I have had an excellent experience at SoCal Smiles Dentistry since I started visiting close to, if not over 10 years ago. They are kind, courteous and have mastered attention to detail. It's air conditioned and the waiting room is very comfortable. I've never been scared of dentists, but I have been to other practices that made me anxious due to rough-handling. I have never experienced that here. They are calm, patient, and gentle, while leaving my teeth feeling very clean. I also appreciate that they keep updating their technologies and have a pleasantly sunny view at most of the stations, along with shades for when it gets too sunny. read more

Love this dentist and whole team! Dr. Kim is personable, caring and meticulous with his work. He's fixed my chipped front tooth and you'd never be able to tell, and fixed crowns and other work on me. Everything is easy and smooth bc he does such detailed great work on it all that I never have to worry. It's easy to get an appointment within a couple days if it's urgent but normally I pre schedule every 6 months. Don't waste your time anywhere else. The dentist he said he is doesn't know what he's doing he filled a tooth and didn't finish it off went back and had him relline my plate he screwed that up I had to go back where I had them made and they fixed them both. Now he's cleaning my teeth and he keeps getting the sucking device stuck to the bottom of my mouth , after that he almost drown me twice. ENOUGH read more

I have been coming here for the last 5 or so years after a terrible series of experiences at a large nationwide chain with a location in Costa Mesa; it has been night and day switching to SoCal Smiles. I've had nothing but pleasant encounters each visit, so much so that I referred my husband to become a patient here too! Helena at the front desk and the dental assistants are very personable and take the time to go through any potential concerns with teeth or billing. Dr. Kim is approachable and non-judgmental and was a big reason why I continued coming to SoCal Smiles, even after moving 20 miles south. He has now been joined by Dr. Lai as the other in-house provider, who my husband and I now see and the transition has been seamless. read more

SoCal Smiles have been absolutely incredible! I had a freak little lunch accident where I cracked one of my teeth in half and I couldn't find a single dentist that would help me out, then I reach out to SoCal smiles and they took me in an hour later and got me a temp crown and fixed it completely! Not but 3 weeks later one of my veneers falls out and I cracked it in half as well and needed help immediately and SoCal smiles once again took me in 30 min after my accident and fixed me up! They have been nothing short of a blessing! if I could I would give them 10/5 stars as they deserve even more than they can get! Thank you! read more

This review is long overdue! After many years of neglecting my dental care, I finally made it a priority and scheduled a consultation at SoCal Smiles earlier this year. I have TMJ, so dental visits aren't always the most pleasant (I've been refused x-rays and have even had to be put under just to take impressions). I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised at how easy they made my experience! On my first visit, Dr. James outlined my treatment plan which included filling cavities, removing my wisdom teeth, getting a night guard, and of course, regular cleanings. All of the charges were presented upfront so there were no surprises and I was able to budget accordingly. All of the procedures have gone smoothly, and due to my TMJ, they often split my sessions up for no additional charge to give my mouth a rest. Even before I got my wisdom teeth out, I was already raving to friends about how much I loved SoCal Smiles, but this was above and beyond. I got dry socket after removing my wisdom teeth and was in unbearable pain. It was a Sunday so I didn't know what to do, but I ended up reaching out to the office and was able to get in touch with Helena (who is fabulous!), the office manager. She contacted Dr. James and he was able to see me on his day off and pack the dry socket. I couldn't be more impressed with that level of care. In addition to Dr. James, Helena and the rest of the amazing staff, the offices are clean and modern. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to be seen and my appointments always go quickly (something I had never experienced before at the dentist). SoCal Smiles is located on the second floor of a professional building facing 17th Street. There is street parking at the front and a parking lot at the back. Appointments can also be coordinated and confirmed view text for modern convenience. I'm so grateful to have found SoCal Smiles - so much so that I actually look forward to going to the dentist! My cousin has been coming to Dr. Kim for the longest time so when I switched dentist, I followed her recommendation and went to Dr. Kim. He's super nice and so knowledgeable and so gentle, and also funny! Helena helped me with all the paperwork and scheduling and she is the best. All their staff are wonderful and the one thing I like the most at their place is the X-ray machine.
