SoCa Day Spa is my go to when I am in need for a great massage! I have been coming here for years and have received massages, facials, and body scrubs. The prices are very reasonable. The employees are always lovely and do there best to fit in last minute bookings like myself. When you arrive, you are greeted and provided a robe and slippers. There are changing rooms in the bathroom and lockers with keys to safely secure your things. After, you will be directed to a waiting room and provided with a warm neck wrap, water, and snacks. I ALWAYS try and book with Jennifer. She is no short of a miracle worker! She will ask what area you want to focus on and make sure you are relaxing and enjoying the entire time. She adds stretching to the massage which makes it unique and will work on your sore and problem areas. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself with a spa service! And ask for Jennifer!

A fabulous day spa tucked in a shopping plaza in North Charleston. The website is a great resource plus I like how you can set up an appointment online with the menu that includes descriptions of each treatment. SoCa does waxing, tinting, sugaring, skincare treatments, body scrubs, massages, and spray tanning. Upon walking in, I was greeted and offered a robe and sandals plus a locker to place my items. The front area waiting room is well lit and has ample seating. After a few minutes, it was time to begin the sessions. I went in for the Belles + Whistles (90 mins long) and back scrub (45 mins). Both felt incredibly relaxing, almost fell asleep after each session. Between the two sessions, I waited momentarily in the back waiting area which felt more zen with the dimmer lights, flowing water, and coffee/tea options you can make yourself. My esthetician also provided some delicious chocolates which I appreciated. I meant to point out to the front staff, but was blissed out: some locks don't work so be mindful of that when given a locker. Other than that, had the best time! Great spot to treat yourself to a facial and "me" time.

I was in need of a facial so I decided to try SoCa. This spa was a lot closer to my house than the one I usually go to so I booked it after seeing great reviews online. I booked it about a week in advance. I booked the 60 minute organic facial. It is nice and clean inside with a comfortable waiting room. They have water and a tray of snacks to choose from. I have had many facials before and I must say I was a bit disappointed in the service I received. I was in the waiting room for 15 minutes into my booked time. I thought they would make this up in the end, but they still finished at the hour mark. I wrote that I had a specific allergy to nitrile gloves and that was all that they carry, so the employee ended up wearing no gloves at all. The girl took a lot of time trying to see if they had other gloves, which I guess they don't prepare for even if they see it in your notes? I also listed that I had two other ingredient allergies. When she went to get my face products, it took another 10-15 minutes for her to look. She apologized and said that it was because she looked at all the ingredients. I was given four different masks which I found odd, as most places only give you one during your treatment. I have also had a light massage given on arms and/or legs with a facial at other spas. This was not part of the facial here. For $80 I was given 4 masks and about 30-35 minutes of facial time. All in all I did not think it was worth it. Also, I had to ask the employee if she thought I had any issues with my face rather than her offering advice at the end. I wouldn't recommend it if you're used to better service.

Bad customer service. Walked in and was ignored. I had to greet the owner and the other staff member before I was acknowledged. Once I did get changed for my massage I ended up waiting for another ten minutes because according to the masseuse no one told her I was there. I will not be returning. I've visited other spas and the customer service is far superior.

I stopped into Soca Day Spa a few Saturday's ago and had a 30 minute massage with Jennifer H. I have been dying for a relaxing massage, but didn't want to "treat myself". Well I was finally convinced after digging through my email and seeing a 10% off coupon. I had previously only been to Soca for a spray tan (for my wedding, which they did an amazing job at). I arrived a few minutes early. Checked in. Was shown to a locker room where I changed into a robe and some slippers. Relaxed in the waiting area, with calm music and hot neck cloth. The massage therapist was a little late, but I didn't care because I wanted to spend all day there if I could. The massage began. She was very gentle. Massaged my arms, legs, back, neck, EVERYTHING. She used some light coconut oil. The whole experience was just what I needed. Very, very relaxing. I am definitely looking forward to that next 10% off coupon and booking another appointment! (I think those coupons are a sign that I need to relax and treat myself!)

This is the place to come for rest and relaxation. The staff is great and the location is so serene. Just imagine an hour of a true relaxation of your body being massaged and stretched followed my more R&R with champagne.

We feared we might be turned away. Instead, the young lady at the counter was incredibly helpful, locating them online and saving us another trip. That simple act of customer service was greatly appreciated! The whole space is warm and inviting, aesthetically pleasing and relaxing, from the brick building to the interior design and room decor. There are a variety of rooms to accommodate the many different experiences you can take part in: a large salt "cave," float tank room (with a shower), red light therapy room, large waiting area, and more. There are so many thoughtful touches - it is obvious that the owners took the time to consider everything a guest might need or want: changing rooms with hair dryers, make up wipes, eye covers, q-tips, ear plugs, shampoo and body wash in the showers, robes...the list goes on. There is even complimentary tea in the reception area. We felt so spoiled and so relaxed that we wished we could have stayed all day! I simply can't speak highly enough of this wellness spa and will most definitely be returning.

