They made a Don Mattingly jersey for me about 25 years ago, and this year I came across some blanks and Googled "embroidery shop Brooklyn McCarren Park." When BQ Sports popped up, it was like a time warp walking back in -- the shop looks exactly how I left it in 2000, in the best nostalgic way possible. This place is super authentic, super old-school, and still delivering top-tier quality in 2025. The blanks are quality, the varsity jackets are quality, and the embroidery is perfection. I brought in a blank Reebok Pro Line jersey and had it customized into an Amani Toomer -- it literally looks like I pulled it off the rack in 1999. Couldn't ask for anything better. End of the day: their work is amazing, the turnaround time is solid, and their craftsmanship is unmatched. I picked up a few more blanks and George is already lined up to customize them ASAP. I'll keep coming here as long as those doors are open. And ignore the negative comments -- Kathy is a busy woman, yes she's on her phone, but she ALWAYS takes care of her customers. It arrive today and there's absolutely no way it's a medium--I couldn't get my arms through it. I asked someone who wears a small to try it on and they couldn't either. It has to be women's sizing. Finally, it was advertised with a full price of $800, making the discount I received seem sizable. The full price on the garment tag shows it as $500, not $800. Just incredibly disappointed with my whole experience and will never shop here again.

For the stock that was available - waited over a month with no arrival, contacted the carrier but was referred to the 'sender' as the shipping label was created but the item was still awaiting. Meaning the stock was potentially lost sometime in-between leaving the store and arriving at the post office. Tried to avoid leaving a review but am receiving minimal clarity in their email responses. Slowly accepting will probably have to accept the loss. 10/10 will never shop here again. Hopefully Quiet Mountain Cafe will choose an alternative store to release through next time. Appalling.

The store is very organized with high quality outdoor gear/supplies! They have basically everything that you need to survive in the outdoors. The quality of these Japanese designed products is easily seen as I walked around the store. They promote sustainability. I would definitely return to look deeper. The collaboration with the Appalachian Mountain Club was great, reminding people to get outside and get the gear that can keep you on adventures.

Called around to a few stores to see if they had our size. Luckily 5 Stride had our sizes. Yay. We quickly hopped on CitiBikes and rode over. We did not have an appointment but were lucky enough to be serviced immediately with 0 wait time. We tried a few brands before deciding to on our purchase. We took FOREVER to decide brand and color of wheels and laces. Paco (staff) was patient and helpful in making sure we got everything we asked for.
