    Out to lunch!

I wanted to wait a couple of months before I wrote this review. I wanted to see if my Standard Poodle, Momo, would be good after her surgery. Momo wasn't eating for a few days and constantly had diarrhea. I just knew it wasn't right. I had a feeling may have been bowel obstruction. Momo eats everything and chews everything! Typically, she'll pass whatever she ate, socks, rubber balls, and random toys through her poop, but this time she didn't like she did 10 or 15 times before. I took Momo to my vet in Temecula. She said I had to do an x-ray first. That was 400$! The vet came back and confirmed Momo indeed has bowel obstruction. I asked the costs of this surgery and she said it would be over 5500$. I told her I can't afford that. I told my vet I'll have to put Momo down. All my vet said was "im sorry". I asked her is there any way she can work on the price for me so we don't have to put her down. She said to me, "Unfortunately, that's the price". I was sooooo disgusted bc honestly, vets don't give a care about the animals. They couldn't even lower the price by 400$ or 500$ just so the animal can live. I've probably spent about 20k on my dogs before ive learned about and purchased insurance. I've gotten to realize these vets really dont care about your dog. I've had my fair share of over-priced surgeries with unnecessary things like charging for clipping nails and extra care or food that I could have bought myself for way cheaper. I just got Momo for free as a rescue and had her for 4 months only. She's a beautiful pure bred Poodle and she was FREE!! Plus, I couldn't stand seeing her at the farm not being taken care of and having the worst matte and foxtails in her hair that I've ever seen. It didn't occur to me to get insurance for her. This vet finally came back and suggested she can call around and ask if some other places or hospital can do the surgery now and for cheaper. SoCal Pet Hospital in Murrieta was willing to do the surgery ASAP and for only 4200$. I was OK with that! This further confirmed my vet is awful! Bottom line, if it was 5500$ or 4000$ I would have paid it bc its MY dog and I'll do anything for my dog. God knows I've spent way more than that on other things and my kids. Life is just one big expense! I really just wanted to see and know if MY vet was willing to help me with the costs so Momo can live, but as expected, my vet did NOT. I took Momo to SoCal Pet Hospital and I just had to fill out some forms and they took her in. They didn't have to do an X-Ray bc I already did one with My EX Vet. Momo's surgeon was Dr. Quing. He first met with me explaining everything with the process of the surgery and then the costs. He told me step by step of what he needed to do and how the surgery works. He then reassured me, the costs is 4200$ nothing more and maybe a little less. They took Momo in and I was able to go home. They called me later to tell me that her surgery was done at 9pm and it took about 45m. Not very long at all. Momo had to stay over night and that would mean more costs, but since Dr. Quing said no more than 4200, he just let Momo stay over night with no charge. That was very nice of him. Momo was greatly cared for and they fed her and gave her - her first doses of medicines and antibiotics. The next day they called me to pick her up. Momo looked soooo much happier and rambunctious like her old self. They gave me a bag of food, meds, and care instructions. The Doctor asked if I wanted to see what the obstruction was. They said it was some kind of blue ball. It was really unfortunate that when Momo ate this toy, she jumped and played in a way where she tangled her bowels, so she was not able to pass out the ball. Funny now, but not then, those rubber balls I bought for 5$ at Walmart for Tomi and Nori ended up costing me 4600$ which makes Momo not free after all. Lmao! In 2 weeks I came back to see Dr Quing for the post check up. He said Momo looked fantastic! Momo even gained 7lbs! Its been 3 or 4 months now and Momo is still doing great! I ended up changing all of my dogs vet to this place! Tomi and Nori got a check up here and I updated my pet insurance to include Momo! I was really happy with the service and how this vet was willing to work with me on costs. I love my pets as I love my family, in fact they ARE my family so whether it was 10k or 1k, I would have paid any amount. I just don't like feeling I've been taken advantage of. I felt SoCal Pet Hospital was honest, helpful, and really cared about my pets. Momo has ins now but let's not hope any of my babies get hurt!

All I needed was eye oil

GO TO ANOTHER VET!! I've been bringing my two pets to this vet since they moved to Murrieta in 2022 and have never had an issue--until today. This was my first interaction with Dr. Dave Quing, and unfortunately, it was extremely disappointing. He came off as arrogant and dismissive from the moment he entered the room. I brought in my 12-year-old English Bulldog for her annual check-up and to get a refill on her eye oil. The front office informed me that an office visit ($50) was required for the refill. Fair enough, I scheduled the appointment and paid for the visit. During the exam, Dr. Quing insisted on running bloodwork. I explained that my dog is not experiencing any health issues, so I didn't see the need. His only justification was, "It's protocol." Since when is bloodwork required to refill eye drops? I declined the $265 bloodwork because I didn't want to stress my senior dog with unnecessary tests, especially when she's healthy and doing incredibly well for her age. Then, without further discussion, he walked out, and his vet tech returned with a letter stating that my dog "needed medical treatment" and that if her condition declined, they would consider calling animal services. All because I wouldn't agree to optional bloodwork? That felt like a threat and completely unprofessional. This experience felt more like a money grab than a medical visit. My dog has outlived her breed's average lifespan by four years--she's happy, thriving, and well cared for. I'm shocked and disappointed by the lack of compassion and integrity shown by this vet. If you want a veterinarian who listens and treats both you and your pet with respect, look elsewhere.

