Let me start by saying in planning my wedding, music was not the most important thing on my list. I mean, my thoughts ran something along the lines of: "Can't we just hook up my ipod/iphone and press play and call it a day? How hard is that, right?" Wrong. I was completely blown away by the way Social Chemistry does things. Carlos really took the time to explain/educate me from the perspective of his world, what a difference cheapening the whole DJ experience would mean. A big plus is their flexible and easy-to-use website once you book with them (so you can get all the details to them for all the neurotics out there like myself). Everyone at Social Chemistry was super responsive (and by responsive I mean I actually got a human who picked up the phone when I called right away and there was a time difference!), courteous, professional, friendly, and they aim to make sure you and your guests have an amazing experience. My DJ (Pierre) even touched base with me multiple times before the wedding (let me say this was an impossible task given both our crazy schedules and the time difference); he was keen to make sure every piece of music and transition piece chosen was going to work and at the correct time, even asking what his family and my family enjoyed listening to most. What stands out most day of is this: In the middle of our slideshow, the music accompanying the slideshow just stopped playing from my laptop. You should've seen my face (because this was perhaps my biggest baby of the whole wedding) - deer in headlights bordering evil demon baby spawn. Carlos and Pierre were quick to get music playing, fix the hiccup, and transition on. No loud-obnoxious DJ's here who can't play a tune to save them (unless that's what you want because that's not what I wanted for my wedding). Think class. I will def have to use them again. My husband and I wanted to take a moment to tell you how wonderful Sal our photographer from Social Chemistry is! We had so much fun with him. He was awesome!! Not only is he a great photographer but a SUPER GREAT person! Our wedding was a dream come true we were so lucky to have him there to capture the moments. Even our guests said he was great!! DJ ANDY IS AMAZING!!! Our wedding day was perfect and with the help of DJ Andy, it was made to be very smooth. We had many compliments about our DJ and our reception as a whole. Weeks before the wedding DJ Andy was in contact with me. If I had a question or wanted to discuss the timing of the wedding, he was there to talk it through with us. Two days before the wedding we were in contact about some changes that had to be made and he welcomed it with true compassion. We felt so comfortable with our choice days leading up to our wedding. He allowed our wedding to go as planned with some spontaneity, as well. My husband and I were given a few surprises that turned out to be great! It was completely unexpected and allowed us to be truly honest with our guests. DJ Andy allowed for all of our guest's song requests to be made. He even had a Marimba Song on hand, which truly delighted my husband's family! My cousin's daughter even requested to sing a song to us, and DJ Andy cleared her request with us first and then he gave her a few minutes to sing a song to us. Where do I begin? This company is extremely professional & are experts in the business. My wedding was a big hit because of these guys, they made the party start & kept it going! ANDY is the best DJ out there, it doesn't get any better than him. He's an awesome MC, all of my guest couldn't stop bragging about how good he was. He had steps for the kids, he zoomed out when there was a big crowd taking a pic, he held on to my pictures so I wouldn't loose them, & he even gave me the disc with everyone's pictures that same night! I had Social Chemistry Events DJ my wedding this May. It was a backyard event out on a farm with about 120 people. Originally I wanted a smaller 30-40 person wedding and was going to use an iPod for music but when the wedding party grew larger I knew I was going to want to use a DJ and I am SO thankful that I did! Carlos, my DJ, was beyond helpful from the very beginning, more so than any other vendor I worked with. Having never planned a wedding before, he helped me with the timeline of events and offered suggestions on things to do (like deciding if I wanted to have a cell phone free ceremony or not - something I hadn't thought of before!) and even helped me pick a pre-procession song to match my procession song. He followed up with me often before the event which kept me feeling in control during all of the crazy planning! During the wedding everything went perfectly smoothly! He was so professional and "on top" of everything that he felt like a wedding day coordinator all on his own! Having him act as the MC completely changed the formality of the event and took it from a 7-star event to a 10-star event. I don't come from a "dancing" family but he had almost everyone dancing by the end of it and knew exactly what kind of music to play to get it to work (I am more of the oldies music type!). I had multiple tell me afterwards "he was the best DJ I have ever seen!" which made me feel amazing! When I started the planning process I thought that the photographer was going to be the most important vendor at the wedding (and don't get me wrong - photos are important!) but considering that the photographer works in the background and the DJ runs the event, I would say that the DJ ended up being the most important vendor I had there! I hired SCE for a graduation party for my son and 2 other boys. Dj Alex was amazing! He catered to what everyone wanted to hear. In the beginning the kids wouldn't get on the dance floor so the parents took over and he had no problem switching over to something our age group wanted to hear! He had a great variety of music and was absolutely amazing. My group of boys was not the easiest to work with. Getting them to make their song list was like pulling teeth but he still managed to play a great mix of music. Once the dance floor started buzzing it was on!! And wait...Alex did this all with only one functional arm!! LOL Poor guy showed up with one arm all bandaged up!! Carlos was amazing to work with as far as setting up all of the details!! the website is amazing and so easy to navigate! I would def recommend them to anyone looking. They are full service ... from Dj to photography to full event planning!! They even do emergency Dj service!! who does that??? SCE DOES!! LOL Anyhow I will use them always.
