Hand-poured, soy candles from J & S MakeScents. Wonderful scents and very nice packaging, too!

Super cool to be able to support local vendors by having this SoCal Etsy Guild in a storefront in the Shops at Mission Viejo. I have been a fan of etsy artisans who sell their homemade goods on the website, but to now be able to see vendors with their wares in person at this local mall is ideal. This shop is open only Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with vendor booths selling clothing, jewelry, candles, bath products, hairbows, hairbands and small purses. Recently, when I did a quick stop in, I visited La Meno and saw some beautiful jewelry pieces. Some lovely earring, bracelets and necklaces at this vendor table. I talked to one of the owners of J&S Makes Scents about her hand-poured soy candles and learned a lot about burning candles properly and evenly. I purchased a fragrant peach candle here for a gift for a friend, and it was beautifully gift wrapped for free here for me which was a definite plus. Lastly, I stopped by Bella Treasures where there were the cutest hairbows, hairbands, children's clothes, little handmade purses. I purchased the cutest unicorn purse/cell phone holder that had a zipper portion on top that acts as a change purse and a pocket in the back, too. This is a great place to look around and buy some great items for yourself or for gifts. Glad the SoCal Etsy Guild has come to the Shops at Mission VIejo, so I can visit often to see the new vendors and their goods and support local business while I am at it.

An Etsy shop! Wow! So you don't actually have to be on Etsy to sell here...some of the venders sell just through their websites and they all seem to be on Instagram. They only sell here on weekends...Friday, Saturday & Sunday. I got a couple of great items! Organic jeweler selling so cal coral rings...had to get one of those! And lots of venders were selling lava bead & necklaces...I also got one of those. You can actually put essential oils right on them...which I will be doing:D The sellers change up from time to time. One of them mentioned that she'll only be there 'til August. And some of their items are a bit cheaper than their online store prices...not including the saving on shipping & handling & tax. The price tag here is their total purchase price. And they all take cash & card with square. Everyone finally realized that people don't cary cash anymore:P

I feel compelled to share the worst experience I have ever had in any store -- and heartbreakingly,…read moreit happened in a place I thought would be compassionate and respectful. A few months ago, after my husband and I tragically lost our son, he purchased a gold Saint Michael necklace for me from this store as a memorial gift. We also bought one for my father-in-law. Both necklaces tarnished, turning our skin green, even though we were reassured at the time of purchase that they would not. Because of the meaning behind this gift, I wanted to do the right thing and bring it back to see if the store could help. When I explained the situation calmly and respectfully, the blonde woman working there immediately became irritated. She told me she could only exchange for another one, or I pay more money to upgrade the chain -- one that was gold-filled instead of plated. I explained that we had already spent so much and could not afford to spend more, especially since we had been given incorrect information when we purchased it. I asked if a manager or owner might reconsider, given the situation. Instead of showing even the slightest compassion, she escalated. I called my husband- as he was the one that purchased it. She took the phone and he explained to her that when he was buying the necklace, someone told him it would not tarnish. They exchanged a sentence or two, she again immediately became even more agitated and rude and put my phone down saying she would not speak to him. Her tone became harsh, then aggressive. She began raising her voice, repeatedly cutting me off, and flatly telling me "that's the policy, we don't do refunds" with no willingness to even hear me out further. I tried to explain again that I wasn't asking for special treatment, only fairness, since we were misled. At that point, she started yelling at me, telling me she had already explained herself, and shockingly -- she threatened to call the police on me and kicked me out of the store. It was awful, odd, and honestly just the most bizarre experience I've ever had. Never in my life have I been treated with such hostility, especially when I remained calm, polite, and respectful the entire time. I even told her that I was pregnant again and that this situation was incredibly stressful for me, and she could not have cared less. Instead, she was threatening, dismissive, and completely devoid of compassion. For a store that sells religious items, this kind of treatment is appalling. This necklace was not just jewelry to me -- it was a memorial to my son. To be treated so coldly and aggressively while trying to resolve something so important was deeply painful and unforgettable in the worst way. I just bawled when I left - shocked and just honestly dumbfounded. This was the most unprofessional and cruel customer service experience I have ever encountered, and I would never recommend this store to anyone. I am only giving one star as leaving no stars is not even an option.

My daughter miscarried a couple of months ago. Her husband went to this store and bought two medals…read morein honor of this lost child. The medals were gold filled. The chains were not. He asked if they would turn color. He was told they would not. They do not live in this area, but were here for an appt when they found out they had lost the baby. My daughter was back today and tried to return this and just called me in tears. She was just trying to exchange or return this. The gal that claimed to be the manager said they did not do returns. So my daughter called her husband and asked what they would like to do. The claimed manager became very rude. My son-in-law wanted to speak to to understand the exchange as he was told this would not happen. The manager became even more rude. Put the phone down and told my daughter she had explained her options twice. My daughter asked why she was being so rude why she was treating her that way. Then my daughter, said ok, she would just exchange it. Then the manager said she couldn't exchange it. She could just leave the store and threatened to call the police. My daughter explained she was pregnant again. The reason she came in the store originally was because of a bad experience and now she was pregnant and enduring a horrible experience at a religious store?? I will never shop at the store again. I will share with my church and my community to never shop at this store. Doesn't matter what your store policies are. The treatment of people speaks volumes. How they're associated with Christian faith I will never be convinced. Shame on you

I cannot believe I haven't written a review for Nuggets and Carats! My family has been long time…read morecustomers of N&C since around 1993 and possibly before (my mom married my stepdad in '93 so that's when I have become familiar with them). I used to be a milspouse and while we lived in CO l had a horrific experience with a jewelry repair. All I needed was a watch battery replaced but two jewelry stores stripped the screws on the back of the watch! The one jewelry store kept telling me week after week that the screws needed this lubricant to help them unscrew. After 4+ weeks of this nonsense l finally told them to give me the watch back, we were done. I found that they were unable to get any screws out because all 4 were still in when l received it back (a lie from them saying they were waiting on the last 1-2 to unlock). I ended up visiting my family in CA and Brian and his wonderful jewelers not only had it fixed in less than a week, they also gave it a thorough look over and put in new screws that work better than the originals that came with it. I also had an antique platinum setting that l bought to use as my wedding ring except the middle diamond in the original setting was really small. I had a larger one to have set into it and there is NO ONE else l would trust with that! They did a beautiful job and you'd never know it wasn't original to the ring. It looks like it was meant to be that way. A secretary at my kiddos' school was telling me about her ring that so many jewelers couldn't fix. I recommended her to this shop. Although she went to their Mission Viejo location instead, she said she was thrilled that they were finally able to fix her ring when so many others said it couldn't be done. Currently, my late dad's Rolex is being checked by their watch person. My mom and stepdad have both gone through their watch person as well and have had no complaints. I think the best thing is the relief l feel when dropping my jewelry off here. I know that it will be in the best care and get the fix it needs. Brian stands by his work and l can say that from an issue (that would have happened when repairing it anywhere) that happened and Brian has more than made it right in the very rare situation that has happened. Brian's expertise and integrity is unmatched. I trust him implicitly and only come here for any repairs l need done. They are kind, professional, and knowledgeable.