These guys were absolutely awesome from Lindsey at the front desk to Mariano in the back ( assisted with her during surgery) and the wonderful girl that helps you check in and get you in the room and help with the blood draw. Didn't get her name. They are all awesome. Dr Quing was very friendly and helpful. He was not in a hurry while in the room. He got down to my dog's level and approached her ( she was shaking nervous) She absolutely loved him. She was there because she was drooling nonstop. He did teeth x-rays and found that she had six teeth that needed to be removed. He was able to do the surgery that day for me so we could start the recovery process. They checked in with us along the way. Great communication skills from everybody there and you can tell they are very caring and love what they do. I was a nervous wreck and they kept me informed and calm. They did not try to gouge me for money either. I really appreciate all of them there. Thank you !

Usually Angel is on edge, clinging on to us to not leave her on the table alone, but she was super comfortable here!

We drove from Orange County after hearing such great reviews about Dr. Quing. First off, the staff is beyond welcoming. They clearly saw my husband and I were distressed about our 15 year old pup (who had been going downhill for about a week - heart murmur, fluid in stomach, and just everything else that could go wrong) and they showed us so much empathy and compassion about our situation. Dr.Quing is so knowledgeable and I genuinely appreciate how he laid out everything in layman's terms for us to easily understand. He not only gave us several options to consider but walked us through each of them and the potential outcome for them. He was not pushy, our initial invoice didn't have anything that wasn't "necessary" (trust me, my husband and I have had our share of declining random add ons at other clinics), and we felt we could be honest with him about how much we were able to spend on our visit. I really appreciated this. If you live in the area and need a vet, you are in luck! For anyone who doesn't mind driving a distance and just wants the best for their pets , I promise SoCal Pet Hospital is worth the drive.

Always bring my kitties when they dont feel well. They are always good to us and take care of my cats very well.

This place isn't too bad. I got in right away and was quoted 570 for a spay but it ended up costing me closer to $700. They got my little girl in and out within hours and there weren't any issues. They cut her open pretty big, I thought the incision would be a little smaller but who knows.

They aren't as competent as they seem! Let's start from the beginning. Our beloved Remy had been vomiting uncontrollably starting February 23nd. By the following morning we knew something was seriously wrong. So we rushed him to VCA where they preformed multiple X-rays to determine that Remy in fact did have a foreign object blockage. Once we received word that Remy was going to need an emergency extraction surgery we immediately started calling around to see who had availability. First red flag is when we called SoCal to ask if they had availability as we needed an emergency extraction surgery. They said the doctor was unfortunately unavailable at the moment so they wouldn't be able to give us an answer as to whether they were able to take him in or not. Since this was an emergency we politely stated we'd take Remy elsewhere as this is a situation that needs immediate attention. As soon as we mentioned "elsewhere" they suddenly were able to take him in. So we rushed our beloved Remy down to SoCal to get the emergency surgery done. We called later that evening to check up on Remy as they had not reached out to us yet. They had informed us the surgery was a success and they would be needing to keep Remy for the following 2 days for after patient care. After the 2 days was up we were able to go pick Remy up. They informed us Remy wouldn't poop for a few days but their main concern was the vomiting. Remy was home for two days before we had noticed something was off. March 2nd we reached back out to SoCal to inform them Remy had been vomiting, he looked off, and started acting strange. They asked us to bring Remy in. When we got there they performed an ultra sound to double check nothing was of issue with Remy. They CONFIDENTLY told us Remy looked fine and healthy and we would be alright to take him back home. They explained to us we need to keep force feeding him his medication and now food since he had been vomiting and not eating much. Within 24 hrs of Remy being back home his lungs, abdomen, and rest of his body filled with blood and other fluids. At 2:00am March 3rd Remy was rushed to VCA where we ultimately were forced to euthanize our beloved Remy. Because of this whole ordeal, their false confidence, and the thousands of dollars we spent just to ultimately have to euthanize our baby. I cannot out of good faith recommend this veterinarian clinic.

We had unexpected issue with female kitty with diarrhea. My girlfriend called this hospital ask if there time we can come in on the same day. The receptionist was very kind and ask us what issue and symptom our kitty had. We came in with intel and information what our kitty had with treatment plan. The doctor and nurses very polite and nice with us. We recently move in and this place were going to bring our other 2 cats for check up!!!!