I then received a message from the spa stating: "Unfortunately, the professional assigned to your services will be unavailable that day, so we will need to reschedule the appointments. We would be happy to move your services to either the week before or the week after..." I understand that scheduling issues happen. However, I explained that I could only reschedule for Monday or Thursday of that same week and requested the same Local Special rate, or potentially a weekend at the same rate due to my work schedule. Since this was booked in advance and the change was on their end, I asked if they would honor the Local Special pricing on another day that aligns with my schedule. I was told no. There was no effort to accommodate, no compromise offered, and no flexibility despite the inconvenience being caused by their scheduling conflict. For a spa associated with guests and visitors of the Francis Marion Hotel, I expected a much higher level of customer service and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience felt dismissive and inflexible. They simply said no and cancelled my appointments. I have primarily used sugaring for my hair removal services because I have found it more comfortable to go through when compared to the use of hot wax. I have stayed with Christina for so many years because she is so attentive during the sessions, as well as very thorough. I have seen her grow her studio from a tiny space with few retail offerings to a larger spa-like atmosphere offering a variety of services in addition to just sugaring. The studio is exceptionally clean, and Christina has always been very conscious of this aspect, particularly around the pandemic restrictions we all operated under for several years. Christina and her staff are very present to clients and strive to offer extras - flavored waters, hot teas, cups of snacks, soft lighting and music - that make each visit seem like a small spa escape. They make sure clients are aware of recommendations for post-sugaring care and offer products from their own stock for purchase. All the products carried at the studio are high quality, all natural products that Christina and her staff have used and can confidently recommend. So when we spotted this place while driving to one of the plantation tours we crossed our fingers for an appointment, and called to see if they had any availability for later that day. Given we would be on the tour, I left a message and asked if they could text me. They did! And they even pushed back our appt when I realized we would be late! GREAT. Amazing service!! When I went in for the appointment I told the therapist, Ricardo, that I didn't want to remove my clothes. (It was a 30min appt, I was feeling a little cold coming on, I was in a new place with a male therapist, .... I just didn't want to take off my clothes) I explained that basically I wanted a chair massage, but didn't want to sit in the chair for 30min. So-- do whatever, I'm not picky! I was in a short, sleeveless dress. Plenty of skin to get at. And pressure can be applied with clothes on.Therapists do this in malls /all/ the time... Ricardo got confrontational and made me feel so shamed. He asked "well what am I supposed to do?" He laughed at me. I explained, "again, a chair massage but laying down." Again he laughed in a really condescending way. "So basically you just want a chair massage." "Yes" "Well, I don't think you really know what you want. I don't know how to tell you what you want... Have you ever even HAD a massage?!" After about 5min of this exchange I realized I was being bullied, which was SO WEIRD and inappropriate. Never experienced anything like it. I just told him he could work on my husband first, and my husband should be able to explain how to give a massage with clothes on better than I can. After I sat in the living room I realized how humiliated I felt, and how RIDICULOUS it is that you should be bullied into taking off your clothes. He's supposedly a professional, I'm paying- end of story! I didn't want his creepy hands on me so we left. My husband hadn't realized what went on and was furious to find out when I told him. He told me anyway that Ricardo wasn't that good, and also he had a lot of arm hair which felt weird. So, I'm sure this place is great. Just don't see Ricardo if you expect to be treated with respect or have a professional exchange. Tip on location: I was worried we were going into the wrong place-- it's in the chiropractor office that looks like a house. Also, since it is a small, old house, sound travels, and the floor is creaky. Adds some charm, but if it's just you and 1 therapist after hours you might feel a little self-conscious. Super cute kids art on the walls. PS on their website it says that Ricardo "worked in the mental health field for twelve years, and this background shows through in his deep compassion and empathy for each of his clients." WUHHHH.

First- trying to make an appointment is impossible. Nobody ever answers, even though their website (and a response to an email) said that someone is there during certain hours to schedule. I ended up booking via email, but I didn't feel comfortable giving my credit card information that way. I told them I'd call and when I finally got through to someone, they had given up my spot because I didn't contact them in time... even though I constantly tried AND told them via email I couldn't get a hold of them. If you are using a Groupon, which I was, you have to give them the code off of it as well- so make sure you have that available or they won't book you. Second- the location is not well marked. The view on Google Maps and on their website is from the side. A view I didn't see from the street. I passed it three times before realizing which one it was. The driveway is tiny and there are only a few parking spots behind the building. It was a tight squeeze. Third- the inside is odd. You go in, up some stairs and are in a tiny foyer. They have some chairs and a desk set up. I didn't mind, however I felt cramped when it was me, the lady checking me in, another employee and a customer trying to check out. I felt like I was in the way, even though I was sitting in a chair. The room I was in for my massage was so bright and loud. They have a window facing Savannah Highway, so I constantly heard cars, trucks, horns, squealing, etc. The blinds didn't keep out the light and they didn't close the curtains. I was also very cold in that room. Fourth- Okay, the massage. It was absolutely amazing. The pressure was perfect and she checked in to make sure I was doing okay. I did not like her talking to me so much (not asking about the pressure, but about a lot of different random things) as this was my time to relax and zen out. While I did enjoy the massage, I don't think I'll be back. I am thankful for the opportunity to try it but it just wasn't a good fit for me.

She was warm, friendly and very caring. She asked me to fill out a form about my medical history, concerns and goals for the session. I then spoke with her briefly about what kind of massage I was looking for and she was HAPPY to help. It turns out her specialty is medical massage therapy so she was a great fit for my needs (pinched nerves and minor damage from a car accident a few years ago). She explained everything she was doing and checked throughout the session to make sure the pressure was okay. I left feeling like a new person. Yes, cliche, but entirely true.
