I got three quotes. Luis stood out for one reason: he was the only one who gave me a straight answer about prep. I asked everyone whether they strip the old failed coating or just sand and coat over it, and he explained exactly what he does remove all the loose material, feather down what's still bonded, then primer and finish coat. No sales pitch, just the actual process. He was also upfront about what he doesn't do. He told me he'd remove the fixtures but wouldn't reinstall them since the finish would still be wet, and he was clear that regrout and caulk would be done where needed rather than promising to redo the whole thing sight unseen. I'd rather hear that honestly up front than get a surprise mid-job. Price came in well under the other bids, and he included the regrout, which the other companies wouldn't touch at all. That saved me from hiring a separate tile person. He's licensed (CA #922072), bonded, and everything checked out on the state contractor board. Estimate was clear and he updated it without any pushback when I asked him to spell out a couple of details. Easy to work with and straightforward throughout. Would hire again.

This time, we decided to move forward with a project Luis recommended: refinishing one of the wood laminate kitchen countertops in our rental unit. Initially, I expected the result to look like a simple repaint, especially considering how worn and faded the laminate surface had become. However, once I saw the finished work, I could hardly believe my eyes. It genuinely looked as though we had replaced the countertop with granite. The finish appeared solid, durable, and waterproof.