SoCal Pet Hospital in Murrieta Ca has a great group of animal friends in their staff. Very accommodating and helpful in n everything. My dog is healing well from anesthesia, dental cleaning and anal gland flush. Dr Ahmed was very clear and concise during consultation and after surgery. Highly recommended !

Socal Pet Hospital saved my cat's life by taking him to urgent care fast, taking him into immediate surgery, and being so kind, helpful, and informative throughout the whole process. I cannot thank them enough for everything they've done for me and Macaroni through this very stressful time. I see many reviews about pricing and overcharging, I was shown in writing everything that would have been expected for his emergency overnight procedure and the estimate of that, which was around 5,000. I a college student was shocked but SoCal pet hospital waived many fees to help me out and gave me an itemized bill afterwards. After I immediately got pet insurance, I recommend many of you to invest in that as pricing for your pet will be expensive ANYWHERE! It is a luxury to own a pet and if I am paying money for a procedure I'm glad to know my pet will be safe and cared for throughout it.

Available appointments. Very convenient. Nice upfront staff and pricing. This place also doesn't smell like overly used air fresheners to mask other bad smells. Very clean.

My dog's usual vet wasn't able to get him and recommended pet wellness, while my dog is huge, he's a massive baby. From the moment we arrived, he was treated like the baby he is, love, care, and understand the entire visit. Dooly was a little unsure about Dr. Fang at first, but Dr. Fang did everything to make him feel comfortable and at ease. They determined Dooly was in fact having a reaction quickly and sent us home with medication if another was to occur and a shot while there that helped quickly. What I appreciated most was the follow up the next day checking in on Dooly. Fast forward to this week, I came home to my other dog with a massive gash on his side and no idea where it came from. Again, his regular vet was not able to see him and I remembered the pet wellness center. I drove over and was informed that they weren't an urgent care until after 4 o'clock the front desk person I spoke with asked if he could wait to be seen until after four and I said I wasn't sure, but the cut was pretty bad. He was nice enough to have somebody out and come check on my dog, who determined that he needed to be seen. Rather than send me away to somebody else who could take him, they fit me into their schedule and help Chevy out. They cut me updated the entire time because I had to leave him there to be sedated and seen and handled him with care from the moment he arrived as well. Again, they followed up the next day, checking in on how he was doing and because we need to go back, they were very accommodating on when to see him again. All this to say, I'm considering switching my vet here as the care that they've shown is above and beyond.

We took her to a conventional vet to rule out UTI/kidney issues and had X rays done to ensure there was nothing grossly abnormal structurally with her bones. On our first visit, Dr. Rose did a thorough exam of Nikka and informed us that Nikka had an unusual heart murmur. A different vet at a conventional clinic that had seen Nikka just a few weeks earlier also mentioned the heart murmur but said it was very mild/quiet and didn't seem concerned about it all and didn't give us any indication that it needed to be investigated. I thought that the murmur must be no big deal based on how the first vet handled the finding. Dr. Rose immediately told us that Nikka's heart murmur was quite pronounced and unusual sounding and she gave us a lot of info and recommendations on next steps. . Well, today we took Nikka to a cardiologist where she had an ECHO and it turns out she has dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), which, thankfully, has been caught early and might be able to be improved with medication and dietary changes. . Dr. Rose literally saved Nikka's life with her attention to detail, her excellent clinical skills, and her prompt and informative follow up and recommendations. I will be eternally and forever grateful to her competence and expertise. . Nikka has also had 2 sessions of acupuncture and cold laser/photobiomodulation and she definitely has more pep in her step. Nikka also loves coming to Serenity Holistic Vet, she isn't anxious or nervous and just settles right down and relaxes when the acupuncture needles are in. Dr. Rose is a gem and we are so lucky to have her here in Murrieta.

I also liked that they were precautious and caring about my dog's health but weren't using fear tactics to get me to buy more medicine or food, or do more medical tests. The bill was reasonable.

This veterinary hospital made an incredibly painful day feel as gentle, peaceful, and dignified as possible. The staff was kind, compassionate, and calm from the moment we arrived. They brought us into a private room and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye. There was never any feeling of being rushed. They allowed us to grieve, love on him, and have those final moments together in peace. We will forever be grateful for the care and compassion they showed our family and our Charlie. They helped turn an unbearable goodbye into a beautiful, peaceful farewell. Thank you for treating our boy with so much love and dignity.

Nobody has called or emailed results. My second complaint is that when I asked them to show me how to visually put in medication in ear and how to use the ear flush, they were no help. They didn't show me how, they only read me the instructions. I had to go home and watch a YouTube video to figure it out. Which was really hard to try to put in medication in my dogs ear and my dog doesn't let me. They should have gave me oral medication or gave me my best option based on my dog or at least gave me tips or tricks on how to put in medication.
