Tie over bandage after laser treatment with honey dressing
    Cindy E.

To say the last 6 weeks have been a nightmare is an understatement. My dog had a large tumor removed from her leg and ended up with a long and deep incision. No antibiotics were sent home after the surgery even though I repeatedly asked if she needed some and was told no. No internal sutures were placed which they should have because the tumor was so deep. After taking her back 3 times because the incision kept opening, she went in a 4th time and had a drain placed and resutured again. Not until the wound started to smell was she started on antibiotics. Again the wound opened exposing the whole inside tissue and the drain. I ended up having to take her to the emergency vet where the doctor actually placed internal sutures and a proper j-peg drain to keep the wound as dry as possible. A culture was also done that showed there was 3 bacteria's growing in the wound which resulted in her having to get a $500 antibiotic injection and 2 more antibiotics. I ended up continuing her treatment with the ER vet at his clinic and will not be going back to this place. Due to the damaged tissue from resuturing it so much, it started to open again which resulted in having to get a laser treatment and special bandage that needs to be changed every 2 days and costs me $75 each bandage change. This whole ordeal has caused a tremendous amount of pain and trauma to my fur baby and to our family and has amounted to almost $5000 in additional vet bills, added to the initial $2000 surgery. To this day, I have not gotten any follow up call from them after emailing a picture of the wound before taking her to the ER vet, nor the final results of her biopsy to see if the whole cancerous tumor was removed. *Warning, the pictures are a bit graphic, but shows what we have been dealing with.

We have been going to Clinton Keith Veterinary Hospital for our two dogs since 2021. Staff is friendly and truly care about our pets. The lobby is nice and spacious with complimentary treats available for your dog. The treatment rooms are also nice without any unpleasant smells. There is plenty of parking.

I have been bringing my doggies here for 3 years now. The front desk is always so nice on the phone and in person. The veterinarians are knowledgeable and great with my dogs. The vet techs are also very good with my dogs. They are not emergency vets, so if something happens, you would have to go elsewhere. They only have certain medications on hand. I had to go through Chewy.com to get my dogs flea and heartworm preventative medicines. They are super cool with it and fax over the prescription when needed. They are open on Saturdays, which is great. I think their prices are standard and competitive. Their lobby is clean as clean can be with animals coming through. They have chips and candy while you wait. They are such a great place to bring your pets.

Jake loved going to Clinton Keith veterinary - even on his last day. This photo was taken a couple weeks before that day.)

Dr. Witherby and his staff made the recent passing of our beloved pup, Jake, just a bit easier. Jake, our Golden Retriever, was diagnosed with lymphoma at 10.5 years old. It was aggressive. We lost him in less than 2 months. The front office and Dr. Witherby were so compassionate and understanding with my frequent phone calls. It's not an easy thing to navigate. I couldn't believe how accessible the doctor was, and so patient with my questions. When we had to put him to sleep, we were amazed at the love, concern, and support of everyone. Dr. Witherby stayed with us through the process and even our grieving afterward. We've been patients for years, and we love them there. When the time is right to add to our family again, we'll be back. Until then, we recommend them to others.

She needed help getting up and struggled to get around on her own. He started her on acupuncture, supplements, added certain foods to her diet, and gave me some physical therapy instructions for home. After her first appointment, she got off the couch to greet me when I got home! It had been weeks since she last did that. She was able to walk around much better and has continued to improve with each visit. Dr Ross started her with weekly acupuncture and has since moved to every other week because of the progress she has made. She is now able to go down the stairs (practically on her own), gets up on her own, goes potty outside by herself, and walks around the house on her own. Dr Ross has such a calming and kind demeanor. I wish we had found him sooner! He really has our baby girl's best interest in mind. He isn't trying to make a buck by selling us supplements we don't need. He actually advised that we could give her human supplements to save money. Their check in process is great because it is less stressful for our fur babies. You call from your car and they will come out and get you so that you won't run into any other patients on your way in or out. They also run an Urgent Care clinic some evenings which makes it convenient for refilling prescriptions Thank you Dr Ross and clinic staff for the amazing service!

