This is another great option for quick but healthy food. Bango Bowls is a fast casual joint that has a surprisingly substantial menu. They offer bowls (grain, poke, and salad), acai, smoothies, toasts, Flaninis (pressed flatbread), oatmeal and drinks. Their newest location recently opened in New Hyde Park. We were in the neighborhood and decided to try them out this past weekend. We got: Bango Bowl with acai base, strawberries, bananas, granola, coconut, and drizzle of honey. I loved the granola oats used here at Bango Bowls. It was crispy, and light with a tinge of sweetness. The acai base was refreshing, and slightly tangy. Protein Toast on multigrain bread, mashed avocadoes, slices of hard-boiled egg and everything seasoning. This was my favorite dish from what we ordered. I thought the multigrain toast was delicious and went very well with the Everything seasoning that was sprinkled on top. We also ordered a Poke Bowl which was presented very nicely. I liked the time and care they took with making it look lovely. We got the Poke Bowl with white rice base, chopped romaine, marinated raw salmon, crispy onions, seaweed salad, edamame, cucumbers, and corn. We asked for a couple of dressings on the side (Balsamic vinaigrette and Lemon Basil Ranch) so I wasn't expecting to have them also put soy sauce dressing all over the poke bowl. I kind of wished they just gave it to us plain without any dressing as I didn't care too much for the soy sauce dressing. They put way too much and made the bowl too salty. Other than that, all of the ingredients tasted fresh, and the bowl was very filling. While I probably wouldn't go out of my way to revisit, I would still recommend you give them a try if you are in the neighborhood. The staff is lovely, the food is fresh and made to order, not to mention healthy.

Pretty new in the area, took over the old E fresh on Union. It's a pretty space with about two tables for seating. I went during lunch hour and they had a few people on the line. Although the name makes it seem like all they offer is acai bowls, they also offer savory options such as flat bread paninis and poke bowls. I got the dragon bowl in their 16oz size which was about $10. It was pretty filling and a good mix of granola, fruit, and base. The only thing I would've liked more of is the base. It looks like I had a lot but biting into the mix, I felt like I got a whole lot of granola. But regardless, overall it was yummy and I would come back to try more things

I was so excited to have my poke bowl with a side of a yummy bubble tea…read more The poke still bomb, fresh and a great portion. They have pre made bowls or you can build your own which is my fav! The place clean and cute and of course, packed and full of life. The staff upbeat and friendly which is what we love! Unfortunately I had to give them one less star for this rating (compared to my previous 5 star) because their bubble tea changed, not only their packaging but their quality. The cup felt flimsy, like if you squeeze too hard might pop the cover off, no big deal if the actual drink is great, then you bypass this BUT unfortunately this has to be one of the saddest bubble tea drinks I've had in a while. The drink was warm!!! Ugh, the ice was added last so therefore it melted immediately and so by the time it got to me, warm... I'm like ok I can add ice at home lol .. I had the mango and my boyfriend the peach. Both flavors were good, but both warm with ice is just not the same. We had it with tapioca bubbles and mango/peach popping boba. The popping boba was good but the tapioca pearls were SOOO HARD and a weird orange see through color so either they weren't ready or they were old! They were so hard they kept clogging our straw and couldn't sip our drink... everything about it was just a disappointment, I was so sad because I've been going there for years and I've loved their bubble tea and never had that problem! Anyway, go for food, skip their bubble tea.

I chose the Build Your Bowl option, combining cooked salmon with a variety of fresh mix-ins and sauces. I also ordered the pork dumplings and a miso soup. Everything came out fresh, hot where it needed to be, and beautifully presented. The cooked salmon was tender and flavorful. It had a clean, mild taste that didn't over power the fresh ingredients in the bowl. The bowl was colorful and vibrant with crisp vegetables, good texture contrast, and generous portions. The pork dumplings were hot and steamed with just the right amount of filling and wrapper, juicy without being soggy. The miso soup was comforting, savory and gently salted (that's a plus for me) with seaweed and tofu. May took her time to walk me through the toppings, flavor combinations, and sauce options. She was patient with my questions and gave thoughtful recommendations. The pace was relaxed so I never felt rushed. The interior is casual and clean with some seating if you would like to dine in, though many people also order takeout. The personal touch really elevated the experience and knowing the owner is hands on helps create a welcoming vibe. For what you get, the quality of the ingredients, the ability to customize, and the extra touches, the prices felt fair. Portions were generous, particularly for the bowl. Poke Frisee is a gem in Rockville Centre. It strikes a lovely balance between quality poke bowls and friendly individualized service. The fact that May herself takes the time to guide customers and make thoughtful recommendations is a big plus. I was very happy with my bowl, pork dumplings, and miso soup. It felt thoughtful, satisfying and fresh. If you are craving a custom poke experience especially if you prefer cooked proteins this is absolutely a place to try. I will definitely return both for the food and the warmth of the service.
