For me the service is great, because I think when I'm at a bar, I like when I'm not interrupted every 10 min. I found my self at this hyper local community focused neighborhood pub. This place was bustling with friendly regulars who all seemed to live in the area, a live band performing old school hits (Beatles, Springfield, Buffet, etc). The drinks were cheap and the staff was friendly. The owner was a really nice guy, former military, no-nonsense type. A number of the patrons also seemed to be former military. While not overbearing or anything I should note this place does have a bit of that old school military/police/fire meets Harley-Davidson type-feel, often found in these neighborhood bars in the suburbs. I personally don't mind this but felt it worth mentioning as I know some people can find this intimidating - in Landmarks case they definitely shouldn't! It seemed clear to me that everyone knew we were not regulars and really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable (staff and patrons alike)! We had a great night and I look forward to visiting again soon.

A short fuse and a close call…read more After Emily and I checked in to our hotel room, we wanted to stretch our legs and see if there was anything nearby for some beer and some food. Turns out, Short Fuse was right up the road and a 5 minute walk got us there. For a Sunday, it wasn't too busy but not dead, so we got seated right away. We ordered some beer and took a look at the menu. While nothing really struck our fancy, our waitress made a comment that if we did want any food, it might be slim pickings as they were running out of stuff. Turns out, this day was the last day they were open. Talk about timing! After she mentioned that, I started to notice that people were buying bar signs and various other things. Emily started off with a Guava Gose and I grabbed a Krankshaft kolsch. We sampled each other beers and we both really liked what the other ordered. I don't really know what a gose is but, damn, was that good! I've had Krankshaft before so I knew what I was getting myself in to. We ended up ordering a second round of the same beers and let each other sample the other's beer a little more liberally this time. While we were kind of hungry, nothing on the menu really struck our fancy, especially considering they might've been out of it. Room service took care of those hunger pangs later after a few more beers in the hotel bar. Online reviews for this place seemed hit and miss but I really enjoyed my time there and really enjoyed the artwork on the walls and the vibe of the place. We did contemplate buying some bar signs on our way out but declined as we don't know what we would exactly do with them. It sucks to see a small business close but they did say they may try to open up a new place in a new location in the future.

The sandwich was delicious, I would have liked the bread toasted to a crunchy element but was still a good sandwich. For an appetizer we had Samosa (similar to an empanada in concept) this was filled with peas and potatoes which were seasoned nicely and when accompanied with the turmeric sauce was awesome. The turmeric sauce added spice and a new level of flavor. We also tried the marsala fries, they were regular crinkle, cut fries, but with a special flavor of marsala; also very tasty. I ordered the Goat Curry marinated goat cooked in a homemade cashew gravy. I also ordered garlic naan which was phenomenal; the goat was season well and very tender, it also came with Jeera which is a light rice that you can literally sprinkleon the curry instead of being clumpy like regular white rice. Using the naan as a vessel to eat, the dish, took it to a whole new level. Glenda tried the mango lassi, which is basically a shake made with mango, ice cream, and shaved almonds on top. That drink was cool and refreshing. We will definitely return to this restaurant, there are a few more things that I would like to try.