He listened to my concerns carefully and took the time to answer all of my questions in a kind and thorough manner. In my past experiences with other vets, they often didn't listen much and gave quick, rushed answers without spending much time with us. However, Dr. Fang was completely different and provided a level of care I had never experienced before. He personally called me with the results of the stool test, and even followed up a few days later to check on how my dog was doing. (At the clinics I previously visited, I had to call them myself to get any updates.) I could truly feel his kindness and compassion toward my dog during the visit, and the follow up care has been outstanding. I highly recommend Dr. Fang. Thank you Dr. Fang!!

He has been playful, eating, not lethargic has not vomited once. The receptionist instructed us to keep him in the car and upon arrival I made sure to let them know I did not feel comfortable with him going into the contagious pet exam room, he is showing no symptoms and if the facility is run correctly AAHA certified they should be disinfecting exam rooms if any suspicion of any contagious disease, I told Vanessa I was declining a parvo test, wanted an exam and fecal done to start with, she was obviously annoyed and stated she had to check with the Dr. she returned to let me know we MUST do a parvo test in order to have him come in the building. Which is ridiculous, especially since he's displaying no symptoms and was positive for giardia just weeks ago. She clarify does not have the maturity, tact or customer service skills to handle clients. She started getting visibly upset, using hand gestures and rolling her neck. She stormed off and got another employee who stated the same, apparently you are forced to do Parvo test here despite pets being positive for Giardia and showing no signs of Parvo. Had Vanessa been professional and knew how to communicate, I assure you things would have gone differently but she upset me and unfortunately I had to put her in her place, I'm sorry little girl but you will run into clients who will question your protocols so maybe some more training on your end would be benificial if you continue in this field. (We ended up in the same parking lot at "Not Just For Pawsl" which was a completely different experience, everyone was very professional, they got us in for a same day appointment , understood that our dog showed absolutely no symptoms of parvo and we had proof of a positive giardia test which I informed Canyon Lake AH about yet they wouldn't listen and in my opinion was a get more money out of clients situation, with that being said drive past Canyon Lake Animal Hospital and go to "Not just for Paws" we ran into no "Vanessa's" there and had an amazing experience from calling to make the appointment all the way to check out)

We had just rescued our newest family member, Daisy, only nine days earlier, and it was incredibly important to us that she be seen by people who truly cared about her well-being. The entire team immediately made us feel that Daisy was in the right hands. Daisy needed to be spayed and also had a small wound on her left flank that we were concerned about. When Dr. Laura examined her, she discovered the wound was far more serious than we had realized. Instead of rushing through the appointment, she took the time to thoroughly explain what was going on and developed a thoughtful treatment plan that included antibiotics and ointment to get the infection under control before moving forward. We want to give a special thank you to Joshua, Chantel, Amber, and Tiffany for their incredible time and patience. They explained every procedure and all of Daisy's after-care needs in a crystal-clear way, making sure we fully understood what to expect and how to care for her at home. Their kindness and willingness to answer all of our questions meant more to us than words can express. What stood out the most was the genuine compassion everyone showed--not just toward Daisy, but toward us as worried new pet parents. We never felt rushed or dismissed. It's obvious that this team truly loves what they do and cares deeply about the animals and families they serve. We are so grateful to Dr. Laura and the entire staff at Not Just 4 Paws for giving Daisy the care and attention she needed. I strongly recommend that pet owners choosing a shelter for spay or neuter procedures consider having blood work done before surgery to check for any underlying conditions that may not be obvious beforehand. I'm sharing this so other pet owners feel comfortable asking detailed questions about post-operative recovery, discharge criteria, monitoring, and what signs should prompt emergency care after surgery.
