I spoke to hung up on me. Absolutely unacceptable!!! Huge fan of Sobol NHP! So happy one of these opened in my town. The owner Dianne and her husband are so kind and always welcome customers with a warm smile. Parking can be kind of tricky. Either you get lucky parking on Jericho or just park on either of the side streets before or after the store but pay attention to signs and what sides of the road you can park during the day! A regular bowl will run you $7.90 which includes: granola, açaí, granola, strawberries blueberries banana honey and coconut. There are options to add peanut butter / cookie butter and other fruit for additional charges. There are options for kid sizes and large. Smoothies also available at this location. I've had the very berry smoothie and would recommend. I am a huge fan of their granola. Kind of expensive but it is homemade. I have bought a medium container for $5/6 bucks. Would highly recommend sobol NHP! I love this establishment and I am a frequent flyer. I just wish they had a rewards program! read more

This is one of my fave local joints! I had never had an açaí bowl before coming here, and now it's become a staple breakfast order for our house!! While they do have classic options like a regular açaí bowl, they also have some fab twists like the sunshine bowl (pineapple and mango), the pitaya bowl (dragon fruit), and a green version (I believe has spinach or kale!). I've had all of the above except for the green bowl and can only rave about how fantastic all the elements of the bowls are! They offer other options such as smoothies, and other quick bites, as well as sell their granola (which is absolutely delish!). My two faves would be the sunshine bowl and the pitaya bowl for the ~tropical~ vibes! I typically get my orders to go but they do have a nice sitting area, which has been reduced due to covid. Only downside to if you wanted to dine in is that there's no restroom available :( but usually this place is a quick bite type of place and not a cafe type, so I don't foresee that being an issue! The service I received today while visiting this location with my sister and my 3 year old son was very disappointing. I've never been rushed to order with there being no line. Each item I ordered the young lady behind the counter would say "ok" (with attitude). I understand people have bad days, but as a young adult (the young lady) you have to learn you cannot bring your bad attitude to work with you. The manager of this location needs to have a serious conversation with her or she will run the customers away. I did see that I was the only customer that she treated this way and I am a black African American female whom is also is a first responder (which the young lady was aware of). My friends and I all got Acai bowls which were pretty good. Their acai base wasnt my favorite it didnt have a ton of flavor. However my friend enjoyed it so it might be a matter of preference. Let me start off by saying that I actually like their açaí bowls which is the reason I keep going back. That being said the service is the worst. The children they have working there are so disrespectful and unmotivated, it's disheartening. The last few times I've gone there's been missing things to my order and when I bring to their attention they get nasty and are rude, as if I'm too stupid to realize that what I paid for isn't there. That's messed up, it's not like it's cheap. I went there today and I got 4 blueberries in my entire bowl, and a small amount of coconut. When I called them out about missing something that I was supposed to get since they missed it last time, the kid got nasty with me and started arguing. When I told him that I watched him not put it in my bowl he grabbed it out of my hands and added a small amount right. At least I got it this time.
