I completed the IV Therapy & Blood Withdrawal Certification course at Los Angeles Career College,…read moreand I have to say--this place runs smoother than most hospital floors I've worked on. The staff was organized, check-in was easy, and the hybrid format made the whole process painless (unlike some IV attempts I've witnessed in real life). What really impressed me was how efficient everything was. Once I passed my exam, they handed me my certificate the same day--no waiting, no chasing emails, no mysterious "processing time." Just boom. Certified. I wish everything in healthcare worked that fast. Now for the real highlight: Instructor Steele Erickson. Steele is the kind of nursing instructor you secretly hope for but never expect to get. He breaks down IV therapy and blood withdrawal with such clarity and patience that even tricky techniques suddenly feel manageable. He teaches with a calm, supportive energy that makes everyone relax. He's incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely invested in every student, and somehow keeps the class both educational and entertaining. As someone with 25+ years in healthcare, I can confidently say instructors like Steele do not grow on trees. If you're considering getting your IV Certification, go to Los Angeles Career College and hope you get Steele Erickson as your instructor. You'll walk away confident, competent, and wondering why every nursing class can't be this smooth. Highly recommended!

Life got in the way a couple of times during this portion of the class and I was able to talk to Mika and figure out a plan so that I wouldn't have to miss class. I also loved listening to her real life stories of working in nursing. The course I took was 5 weeks, 8 hours a day. The first two weeks were online. There is a lot of reading, a lot of quizzes, and several tests, but you get the hang of it quickly. The second week was practical where you learned the skills. I got pretty frustrated when I didn't get the skill right the first time, but the fact is that there are a lot of steps to the skills and these are brand new things that I'm learning. It all falls into place when you go into the clinical. You get to apply what you learned in class and in your practical learning. I especially loved my clinical rotations at the hospital. It gave me such a bigger perspective on the healthcare industry and patient care. I learned so much and discovered that I really liked working in ER. I look forward to applying everything I learned in my future career.

I took a test back in September and was waiting for the November waitlist. I eventually did get a call/email that were was spots open and you must register at 8am on a specific day. I didn't follow through as I decided on another school but now I constantly get spam calls from this school. Even when blocked, I get calls from different numbers from this school.

I have a hard time testing, I get real nervous and go blank but with the tools and lectures provided in his class I was able to overcome it and do it. His office suite is soooo nice and comfortable, everything is modern, super clean and up to date. He literally offered everything you'll need in his class and more. The instructor is awesome, he offered coffee, water and was real accommodating. Learning to read EKGs was intimidating but his class makes it to where you understand and succeed. Compared to others places for EKG Monitoring certifying I looked at, this course was the most affordable class from all the other expensive classes. He is carrying a lot of years in this field and legit cares to have you succeed as a EKG Monitoring Tech. Parking was free and convenient as well, very safe quiet surrounding location too. Highly recommending this class to anyone who's interested in this line of work, it's two days and you learn everything you'll need to apply in a real job. Certification is given by the instructor at end of course which is exciting. Again,Great experience, he will answer all your questions, I had a lot of questions and he was awesome in providing answers!

This man is married with kids and a wife (who has MS), and if that's not bad enough most of the girls (barely 18-21) were confiding in me about his (Mr. U) inappropriate behavior. The fact that you're a grown man with a wife and kids as old as your students, and you're trying to be their best friends and get them to come to your hotel room speak volumes ! My sister and I had seen text messages and heard too many girls come forward to assume these were rumors. We reported this to the director who in-turn informed the teacher (Mr. U) that he was being talked about. There was no urgency to protect the students. Mr. U was more concerned about the pettiness amongst the students in the class-- which in turn fuels more issues. I approached this pedo with class and even asked how he's doing. Why would I do that if I went off and cursed you down the hall. He drove so much unhealthy competition, tension, and negativity in this class. He gossiped with the students and spread lies-- I mean this guy was eating lunch with his students in the lounge area EVERYDAY. Talk about Inappropriate. I even asked him why he had been a MA teacher for so long and not worked at a real school. His answer ? Too many reports of sexual misconduct. Erm , not the answer I was expecting but it said a lot about the mans mentality. Also shows that this staff was negligent and complicit. Staff often complained and hated their jobs because the school would make them wait weeks before they could deposit their own paychecks ! I worked as a student worker and had that same issue. Send your kid there and they will be preyed on. Enroll them and your pockets will be prayed on. Go to a community college, or take an online course at an accredited institution. Everyday since I've left I'd prayed for this school to be shutdown. Let's hope God and the universe is listening. P.S I dare someone say I'm lying-- still have receipts and names of these individuals 10 yrs later ! Just uploaded a receipt for reference.
