Don't try to talk to security. They think they're above you and apparently hate their jobs. Always an attitude and always rude.

Everybody complains about the experience at SS office, but I was lucky enough that I was in and out within 45 minutes.

It seems like neither one of the two offices wanted to file the report. Finally, after the Chatsworth Police Department rejected the online police report for jurisdiction reasons, the financial crimes Department in Las Vegas informed me that they could file a courtesy report and fax it to the Chatsworth division. My uncle and I arrived when they opened and there were already two couples ahead of us. The sign on the door indicated they opened at 8:00 am, but the online website indicated that they opened at 9:00. By 9:10 a.m. we were being helped. They had us go inside of the glass door to file the report with one of the women who appeared to be training the other young lady who was working the front window. It is a little frustrating to see three or four employees assisting one person instead of opening more windows, but oh well.

I have never had that happen to me so I called a Vegas police officer I know & he said its actually somewhat common. I had to go to a police station w/all of my proof of car insurance and that the car is in fact mine etc. Then I spoke w someone and they said I had to go go a DMV wait over there and get an appointment etc. I guess I lucked out bc I waited in line for a bit w no appt and got a brand new license plate and was able to walk out w a new one. The lady was very helpful at the police dept so although it was a bad experience and it was a long day, it was a decent experience at the LVMP.

But the beds!? If you can call them that? Abhorrent is an understatement. If you enjoy sleeping 40 mins at a time only to wake up wondering if you're having transient strokes affecting various parts of your body, then this is the place for you! The beds feel like they were donated by a company that couldn't sell them otherwise, so they opted for a tax break. I have slept in hostels, the ground, tile floors, and even the occasion bush that left me more rested. If you love the feeling of a 90 year old pelvic girdle, permanent nerve damage, and impending spinal surgery, this is the place for you! Beds so bad that it took a 5 star review to 1.

I am taking classes at F Building, which is Las Vegas Fire Rescue Station 6. Good enough? I walked into the firehouse. I interacted with peers, professors, and assorted firedogs. One gave me a bag of free Sunchips once. No wonder every one likes firefighters more than cops (besides cops themselves, and their moms*). *On second thought, half of cop-moms probably still like firefighters more. You can come here to take class. You can come here to use the vending machine. (It is in the short hallway to the left once you pass the first set of couches.) You can come here to sit on the couches. You can apply for City Fire, test, swear (or affirm) your oath, and become a fucking firefighter for all I care. All those things would be firsthand experiences, and I would not flag your trivial review if you did them. On the other hand, I guarantee you that the serial flagger will flag this. (Flaggers are like terrorists.) They don't quit .... Would you rather pay 50¢ in building Foxtrot for two Grandma cookies or 1.25$ in every other building? - Those cookies are so bad for you. Would rather have available parking (and bike rack) always right outside the front door leading to your classroom, or be relegated to walking across campus to get to class? - We all know you detest walking. Do sirens excite you? - There is a film you should watch: Crash (Cronenberg). Have you ever reviewed a firehouse? - You should. I just did. Rating: "Yay! I'm a fan." Postscript. I am from Florida and lived in Missouri for years and had multiple jobs in both states and never had issues with licensing, etc. I was a correctional officer so I'm fully aware of how state licensing works, I come to Nevada seeking armed security careers, and was told I need a PILB card, okay so I go through the process of obtaining a PILB, I get my provisional card in an email, great I'm thinking everything is going smoothly; well a few months go by and my provisional has expired and I haven't received my hard copy in the mail. So then I call, 11 times no answer, left voicemails. I'm on a deadline for a job to get my hard copy, I send an email, and get an automated system message saying their closed because of the cyber attack, my employer informed me that they have already resumed operations well before I sent the email, cool so I'm being blown off. I have yet to get ahold of someone via email and phone call. I may lose my career opportunity because of this. I am very upset and stressed out as I am an adult with bills to pay and a family to take care of. Great system PILB of Nevada.
